How to Pay KSEB Bill Online-A Step by Step Guide
This article is exclusively meant for people living in Kerala. This is to make their life easy by sharing some tips on handling a utility service they depend very much in their daily life.
Paying the KSEB (A Company owned by Kerala Government) electricity bill direct at the respective counters is a challenge for most of the Keralites. Reaching the office, long queue, hours of waiting, tendering the exact amount, etc., etc., you have plenty of reasons to hate this system.
Then, just forget it. You have an easy solution: Paying bills online. It is simple, user-friendly and time-saving. What all it takes is just five minutes, provided you have registered with the Web Self Service of KSEB (Kerala State Electricity Board). With the one-time registration (sign up), you are eligible for using their online payment service. You can make the payment at any time of your choice sitting in the comfort of your home or office. Doesn’t it sound fine? This article is to help you how to sign up with and make an online payment with the help of a real screenshot.
To make use of this service, what all you need is just two things, i.e. (1) an email id and (2) Net Banking facility or Debit or Credit Card (of any bank). Now, let’s learn the simple procedures.

Fine, now you need to sign up (one-time process only). To register or sign up, you need to click "Webself Service" or type the following address on the address bar: https://wss.kseb.in/selfservices/. Pay attention to the above screenshot, where I have circled the signup menu in red. Then, click there. You are taken to the Register New User page. Here enter the required details. The compulsory details you need to enter is *marked along with the Fields. They are as follows:
- Electrical Section (Select from the drop down menu)
- Consumer No. (You can find the 13 digit No. from your bill)
- Bill No.(See your physical bill or view it onscreen from "View Your LT Bills" from Homepage)
- User ID (See instruction on screen)
- Password (See instruction on screen)
- Email ID and
- Enter Verification Code (As shown on the Verification Code Box)
Good, you have entered the data in the required fields. If, then please click on the Register button as shown below the Verification Code. Now you will get a Registered Successfully message as shown under (screenshot).
Thus, you have registered with the KSEB Web Self Service. You will also get an email with verification link. Please open your email and activate your account by clicking the link as stated in the mail. It's done. Your account is activated! Now you are ready for the service and enable to make bill payment easily and quickly. Please, login with your ID and password. Click on the Quick Pay menu and enter details in just three fields. Then click Submit to see the bill. The bill will be displayed now. What you just need to do is click on Proceed to Pay button. (see screenshot below).
How to make Payment
You can make payment either using the Net banking facility with your bank or through Debit/Credit cards. On the screen, you may see Federal Bank or South Indian Bank. No problem, if your bank is a different one, you can select For Other Bank option and pick your bank from the pop-up menu. After selecting your bank or card option, click on the Pay Now button. Now you will reach your Bank's page directly. Login to your bank and do the formalities as required. You need to confirm payment. After payment is done, you will get a message to that effect. See screenshots below.
When the payment is confirmed and done, you will get the confirmation message saying that Payment Done Successfully. It is a receipt in support of your payment and will have all required information. (See screenshot below) Take a printout and keep in your personal custody for future reference. Congrats! Our job is done. Please note that once you have registered with this service, what it requires for making a payment is just 5 minutes!
