Spend Less on Auto Insurance: The Money Saving Expert

SAVE MONEY ON AUTO INSURANCE, NOW! This website includes time-tested tips to help you save your hard-earned money. If you want to save money on auto insurance, you’ve come to the right place.

Spend Less on Auto Insurance

  • Always comparison shop utilizing the internet. Use AutoInsurance.net as a starting place.
  • Raise your deductibles on collision and comprehensive coverage to at least $1,000 or, if you have an old car, drop this coverage altogether. This will likely save you hundreds of dollars on insurance premiums. By doubling your deductible, you often reduce your premium by 15-30 percent.
  • Using your insurance often results in a raise in premiums, so don’t use insurance claims that barely exceed your deductible. You’ll end up paying more in the long run.
  • Fast and expensive cars cost more to insure. Check out the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety ratings before purchasing a car. If it’s fast, expensive, or has a high theft rate, it’s going to cost a lot more in insure.
  • Ask for discounts when insuring your car. Some insurance companies offer many discounts. Teacher, low-mileage, car-safety, multiple-car, multiple-policy, good-driver, student, and many other discounts are common. Other discounts are based on the car. Air bags, antilock brakes, car alarms, and other safety features will usually result in a lower premium.
  • Maintain good credit. Your premium is probably based on the car, your location, your driving record, and your credit. Poor credit results in higher insurance premiums. I know it doesn’t seem fair, but that’s how insurance companies work.
  • Before moving to another area, consider insurance costs. Insurance generally costs more in small towns and more in big cities.
  • Beware of companies that advertise too much. If an insurance company has to saturate the market with constant television advertisements, they probably don't have the best rates. All companies advertise, some more than others. Television advertisements are very costly, and constant advertising drains profit. This cost is usually passed on to the consumer. The company may say they have the best rates, but they probably don't. If I start calling myself a doctor, will you believe me too? Get a quote from all major companies. Don't just assume you'll save money with a company because they claim to be cheaper.
