A WIN FOR TRUMP: Is A Step Back For Minorities, And The Death Of America's Civil Liberties

Updated on May 26, 2017

"Make America Great Again"

"Make America great again", no doubt a very catchy phrase, the campaign slogan that the current Republican President Elect used to fire up support from Millions of Americans however, based on History America has never been great for a majority of the Population. Those of who have lived racism, and bigotry in America; watched as perhaps I did; with open mouth wide-eyed incredulity. As Convention Centers filled to capacity chanted this theme. One thing was very obvious the People who comprised these groups were all Caucasian. Trump's campaign and his irresponsible behavior fueled the already angry crowd.

They the crowd placed blame for missed opportunity, job loss, lack of income, failing economic infrastructure, squarely on the shoulders of Immigrants. The far-reaching implications being: there was to be no self-blame or Personal responsibility.

An Immigrants Perspective

I speak for all Immigrants those who have led the way from the landing of Pilgrims at Plymouth Rock, to Immigrant's who brave the difficult crossing by Land or by Sea all in want of a better way of Life. For the Irish, Italians, the Jews, (though they may have forgotten, as greed has blinded them to reality), and by default, the African's who were brought to America by force. We with the exception of Indigenous People are all immigrants or Children, and Grandchildren of Immigrants. We are not owners of nor will we maintain our hold on this Land after death. It, this Land we fight for, that we deny others access to, that has seen the blood of Ancestors shed and saturated its soil. This Land, when we depart will continue its cycle and will be here; even after we are no longer in existence.

An immigrant though Legally( Meaning all proper channels were adhered to prior to immigration), I attended School in Mt. Vernon, graduated and with dreams attended College in New York. The stubborn Child of Jamaican Parent's there was no doubt that college was my future, after all, that was the reason behind our immigration, otherwise, why would anyone in their right mind want to leave Jamaica or any other third World Country, or any other Country for that matter if not for opportunities. We leave behind our Culture, our Families, and Friends, all in pursuit of a better Life. It is that purpose, and goal driven objective that made me the Woman that I am, despite anything else that could possibly and did go wrong, my own personal drive led me to this point.

America has taught and continues to teach me about Fairness, and impartiality even as it sees it's own Democracy threatened. America with all its faults has taught me about Equal Rights, and Freedom of Speech, It has emboldened me to speak out for Justice and Fairness and to fight for those who perhaps cannot fight for themselves, this is emblematic of a free Society.

It is with this emboldened spirit, that I decry: Immigration is not a problem that leads to lack of opportunities for People residing in a Country that is rife with opportunities. It is due in the majority of cases to lack of or inability of individuals to set goals and follow through, it is not taking advantage of Continued Education, Job training, and in some cases lately retraining; it is a lack of attempting to or accessing services that are available. Individual Failure is not due to immigrant's, it is the absence of Will of an individual to try.

What causes failure:

1. Inability to use good judgment.

2. Lack of skills or knowledge to rebound from our personal failures.

3. Lack of Motivation to work or study beyond what is considered Normal hours.

4. Bad decision making policies on the part of Government.

The economic decline is as a result of Drug Trafficking/Use, NAFTA, an ongoing War on Terror in the Middle East, Corporate Banking System greed, and the decline in Social Security for our Elderly Population and at the crux of it all, My generation. Baby boomers, We created a Society of overindulgence, we gave little or no thought to deforestation, harmful emissions, and our need for bigger and better, easier access to things. We have managed to almost deplete our environment of Natural resources, and what we now are leaving our Children is an enormous burden they cannot sustain.

Reagan Trickle Down Economic Program

Reaganomics or as critic's of Reagan's Policy define it. " Trickle down economics" saw its start in 1982 and was based on the principle that if corporations do well then that Wealth should make its way into the American household. Although in theory, it may have made sense it was not a well thought out plan, as what we basically had was a cut in Social programs, and a cut in Government funded Education, to aid in the Iran- Iraq war.

Millions of U.S. dollars was funneled to supply weapons to drug Lords to aid in the release of Hostages. Iran-Contra affair, in U.S. history, secret arrangement in the 1980's to provide funds to the Nicaraguan Contra rebels from profits gained by selling arms to Iran. Reagan was driven by a different obsession. "He had become frustrated at his inability to secure the release of the seven American hostages being held by Iranian terrorists in Lebanon. As president, Reagan felt that he had the duty to bring those Americans home, and he convinced himself that he was not negotiating with terrorists". (PBS)

Oliver (Ollie ) North was almost the scapegoat for much of that Deal. Acting under direct orders from then President Reagan he secretly transferred Millions of Dollars to Contra rebels. Lieutenant Colonel Oliver North of the National Security Council explained the discrepancy: he had been diverting funds from the arms sales to the Contras, with the full knowledge of National Security Adviser Admiral John Poindexter and with the unspoken blessing, he assumed, of President Reagan.(PBS)

The gutting of Social Security, and Education Funding, saw the Banks gaining leverage, American's saw an increase in lending rates as it concerned Student, and Home Loans, they did what any Corporation in an open market would do, they capitalized. Reaganomics although well intentioned, can and has been compared to a Pyramid Scheme. The 1%. receiving all the benefits with the expectancy that Wealth would be shared and distributed to the American workers.

