A Three Ring Circus

Antoine Stirs the Pot

Good Morning, Breakfastpoppers. Today is Monday, October 23, 2017. Our busy friend. Antoine, is at the stove this morning preparing Pumpkin Raisin Muffins for our enjoyment. He has asked me to invite all the Poppers to breakfast this morning. Politics as usual is getting more and more unbearable, and Antoine needs to vent. Won't you join us?

It's Not That Funny

Thanks so much for joining POP and me at the breakfast table. Does a single day go by that doesn't find the MSM and the left wing Democrats tearing President Trump apart? The answer, as you well know, is never. Criticizing the president has become a national pastime enjoyed by extremely uninformed media outlets, politicians, misled citizens and paid protestors. The political climate is toxic, and if things don't get back to some semblance of normalcy, I can only imagine and fear for what our future holds. The unappreciated and under reported fact is that President Trump is succeeding very well under extremely trying circumstances. His generals are defeating ISIS, his reversal of Obama era regulations has freed up the economy and most people are optimistic about the future. The stock market is booming, business is picking up, unemployment is down and our economic numbers are looking good. Of course, anyone wed to media outlets such as NBC, CBS, ABC, CNN, MSNBC and the New York Times would be completely unaware of any of President Trump's accomplishments. Those people that control the media and the minds of many voters would prefer to see this president and our country fail then ever give him the credit he deserves. That fact alone speaks volumes about what is in their hearts and minds.

Political correctness, which is a politically correct term for ignorance, is sweeping the land. In its wake we are left with decisions that put all of us at risk. A perfect example of PC run amok is taking place in Portland, Ore. The police are emptying their database of suspected gang members because they fear that labels such as "gang member" will negatively affect minorities. Apparently, the authorities in Portland believe that less information is preferable. Perhaps they should all go back to the police academy and re-learn proper techniques for effective law enforcement. In the meantime, their hands will be tied, the people of Portland will be less safe, and the gang members will catch a break. Life is good if you belong to a gang. If you don't, it's not that good, but too bad.

A Disgraceful Display

In the center ring of our circus stands Rep. Frederica Wilson. The cowgirl somehow inserted herself, ala Al Sharpton, into the tragic death of Sgt. Johnson. She used this tragedy to ramp up her hatred of the president, and she did so at the expense of the fallen soldier and his grieving family. In a saner word, she would be booted out of Washington. She has betrayed her constituency, Sgt. Johnson, his family and a nation that feels the pain of his death. If not for the heartfelt words of General John Kelly, her behavior would have been even more painful. Of course, the disgusting media managed to criticize General Kelly for his comments, but those who know better respect his message, and his own experience as a Gold Star father. I long for the day when saner and kinder minds prevail.

Clowns in the Classroom

We send our kids to school in the hope that they will learn how to survive in this very complicated world. Perhaps we need to pay more attention to who is in the classroom charged with educating our children. The classroom has also become infected with the disease of Political Correctness. The Philadelphia Inquirer reported that police were called into an end of school party at the William P. Tatem Elementary School in Collingswood, New Jersey. A "teacher" overheard a 9 year old student discussing "brownies." The brilliant educator determined that the child was being racist. It never crossed the teacher's mind to imagine that the child was talking about baked goods! In idiotic fashion, the teacher did what she thought best under the circumstances. She called in the police! Should this teacher be instructing children? The answer is no, she should not. In a saner world, she would be dismissed. I long for that day.

An Ugly Trend

If we are to return to some semblance of sanity in our nation, we need to let the calmer and saner voices control the dialogue. We cannot allow people like Rep. Wilson to take over the air waves. We cannot allow teachers who call the police on a nine- year old into our classrooms. We cannot permit community pressure to influence police departments like that in Portland. There are plenty of decent people in our nation, but they don't make for good headlines. I think it's time they should.

Antoine's Song

Let's go sane children of the homeland

The day of reckoning has arrived!

      Good Morning Pino,

Actually, this president has accomplished quite a bit despite all the revenge opposition from both parties. He eliminated over 900 hundred pain in the rear regulations that crippled business and individuals. The VA can now fire all the losers that were killing our vets, the size of government is shrinking, he has a realistic approach to the UN, his response to calamity is fast and effective, and I believe we are going to get tax reform. There is so much more, but you get the picture. The one thing he has to move on more effectively is draining the swamp and exposing the Deep State. See you at the Inn.

      POP and Antoine:

Sorry I missed this blog last week.

I never liked political correctness. When the word brownie is said, when do we first think of an African American????? Betty Crocker would be shocked!

All the main street media say when someone lists President Trumps' accomplishments is: where is the legislation he promised? Are you kidding me? Who is stopping him?

      Congress!

Well, I am off to the Inn for a taste of sanity!

      Dear brad,

I will go with reality. Yes, we have many problems, but we also have a fairly decent quality of life compared to other countries. I agree with you when you say it is up to the people to change things. We did just that when we elected Donald Trump. The establishment can't accept it, but that is their problem. As for the deep state, we have to demand investigations that scour out the garbage. We have made some progress, but we need much, much more. The Trump administration has to get rid of the problem people in the State department, and the same is true of the FBI, the IRS and the VA. If Hillary was elected we wouldn't stand a chance. Maybe we do now. See you at the Inn.

      Thanks.

As for the Clintons and their track record, nothing is going to happen to them. For decades now, Hollywood has been doing plots about various aspects of the "shadow gov". Most people including myself just thought of it as a story. But the last 30 years is understandable, if not the last 100 years as the real existence of a shadow gov.

