This article is purposely for all the Internet users especially for Citizen from Malaysia. If you are an active Internet user and always involving with the Internet purchasing through Online processors like Paypal, Alertpay, Moneybookers or others, you will need usually asked to link your online processor with your credit card or bank account.

For the users of Alertpay or Moneybookers, usually you need to link your local bank account with Alertpay or Moneybookers for the verification purpose. By linking your local bank account with these online processors, you are able to verify your account, upload fund from your local bank or even you can withdraw the money from these processors to your local bank. There are a lot of advantages linking your bank with these processors.

First, to link your local bank account with these processors, you will need some details like Bank Name, Bank Account number and the most important thing is - Bank Swift Code. Many people are wondering what is Bank Swift Code ? To make it simple, Bank Swift code is like an identity for the bank you selected. Every bank in this world has their unique swift code for the identification purpose. For example, Bank in Malaysia all included the code -'MY' as the short form of 'Malaysia'. All the banks in Malaysia are using the swift code in the following format :

XXXXMYXX

The four letters before 'MY' representing the name of the Bank with the two letters after MY representing the location (branch) of the Bank. For example, the Bank Swift Code for MAYBANK Berhad is as below :

MBBEMYKL

For full list of the Malaysia Bank Swift Code, check the list below :

Affin Bank Berhad = PHBMMYKL
Alliance Bank Berhad = MFBBMYKL
Ambank Berhad = ARBKMYKL
Bank Simpanan Nasional = BSNAMYKL
Bumiputra-Commerce Bank Berhad = BCBMMYKL
Citibank Berhad Malaysia = CITIMYKL
Hong Kong Bank Malaysia Berhad = HBMBMYKL
Hong Leong Bank Berhad = HLBBMYKL
Malayan Banking Berhad = MBBEMYKL
OCBC Bank (Malaysia) Berhad = OCBCMYKL
Public Bank Berhad = PBBEMYKL
RHB Bank Berhad = RHBBMYKL
Standard Chartered Bank Malaysia Berhad = SCBLMYKL
Southern Bank Berhad = STHBMYKL

United Overseas Bank (Malaysia) Berhad = UOVBMYKL

**Even the branch of your bank is not KL, you still can use the above swift code that ended with 'KL' because 'KL' representing Kuala Lumpur as the HQ for these banks, so the swift code for the HQ can be applied to all the branch in Penisular Malaysia.
