Chiquita is at the Table

Good Morning, Breakfastpoppers. Today is Tuesday, September 22, 2015. Our noisy friend, Chiquita Cicada, is here with me at the breakfast table. She can't get over the insane uproar that has been spewing from the media and the White House about 14 year old Ahmed Mohamed. Ahmed brought a homemade "clock" to school that looked more like a bomb than a clock. The police were called and Ahmed was arrested. Ahmed was cleared of all charges a short time later. Chiquita believes there is a lot more to this story than meets the eye. It just doesn't pass the sniff test. Please join us for breakfast and a discussion about our insane nation. Chiquita has baked fabulous banana muffins for our enjoyment. I will up the ante by serving Irish coffees. We hope to see you soon.

The Media's Version

Thank you all for coming to the table this morning. The Muslim teen, Ahmed Mohamed, is quite the celebrity now. According to the MSM, young Mohamed constructed a home-made clock and brought it to school to show his teachers. The teachers looked at this clock that didn't look like a clock sitting in a pencil case that looked like a suitcase and they reacted to what might have been a very dangerous situation. The police arrived and arrested the teen. He was less than forthcoming when it came to answering any questions. The media, of course, jumped all over the arrest and accused everybody of being racists. The story got a whole lot of play, but it did not get a whole lot of truth in the telling. Muslim organizations are all fired up about the incident. President Obama got wind of it and immediately invited the young "inventor" to the White House. Surely, we must all be reminded of the prejudice that lurks in the hearts of most Americans when it comes to Muslims. Just last week and many weeks before that it was blacks. Now it's Muslims. Collectively speaking, we sure are a nasty lot. At least that is what the media and the White House wants us all to believe. Ahmed's father told the nation that his son was mistreated because the "clock" incident occurred a few days after the annual commemoration of the September 11, 2001 terror attacks. The father also believes that his son was arrested because his name is Mohamed. Actually, father of Ahmed, your son was arrested because he brought a suspicious looking "invention" to school which put fear in the minds of school officials. In this insane day and age, it is best to err on the side of caution. The school did the proper thing. Handcuffing the teen might have been a bit much, but he'll get over it.

The Untold Story

There is another side to this story, a version that the MSM is not willing to report. There is another side to this story, a version that holds no interest for President Obama. There are engineers who have looked at photos of Ahmed's clock and they are not seeing a home-made clock. What they see is a fraud. The circuitry is standard radio shack fare that they believe was repackaged by Ahmed. Anthony DiPasquale, the webmaster for ArtVoice.com, was initially intrigued by the story because as a fellow "nerd" he wanted to see what Ahmed came up with. Within seconds he concluded that the "clock" was factory made. In other words, Ahmed didn't build anything. According to DiPasquale anyone with even a hobby level understanding of electronics could see that the "clock" was removed from its original enclosure and placed in a pencil box.

A Closer Look is Needed

Amid all the media frenzy and over the top actions from race baiting loons, wouldn't it make sense to look a little further into this incident? If this "clock" is a fraud why did Ahmed bring it to school? Why was it packaged in a pencil box that looked like a suitcase? Why was it tied with cable? Why did Ahmed refuse to cooperate with police? If a five year old can be suspended for eating a grilled cheese sandwich into the shape of a gun, surely Ahmed can explain himself. His instant celebrity has brought him recognition from NASA, Microsoft, MIT and the White House. He has been promised scholarships and he is certainly not the worse for wear following this incident. Let's expose all the facts in this case. What's the harm in that?
