Was your insurance claim refused because of mis-spelling of policy holder's name
Have any of you had an insurance claim refused because the name of the policy-holder (the insured) was wrongly spelled?
If you have been paying regular premiums for an accident policy over a number of years, and, for example the name was spelt Cliffe when it should have been Cliff, was your accident claim successful, or did the insurance company wriggle out of paying? And what was the final outcome?
When insurance documents arrive in the post, it is your resposibility to make sure all the details are correct. So the insurance company could technically refuse the claim if these were incorrect.
So, as a claim has not actually been necessary, could I cancel the policy on the basis that it is void or invalid, and recover all premiums paid to date?
Hi Diana, with you being the solicitor you probobaly know more than myself, but again, technically if you could prove that the information you sent was correct and theirs wasn't then the law would fall on your side because that would be their mistake