The War on Drugs (Just Say No)

The need for more weapons saw the U.S.A borders open to the distribution of drug's in the black and poor neighborhood. Cocaine flowed freely. It was never the intent for the drugs to be distributed to or sold to Children of Wealth and privilege, however, that plan also backfired and White suburbia was affected. Reagan signed the National Crusade for a Drug-Free America, in 1986. The Incarceration rate skyrocketed and a need for more prisons was the solution. The Man responsible for opening up the borders to the sale of drugs was now finding it difficult to control.

The cut in Social security budget saw Millions of Elderly Retired returning to work. During his second Term of office to make up for the loss in Social Security, Reagan implemented changes to the retirement age extending it from 60 -62 to help with the number of People reaching retirement age. The increase in the cost of Living forced our elderly population to continue to work, or forced them back into the work. It was also the turning point for the decline in employment opportunities for our Young People, and also created a new breed of workers who though financially able to retire: were declining too. With no thought as to the need of the younger generation. Gone was forced retirement the threat of age discrimination now a valid Legal defense.

America was not great there was still racism, xenophobia, however subtle; Immigration was accepted. Only as it helped to stimulate votes for the Republican Party.

The Clinton Era: America Wasn't Great But There Was Hope

Former President Clinton, made some really bad decisions overall he did what he thought was best for the American People. He has been compared to John Kennedy as far as policies are concerned, and for Black American's it appeared to be true. We loved him, his ability to converse with People of differing backgrounds, his affair with Monica Lewinsky did little to damage his reputation as President. To us it made him more Human a majority of American's felt it was an intrusive look into what may have been embarrassing for the Former First Lady, truth be told we were more concerned about the State of America, and it's economy.

Don't Ask Don't Tell

This was the turning point for Gay People who wanted to be of service to the Military while not illegal to ask it was still impossible for a Service Man or Woman to enter Military service if they were Gay or Transgender. It did, however, give them the right to refuse to answer questions regarding their sexual orientation.

America was rife with crime, the streets were awash with drugs from Marijuana to rock Cocaine, Heroine, every drug could be had on the streets. Young People were being incarcerated at a high rate, crime was on the rise. As Prisons started to fill, there appeared to be a need for more Prisons. The wealthy, and economically stable could afford drug treatment facilities, but for poor and People of Color, the same could not be said. State and Federally funded Rehabilitation Facilities had long waiting Lists.

Three Strikes Policy (Clinton's 1994 Crime Bill)

Hind site is 20/20- in retrospect, we had no idea this crime bill would lead to the incarceration of or unfair sentencing of laws we now see Today. I cannot impart how freely drugs flowed or the death and devastation it caused Families. We all worried about our minor Children. The School D.A.R.E. program saw police officers, the member of D.A.R.E meeting with Children as young as 5 years old in School as well as in other Social settings to discuss the negative aspect of drugs, a continuation of the "just say no" initiative started by Former First Lady Nancy Reagan. Every Parent was concerned sadly we all cheered the Law, not realizing that it would be a start to the selling of young People into Adult Prison system. We were just good Parent's that were concerned and had no idea that the Judges, Lawyers, Police officers would ever abuse their power of Authority in such a depraved manner.

The three strike's policy made absolute sense at the time. The assumptions being that the crimes would be for serious criminal activities: Child abuse, Murder, Armed robbery, Child predators, Rapist, anything that involved inflicting death or dismemberment. No one thought it would involve petty crimes. It did just what it was intended to do. The rate of Criminal activities dropped but at what cost? It was just the beginning of the establishment of more privately owned Prisons, and the start of corruption and unfair sentencing Laws for Juveniles. Employment was on the rise, we had Companies moving their business to the U.S., and for the first time since Reagan, the deficit was at a surplus. No War except on drugs, Bill Clinton would end two terms as one of the greatest Presidents to serve the American People. That is until George Bush Jr. made the Global Population aware of NAFTA, and more Jobs than ever started leaving America.

