Can I deduct expenses I incur in the process of volunteer work?
I write a blog on the city council and school board. The city clerk prints off agenda packets for me and I pay for the copies. I also volunteer for the library by designing and writing their newsletter; could I deduct ink and paper if I have to print them out?
You should be able to, that is a legitiment reason for costs as long is it isn't things like gas and travel.
