The JP Morgan Chase name refers to the merging of the two companies (Chase and JP Morgan) and the fact that it is followed by the initials "NA" refers to the company after its merger with Bank One. The "NA" in JPMorgan Chase Bank, NA stands for "National Association". This refers to the charter that the bank is affiliated with. When JPMChase merged with Bank One it only had a New York state charter but before the merger took place it changed its charter to a national one due to the fact that Bank One was already under a national charter.
