9/11 Skeptics to Mark Anniversary with Vigils, Lawsuit

Skeptics of the official narrative of 9/11 have this year pledged to mark the anniversary of the attacks with vigils across the country, especially in New York, and have said they will file a lawsuit against the New York State's Attorney for failing to prosecute, upon clear evidence, a crime different from the one described in the 9/11 Commission Report. The organization The 9/11 Truth Action Project and the Lawyers' Committee for 9/11 Inquiry contend that physical laws prevent the 9/11 Commission report from being true, and that in fact the report does not even attempt to reconcile contradictions in simple physics raised by the 9/11 Commission Report.

For example, the 9/11 report stops short of describing a collapse mechanism for the lower 80 floors in each tower, both of which fell at virtual free-fall acceleration. Engineers, architects, and physicists affiliated with the 9/11 Truth Movement contend that this is impossible and violates Galileo's Law of Falling Objects, which says that objects of different mass fall at the same rate.

The unofficial description of the collapse mechanism holds that as floors piled onto each other they collapsed faster and faster. But Galileo disproved the idea that speed of fall is proportionate to mass. The rate of fall through thin air stays the same for all objects, minus usually negligible air resistance. No object can fall faster than free fall acceleration, only slower. The rate of free fall acceleration to Earth due to gravity is measured at 10 meters per second per second.

In short, the rate of collapse of the Twin Towers and Building 7 would necessarily have slowed to far less than the free fall rate due to the massive resistance of mostly intact steel frame, the challengers to the official narrative say.

9/11 Truth physicists and engineers contend that nothing accounts for the towers reaching the ground at the same time an object in free-fall would have. Office fires rarely exceed 1200F, and 9/11 Truth advocates point out that jet fuel is only kerosene, which has an open air burn temperature of less than 600F. Steel melts at 2600F, and, although steel loses strength at lower temperatures, it would have to have been almost all melted in order to accelerate toward the ground.

9/11 Truth advocates posit that the evidence shows that the attacks were far more likely to be demolitions, wired from the inside and set remotely at some point after the planes' impacts, and that, demolition-like, the buildings were cut to pieces almost simultaneously from top to bottom, as in what demolition experts call a top-down, or "banana peel" demolition. Truth advocates point out the similarity between other known top-down demolition, and the Twin Towers.

Many other coincidences such as WTC owner Larry Silverstein being rarely absent from his office in the North Tower on that morning, along with the equally rare absences of both his son and his daughter from their offices.

In addition, the Truth Action Project (TAP) and the organization Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth maintain that the official government commission describes an absurdity in its description of the mechanism which brought down Building 7, which collapsed at the same free-fall acceleration, yet was never hit by a plane.

Vigils are also confirmed in Daytona Beach, FL, Tampa, Atlanta, Boston, and Manhattan, at 425 6th Avenue.

Family members of 9/11 victims are the spearhead and public face of the call for a new investigation. One is Bob McIlvaine, who says his son Bobby Jr. was killed in the lobby of the North Tower by an enormous blast, seconds before the first plane hit. McIvaine's son's body was one of the first to be removed from the site. Mcilvaine marshalls eyewitness evidence that a bomb went off in the North Tower lobby prior to the first jet striking that Tower.

Supporting the Truth Action Project vigils is the organization Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth (AE911.) In 2007 AE911 delivered a letter to all members of Congress, which included the following points.

• Why did more than 100 FDNY first responders describe, in great detail, the sounds of explosions and flashes of light that they saw and heard at the onset, and during, the collapse?

• What was the energy source, and through what mechanism was it applied, that pulverized 400,000 cubic yards of concrete into a fine powder that blanketed Manhattan? Calculations show that the energy requirement for this was greater than the available gravitational potential energy of the structures.

• How were massive structural steel members hurled from the Twin Towers at 70 mph – some of them landing 600 feet away?

• Why were most windows within 400 feet of each tower blown out?

The Truth Action Project is supporting and working with another 9/11 Truth organization, the Lawyers' Committee for 9/11 Inquiry. The Lawyers' Committee has filed a Grand Jury Petition with the US Attorney for Manhattan, Geoffrey Berman. The petition requests that the US Attorney convey a Grand Jury to hear evidence "regarding certain federal crimes which have been committed within your district."

The Lawyers' Committee has said that, should US Attorney Berman not respond to the petition, the Committee will consider bringing a mandamus action in federal court. A mandamus action is a lawsuit that could be used to compel the U.S. Attorney to fulfill his legal duty and submit the evidence to a special grand jury.

Richard Gage, founder of Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth, notes in his presentations that 9/11 is still very much a live issue, as the entire scope and nature of the US government was drastically altered after 9/11, and the attacks have been used as justification for a massive US military presence across the Middle East, and the largest land invasion since World War II, into Iraq.

The rights of US citizens enumerated in the Constitution have been abrogated and diluted, such as the Sixth Amendment Right to a Jury Trial. In 2011 President Obama signed into law the National Defense Authorization Act of 2012, which allows the US military to arrest and detain US citizens without charge or trial, indefinitely, and hold citizens incommunicado in military prisons, upon suspicion of association with terrorism. Gage notes that new laws relating to the Global War on Terror are passing every year, and citizens' rights and freedom are being abridged, in the name of "protection" against the terrorism which began with the shock of 9/11.
