To me, being financially free means having enough money to cover the bills, with a little left over for entertainment.
I also like to have some savings in the bank to cover emergencies, and to own nothing to anyone.
For me, that's financial freedom!
Financial freedom is complicated and simple at the same time. In order to be free you must decide "What is an amount I am comfortable with living on?". For example let's just say you need $40,000 a year to be comfortable. You need to save $1,000,000 and live off of 4% of the interest each year. You will no longer have to work. They you are truly free. Look up Mr. Money mustache's "Simple math behind retirement" and it will explain it all.
