Hotel And Real Estate Investment : The Latest Scam Technique

Here is the latest in Nigerian scam techniques. Now they have gone the hotels and real estate way. This morning I received what I think is the latest technique being used by the 419 scammers. The following is the initial mail I received from someone named Kevin Brantford.

Subject: Enquiry / Hotel or Real Estate?

Date: Mon, 11 Oct 2007 14:44:21 -0400

Goodday ,

I am looking for your cooperation in building a Tourist Hotel or Real Estate in your country. I am sorry if this is not in line with your business.I need an experienced person like you to assist me to set up, develop the project and assume responsibility of ownership as chairman but will be bringing in profit /distribute profit monthly or annually.

However ,I got your email information on your Hotel contact list. your immediate reply will be highly appreciated and I shall give you more information on this project,

Although I was sure it is some sort of 419 scam, I just want to check what this guy's next step before reporting it to the authorities.

So I sent a reply with just one line, "Sure. I am interested. Send me details"

This time the reply came from another mail id and it came quite fast too.

Dear SunSeven Good Day to you, I saw your mail and the content was clearly noted, I want you to know that I appreciate your response to my mail, anyway I am willing to deal with you, I am an Honest Person and my Joy is to Invest in such venture that is with your assistance as a citizen of your country.

I am interested in the Five Star Hotel in Country can you tell me more about the Hotel and for how much, Because I owned a Real Estate Investment here in England but sold it as at last Year due to the High Rate of Taxes here, I was not making much benefit, this is the very reason why I want to Invest there in your country.

I would appreciate if I gain your Trust and honestly towards our partnership.

Lastly I must Let you know that I am sick of Cancer and making arrangement to go for a Cancer Operation but before then I want to see the success in this Project, If you must know I deposited all I sold of my Real Estate Investment with a Financial Company here in England for safe keeping.

This was more than enough to convince me to take the steps I needed to take in the first instance. You can see that he could not even spell his name right. So if ever you receive mails like this please do not hesitate to report them. No doubt other names will be used in the mail using this theme and other mail ids will be used to send them to you. I decided to publish this hub just to let you know if you are not aware of this already.
