If you still have time and you can't check them with the airline (normally airline allow a carry on and at least one checked bag for international flights), you can have them freight mailed for relatively cheap. You'll pay by the pound, so it's contingent on the weight of your clubs. Additionally, it may be the most convenient, easiest and safest way to just pay the baggage check fee (if one even applies).
