can the electric company intercep my tax return
wondered if you owe a large amount of money to the electric company can they intercept your tax return
They will not be able to physically stop your tax return from entering your mailbox. However, depending on who owns/runs your electric company information may be shared with certain cities or government. Additionally, if the account has moved to collections and a legal battle ensues further issues would possibly arise.
The answer to the ? is NO, they have no authority to do that!!
Only the government can intercept your tax refund. However, if the electric company or its collection agency sues you, they can get a bank garnishment order and garnish the funds from your tax refund directly from your bank account after you've cashed it.
