Knowledge is Power

Knowledge Is The Key

There are many things you can do to maintain and improve your credit. Some of the steps below will be easy and quick to accomplish. Other Steps may take a few months, or even a few years. But every step you take will get you closer to your goal

  1. You can get your credit report free if you recently applied for credit and was denied somewhere. After reviewing you can take steps to correct what caused you to be denied.
  2. If your credit report has any errors, you need to research the issue and do your best to correct them
  3. Pay your loan commitments on time, like credit cards and other loans.
  4. Reduce your debt, using credit wisely, and only applying for credit you need. Call your creditors or contact a nonprofit credit counseling organization for assistance.
  5. Create a nontraditional credit history.
  6. Use a budget, to manage your money
  7. Be smart and do not take out a loan that you know you can't afford.
  8. Help the next person from what you have learned once you have achieved your goal