But, I will continue to blame the American People, both the voters and none voters. Without them neither the shadow gov nor the extremists in both political parties would have any real power.

Once again, neither party has had any solutions, but both parties have contributed to the problems of the US. Yet, like local sports fans, the people keep treating their party as a nostalgic faction akin to how they support their sports teams.

The problem is there is only one congress, and that should be our team. And if there is any use for the congress, they should be judged and dealt with based solely on their accomplishments for country and the people. Too date there has been too little or no real accomplishments.

War and military prowess has been the main activity, and it has been treated as an accomplishment. On the other extreme is the purported Robin Hood scheme to distribute the wealth of the people to everyone else rather than based on contributions from these other people. The reasons why this exists are many and varied but the root cause is politics and the people that support politicians.

Until the American people can change for the better, the country cannot change for the better. For example, instead of people focusing on health insurance, why don't they demand that major diseases, especially Cancer, and auto immune diseases be cured.

Curing major diseases would directly Reduce the cost of medical care. Currently, we have only seen very expensive and long term treatments. This just increases the cost of the health care. Yes, there have been major advances in surgical procedures, but these are remedies, and not cures.

My personal opinion is that there is a common root cause to these diseases, and by finding the root, many of these diseases can be arrested and later prevented. Consider, that in my understanding the last major disease that was cured was Polio. BTW, after that the FDA was chartered by Congress to oversee the drugs entering the market. It costs about $800 million to get FDA approval. And after approval, the lawyers come out and sue the drug companies. Lastly, the FDA has no testing facilities of its own, they merely use the data given to them by the drug companies.

      Rant or reality?

      Thanks for the opportunity.

      Good Morning brad,

You have been missed, but I am sure your hiatus from politics has done you a world of good! There have been changes, a big one dropping today that the Clinton campaign paid for the phony Trump dossier. I would love to see her and her husband in an orange jumpsuit. See you at the Inn, brad and we'll talk some more.

It is very hot and windy here in Southern Ca. People? are cool because the Dodgers are in the Series. People seem to care more about sports than the country. Diversions like sports are OK but it has to be offset with as much enthusiasm for the country.

There is little significance associated with which team wins or loses the series, yet there are those sports fans that attach even a life or death value to it. At the same time most people seem to ignore the real game of life for the US.

I have not heard or seen any of the news local, national or international for the last 5 months. So I am no better than the people that follow the news.

My point is that there is no desire for the people to make the country better today. I doubt if anything has changed during my 5 months of news avoidance.

The US has been engaged in wars on a continuous basis for the last 100 hundred years. We didn't win any of them, I have mentioned this for a very long time. It has to do with the definition of winning.

Take for example the World War, from 1914-1918, it didn't start as WWI. It was the war to end all wars. WWII didn't end the wars, in fact, it stimulated many of them.

We seem to be on the verge of continuing this losing streaks of wars.

Your article shows the results of changing American traditions and lifestyles. People today are a commodity for both corporations, and the politicians. Our country and economy is focused on people being marketing targets. In politics, we the people are political pawns, and in the consumer economy we are the commercial fish.

The US makes very little, instead we market and sell the products created off our shores. There is big business in collecting ALL the information possible on all of us. The two biggest areas of the US economy beside defense are Health and Information Technology.

The Information Technology (IT) is being used with various methods of tracking everything we do, so that this information can be sold to companies of all types to sell us things. Data Mining is one huge industry that IT has to buy hardware and software. It never stops and as technology gets faster, and has more data capacity, the systems are upgraded.

This in my opinion is not a valid economy, it is an incestuous one.

Look at the imports into the US versus what we output!

What are the goals and assets of the US, as seen from the different viewpoints such as the military, the politicians, big business, the voters etc. And can these different viewpoints be collated into uniform value called the American Way?

As usual feel free to delete this for any reason.

Keep your friends working for us.

      Good Morning Robert,

It's raining here, as well and I like it! I wish a dose of intelligence would rain down on Washington so that we can get things done. I am at the point where I believe most of those in Congress should seek another profession. See you at the Inn. Bring an umbrella!

Good afternoon BP and Antoine, its raining cats and dogs on Green River, fogs and squirrels are seeking higher ground. Wouldn't it be great if as much effort was put into trying to get along with the President as has been the negative attacks since he won the election. Sad those whose main objective is the continued demise of our great country. The reason the man is in the White House is because this country was tired of the game of politic and politicians. My how it hurts when a doze of reality sets in and the status quo gets a dose of wake up tonic. Great article!

      Good Morning Paula,

And history also shows that after the irreparable harm is done, it happens all over again as a result of our failure to learn from our past mistakes. It's exhausting, isn't it? See you at the Inn. I'll save you a seat.

Morning pop & Antoine. I can only reiterate, as I have all along, (repeatedly). From the very onset, when a stunningly ignorant "group" of crazies, introduced the dangerous & outrageous concept of PC, I made it crystal clear this would create more & more chaos & destruction. I have & will continue to reject this madness, while the insane PC warriors bring more bizarre behavior, untold dysfunction, divisiveness & failure.

History always proves it takes the result of irreparable harm before imbeciles accept and admit they are fatally WRONG.

Here's wishing you a calm & productive week, pop. Paula

Once upon a time SNL and other shows were funny and innovative. Now they are mean spirited and boring. Real life in Washington is mean spirited as well, but not as boring. See you at the Inn where things are never mean spirited or boring!

      Pop and Antoine,

While reading your offering this morning I formed a theory. The reason for the lack of comedy in week day late night TV and SNL is that their writers cannot compete with the constant shenanigans of politicians and the MSM and have quit trying.
