The Exponential Pull to $10 a Month on Hubpages
Cha-ching!
Activity and Time Begets Money
Just a few months ago I wrote about my experience Breaking $1 a Month on Hubpages. Well I am already back with happy tidings and good news. With not much more "work" I have seen an exponential growth in my earnings. Yes, that is right, last month I made nearly 10 times what I made just in January. I concluded the month with $9.40, which is my highest earnings ever. I am hoping to hit and break $10 for this month.
In this hub I'm going to look at the statistics because I know everyone is always curious to know what is needed to increase and create earnings through Hubpages. Obviously, I am not an expert but still learning. However I believe correct action and patience has created my little bits of side income. Let's examine what this correct action entails.
Favorites
My favorite hub I wrote from January to June is:
My favorite hub that I've come across in my readings recently is:
"La vie en rose" A Look at the Life of the Famous French Singer Edith Piaf.
Writing and Socializing
Writing and socializing seems to me to be key to making money with Hubpages. Writing useful or interesting content is what it's all about. After I wrote about breaking $1 a month on Hubpages, I intended to start writing up a storm. However, life very much got in the way as I found myself committed to a long rehearsal process for a play. Not that I minded, I love acting and being part of creative projects. I also was lucky enough to be part of some short films. So I did continue writing, however my quantity was not as high as it could have been had my time been more freed up.
A Look at the Numbers...
To break $1 a month, I wrote 17 hubs in 9 months and began commenting on articles I liked and following other Hubbers I liked, leaving fan mail and generally getting a little more involved in Hubpages. But as I mention in the article, I didn't start socializing for quite some time.
From January until now (mid June), I added 11 more hubs, many in just the past few weeks and days. Surprisingly, I am not having a hard time coming up with topics or interests to write about. It seems the more I write, the more ideas I have. I now think I have the opposite problem ~ not enough time to write hubs! There's a long list of ideas, notes, and outlines in my email account for more hubs to write. I'm just too busy having other fun in life with my free time to get to all of my ideas.
I've also been reading more hubs and leaving some comments, following others and leaving fan mail. I answered a question or two occasionally. I've also shared some articles that I thought were really good or might be interesting to someone or a group I know.
It felt pretty easy and fun. Especially when the earnings amount increased so much. I'm not sure what happened to increase my earnings other than time and just keeping with the whole process.
Checking Out Google Analytics
Honestly, I could not make heads or tails of it. There was so much information and not enough definitions about what all the terms meant. I did my best fiddling with graphs and do feel I (might have) gleaned some information about my traffic and where it's coming from. Overall I feel I learned that I need more of it!
However I think it is a handy feature and recommend you check yours out. You simply check out the Earnings section of your Hubpages portal and then start clicking around. It's amazing how much information is tracked and kept waiting for you to look at.
Even though I don't understand all of it just yet, I do find it enlightening. I suppose I will be reading up some more on that side of things too in the future.

Plans for the Future
I intend to do more writing and more browsing on Hubpages. I'm not in a hurry and am actually excited that pretty soon ~ in just two days actually ~ I'll be starting a 60-day memory challenge with The School of Phenomenal Memory. I know from my past experience that this will be pretty intensive and time consuming, but I am looking forward to it. So I know my time on Hubpages and the amount of writing I'm doing currently is going to slow down for a while, but I do intend to come back and get right back into writing as soon as the course challenge is finished.
Just thought I'd write some encouragement to others since I went for quite a while with spare-change earnings and have finally reached the dollars. It can happen for you also, just keep writing! Best wishes to you and happy writing.
