How to Make Money when you have none- Get Money !

Updated on November 4, 2014

How to get money ?- Making money

Are you wanting to know how to get money when you have none ? You cannot find another coin from down the back of your settee or in any of your clothes pockets in the wardrobe & horror of horrors... you have already raided the kids moneybank.. ssh don't tell them !

It is a good feeling when you earn the money yourself when needed rather than having to go to Mum Dad or be given it by anyone as you have more appreciation of it .

One way to get some money together first off go through your home with a fine tooth comb and sort out items that you don't need anymore ... yes thats right ... you DO NOT USE AND DO NOT NEED ! Be firm with yourself ....and would be of benefit to other people as long as they are in good condition , safe to use and clean.

Electrical goods

and so on.

Make sure you wash them well and if you have clothing that it is ironed & in good condition.

Toys are safe for children etc.

Place a notice in the shopping center or on Gumtree / Craigs list etc with your items for sale at a good price .

If you have a lot for sale then have a

To save on advertising keep an eye on the local newspaper & see when someone is having one nearby or a school fete etc & have it the same day so as to take advantage of their traffic passing by !

Offer to sell other peoples goods for a small commission at your sale for extra $$$

Or if there is a good market nearby then why not have a market stall ?

A market stall can be fun as well as profitable if done right & your items are not too dear.

Have something bright flying high if possible so as to attract children to your stall!

Kids love lucky dips so maybe you could add one of these to your stall as an extra.

Money We all need it !

Shops that buy of you

In your area look out for book shops & 2nd hand recycling shops and others that will buy off you if your items are in good condition.

A preloved wedding shop might be able to sell your wedding dress if you don't want to pass it on to family or be kept for memories.

Jewellery often sells well in the right shops

Bake Cakes & Biscuits

If you are good at baking then you could make some to sell at the same time as they are always popular.

Sausage rolls

Sweets like fudge always goes well at a market stall !

Make sure you check any laws about it first.

In Morawa we look out for Cake stalls as you can get some nice cakes, biscuits & freeze them for lunches occasionally or treats.

Market Stalls can be fun

Thats Life or Take 5 Magazines

Have a good think of any handy tips you can pass on to Thats Life readers with a photo for $50 cash.

If you have a good story to share then if you are published you can earn between $300- $800!

They look for

Real life medical story

Success stories , maybe a business idea

Secret Story

Fast fiction

Get money

When you have earned the money then use it to make more money.

Maybe you did really well at your market stall and want to do one on a regular basis.

Buy things really cheaply to sell at the next one !

Look out for opportunities to pick up items free .

This is like getting Free money!

Collection days are normally full of great things you can sell.

Furniture in good condition is often out on the footpath as well as other saleable items.

Often you see people advertising free goods if you will pick them up!

Advertise that you will get rid of peoples rubbish for them for a fee & keep any good items!

Free Money

Ways of getting free money .

I have heard that the Rich people do sometimes give away free money , however that would mainly be for charities in need so they can use it wisely.

People who work hard shouldn't be expected to give money away to those who don't want to work for their own or who waste money smoking or gambling or other ways though'

Oprah Winfrey is very generous !

I would love to be on her show when she is in a giving mood !

Join up and recieve free samples off companies . This will save you spending your money.

Do online surveys if it is something you enjoy.

Selling on Ebay

A lot of people are doing really well on Ebay & selling things they no longer need or they make.

Set up an account and read the best way to get set up before you start!

Pick up cans or bottles- Free Money

There are people who collect cans or bottles from the streets , Its like finding money laying around!

Once you have collected a reasonable amount of aluminum cans - at least one thousand - take the aluminum cans to your local recycling center and turn them in for cash. Put the cash in a high interest savings account at the bank and watch your profits grow! Each year, the aluminum factories pay out over $800 million dollars for recycled cans so get started now!

Other scrap metals are also worth something, so if you've got a big pile of scrap in your backyard or find any you will make money.

Offer your services

Offer to mow lawns

Wash cars

Use put talents you have to good use .

Free money laying around in cans!

Entertain the crowds!

If you can play music, dance , or tell jokes, you can probably get some cash by performing in public. But don't do this unless you are actually good at it and really entertain he crowds!

Put together a good act and find a place to perform. Give people a dose of live entertainment, and hopefully they'll reward you with tips.

If you are good at drawing or painting have a spot in a busy area as that always draws a crowd.

Start a vegie garden or have chickens

When you have made some money if you have room why not grow vegetables to save money for you as well as sell to neighbors or at markets .

I used to sell extra eggs when i had my chickens as most people prefer fresh free range eggs.

Use your Imagination !

Sell your work in a busy spot
Sell your work in a busy spot

Make money from crafts

We have a few consignment stores around town, but they are doing themselves an injustice by raising their commissions on various items, or floor space, to the point of being ridiculous. I took a new pair of jeans to sell, which I had bought from THEM, and was later told they were discarded because they were tattered and dirty. I hadn't even worn them since buying them the week before. There went some of my money. Beware of where you take your things - ask for recommendations.

      Great tips, thank you!

Your article spoke of earning for the short term. It is also wise to have a long term idea or goal. To make a consistent living it always comes down to two things.

Know something, or how to do something very few people do.

Be the best at what you do, and specialize in one area. You would be amazed how being the best at even hand digging ditches can create a handsome daily earning potential. Voted up, awesome and Sharing on one of our facebook fan pages.

I was starting to believe I was the last person on earth picking up cans. We're on the Dave Ramsey debt snowball plan, and I pick up cans to help pay down our debt. Great tip! (unless they start picking up cans in my area. haha!)

Great hub! I've done surveys myself, way back since february before I got a job, and even now I still do some when I get any in my inbox! Some sites are duds, but some sites you almost always have a chance to get qualified for a survey. I'm also considering other ways to make money, such as buying things at thrift stores and reselling on eBay. :)

very helpful article and like you say everyone needs to pull their own weight and not expect things for nothing if they are not doing something to help themselves and others.

There are so many generous people in this world but we have to be careful not to take advantage of them. thanks for sharing
