A Few Things That President Barack Obama Has Never Done to Me

Updated on September 20, 2014

Looking back

Then-Presidential candidate ran his campaign with class, dignity and with an humble demeanor about him when he was overwhelmingly-elected to replace George W. Bush as our nation’s leader. Prior to the Presidential Election, there had been subtle rumblings of discontent in certain regions of the nation that blamed Bush for the high unemployment rate among other national problems.

I do not claim to be knowledgeable about politics, but personally, these who complained about Bush and other voters viewed Barack Obama as (a) “savior” to cause a fast turn-around in America’s economics as well as the rising unemployment figures and the war in Afghanistan that was only supposed to last a few months. And we all know how that went.

President Obama tried his very best to face the nation’s looming problems beginning with the jobless rate. His “Put America Back to Work” program was good for a while and yes, the program did put many jobless Americans back to work repairing bridges and our infrastructure that had been deteriorating for some time. But as quickly as the program started, it stopped. And some groups started to mildly-complaining about Obama not solving “all” of our problems overnight.

I may be asking for trouble with my “maverick” opinion, but I think he has done the best he could do under the circumstances, Speaker of The House, John Bohner, who looks like he hates Obama, and has fought every program and decision he has made or tried to make. How do I feel about Bohner? I do not have anything for him, and by the same token, I have nothing for him either.

Right now I want to do my part to give our President a much-needed pat on the back for doing his best now going on two years. And I am sharing with you . . .

You might want to copy these 10 things down for a future

reference, so you can call me up and remind me of them

when a new President is elected in 2016.

"Thank you, my fellow Americans, for reading my friend, Kenneth Avery's hub."

10 Things That President Obama has Never Done to Me

10.) President Obama has never given me a prank phone call that would have upset me a lot.

9.) He has never visited my home and over-stayed his welcome.

8.) The President has never called me to curse me out.

7.) Obama has never put “me” in a bad light in any of his speeches.

6.) President Obama, an animal-lover himself, has never sneaked onto my property at night and abused my cats.

5.) The President has never sent his lovely wife, Michelle, our First Lady, to my house to borrow a cup of sugar.

4.) Our President has never used my personal information to get himself a credit card to buy expensive things for himself.

3.) President Obama has never “rolled my yard,” with his political cronies.

2.) Barack has never summoned me to the White House to hang-out with him.

1.) President Obama has never in his two-years in office, invited me to go on vacation with him and the family.

  • Personally speaking, Obama has never claimed to be “a” perfect President, but by him not doing any of these 10 things says to me that he cannot be all bad.

      Dear Skye,

I agree with everything you say. This was only meant for comedy. Not trashing him.

God IS soverign, omnipresent and above all past, present and future. I do pray for our president and I meant you no harm.

How wonderful it is to hear from you for earlier tonight, I was reading over the comments on the "Love Not War" poem and saw your name in the commnets. How wonderful the memories were of you following me some time last year and today, Oct. 8, I still cerish and appreciate you so very much.

Thank you for blessing me. In Jesus' Almighty name. Amen.

      Keep in touch with me.

Blessings Kenneth. I must hand it to you dear bro you put fingers to keyboard on a topic that could really get the hub comments rolling. I admire your courage. I must go with what the word of God tells us to do. He says to honor our President and support him and pray for him. Does it mean we like what he has or has not accomplished? Not necessarily. I pray he has true salvation in the one true God, Jesus Christ. God knew exactly that Mr. Obama would be President and God knows what and why He does what He does because He is sovereign, omniscient, omnipresent, everlasting God. The King of Kings our Lord God has His plan and purpose for the president and for His good purpose and glory. One day the King of Kings will rule and reign! Come quickly Jesus!! How beautiful it will be!!

I pray Obama continues to bless Israel along with ALL of the American people. And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed. Genesis 12:3

We need to keep our eyes on Jesus. He is the way truth and life. John 14:6 May the love of God be on all of your comings and goings brother. In Christ. Skye

      Dear friend, brakel2/Audrey,

How very sweet of you to leave me, of all people, such a lifted-compliment. I appreciate you and your words a lot. I do not dislike Obama. In fact, I believe I could sit down and eat a chili dog with him and still respect him as a man and as our leader.

I am still without words at your comment.

Hey, God bless you too. And if you are not following me, I invite you to do so right now. I would love to have you.

      Dear Rhonda,

You are so humble and sweet for saying words like this to me. I do admire your willpower. You are blessed with more than I have.

God bless you too for being a terrific friend and follower.

      Peace be to you.

Out of respect for the spirit of faith in humanity, the humor and the author I shall refrain from typing a rebuttal mentioning a dog that was devoured though my fingers are fighting to do so. (Hey, I delve into the political a lot).

While I love to bash the powers that be, we put him there. And, lastly, I too appreciate greatly that Michelle isn't always coming over to borrow sugar, especially since she doesn't want the school kids to have it. Funny, when it came to teaching I was more concerned about keeping the illegal white powders out of school that sugar. Sorry, my fingers couldn't resist. :) God love you for always looking for the good.

Interesting hub, Kenneth. You're right that he can't be all that bad a president.

Thank YOU! I had this situation on my mind all day long. I am not, believe it or not, about hurting and offending anyone--even through comedy. I admit it. Sometimes I can really get in "left field," and what may seem funny to me, isn't funny to another person.

Thank you sincerely for your forgiveness and understanding. I still consider you a friend and follower.

May God smile upon you for your kind gesture.

No need for such extremes, Kenneth. Sometimes I misread things. I actually wrote a paper on the topic once, believe it or not--the difficulties involved in communicating online. I concluded that I generally struggled when reading late at night and it was best to turn off the computer and read the comment again in the morning. Unfortunately, I rarely follow my own advice! Lol! Of course all is forgiven.

You should not apologize. You did not write the hub above. I take full-responsibility and ask for your forgiveness. I had much rather delete comments and the hub altogether than lose you as my friend and follower. Honest before God.

So in the future if you are wondering or even angered by my materials, I will do my best to monitor my hubs better than I have been doing.

Thank you, Darla, for being a girl of integrity.

      Your Friend,

I thought you were kidding. Honest. Even this hub was a comedy piece. I will do my best to remove these posts.

I never intended to offend you. And I apologize for you being confused. Honest to God, I am heart-sorry for the hub making you upset.

I ask that you forgive me.

      Hi, Darla,

I suspect that, like you, he has done some of these things to get to the top. I wonder if he would allow me to interview me for HP?

So why don't you go on and call him and let me know.

And thank you for your input.

      Hi, Ann,

Not one thing. I am a rural redneck who just understands half (at most) of what politicians say or do.

I can live with not knowing. Thank you for your comment.

For not being politically inclined, I thing you could almost call this political satire. Are you sure you don't know anything about politics? lol

I don't know this for certain, but I also suspect he has never tied his dog--or mine--to the top of his car for a cross-country move. However, I do suspect he used my personal identification as he stepped on people's heads to work his way up to the White House.