NAFTA- North America Free Trade Agreement

NAFTA- is a Trade deal which involved free trade between Canada, Mexico, and the United States. It aimed to open up more business opportunities between the three Countries, to stimulate economic growth. It worked well for the Countries involved half of the oil supplied to the U.S.A., comes from Mexico, A bilateral Agricultural growth between Canada and U.S., and steady economic growth for the triad. As it related to Mexico growth through the partnership was in the form of assembly. Factories used Mexico to complete the tedious job, that most American took for granted. There was a slow indistinguishable leak of manufacturing/assembly plants closing and relocating not only cheap Labor, but American's refused those jobs.

In 2001 approximately 80% of America's assembly jobs were now being done in Mexico.I still recall the Press Conference in Which George Bush Jr. proudly lauded the detail regarding free and open Trade it was then that we experienced what could only be described as a mass exodus. China, India, Japan, Korea saw their job market increase. News reports detailed each company as they closed up Offices and manufacturing plant's in the U.S.A., abandoning Employees to suffer the consequences of job loss. The Auto Industry had the greatest impact on the failing economy. The decline in employment saw an increase in the cost of the product's to consumers. The middle class and poor suffered, as we carried the burden of a higher Tax spike. The Bank's moved quickly to capitalize.

Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) The War for Oil

9/11/01 (911) We must never forget the innocent Lives lost. In total 2,977 People lost their Lives that Day, along with 19 hijackers. This was the prelude to the War in Iraq a fight for liberating Kuwait. The war officially started on March 20, 2003, "with the invasion of Iraq by the United States -led Coalition that toppled the government of Saddam Hussein. The conflict continued for much of the next decade. An estimated 151,000 to 600,000 Iraqis were killed in the first 3–4 years of conflict. The United States officially withdrew from the country in 2011 but left private security contractors in its place to continue the war. It again became re-involved in 2014 at the head of a new coalition; the insurgency and many dimensions of the civil armed conflict continue". (Wikipedia- The Iraq War)

America was not battling an economic depression, the price of Oil went from $1.25 in the South and Midwestern Areas to $2.50 and above, cost varied based on Location, States Like California, and New York saw gas prices at up to $5.00. Over the next 3 Years, we would see a steady increase, as dictated by supply and demand, the cost of Living increased as did consumable goods. By the end of 2006, we were fully in a decline.

The 2nd. Great Depression

More People were unemployed than ever before, America was in chaos Families lost homes, rent on properties increased. R.V. (recreational vehicle)sales increased as people were purchasing them at an alarming rate for use as primary homes, even as the cost to own one also increased. Homelessness was on the rise, Parents forced from their comfortable way of life were forced to live under bridges with their minor Children. Food banks were stretched thin, Meals on wheels which provided meals to the (elderly, the economic disenfranchised, and People unable due to disability; Mental or physical), who were unable to leave their homes, saw a declined in their ability to provide these necessary services.

America was angry over the Loan the U.S.A. borrowed from China, while our Soldiers were fighting for the right to oil. No one expected China to purchase the oil from Afghanistan, leaving our economy to pick up the strain of a war that had cost us so many human lives. America was shafted, to say the least, the deal for Oil was never brokered between U.S.A. and the middle East. instead, what we were left with were images of Soldiers, coming back with mental problems, loss of limb and hundred's of coffins of dead Children shrouded with the American flag.

Economists predict that it will take our Grandchildren's, Children to pay back a debt created by then President George Bush.

The state of the economy should be placed squarely on the shoulders of the Republican Party(GOP). Because of greed, American's lost their comfortable foothold on the still fledgling economy. We were no longer a superpower, instead, as job's left U.S.A. we saw an increase in Job growth in China.

The War left us with a 2 Trillion dollar debt. "The U.S. debt to China is $1.115 trillion, as of October 2016. That's 29 percent of the $3.841 trillion in Treasury bills, notes, and bonds held by foreign countries. The rest of the $19.9 trillion debt is owned by either the American people or by the U.S. government itself". (The economist)

America, although not great became even worse we started seeing more of a racial divide, the unfair treatment of Gay and transgender People. Mexican immigrants, however, were still holding onto their status.

The President For All People

The H.N.I.C. (I remember that speech quite well a jocular fellow our President)

Yes, he brought humor, watermelon, fried chicken, basketball, and the fist bump to the White House. He is first and foremost a Father to two beautiful, intelligent Daughters, and Husband of Michelle Obama.

But who exactly is the Man that graced the halls, and left America better just by having him serve? Born August 4th, 1961 in Hawaii, for those not familiar (Hawaii is the 50th State of the U.S. and has been since 1959). Barack Hussein Obama was born to a White Mother and a Kenyan Father.

"Barack Hussein Obama II was born on August 4, 1961, in Hawaii. His parents, who met as students at the University of Hawaii, were Ann Dunham, a white American from Kansas, and Barack Obama, Sr., a black Kenyan studying in the United States. Obama's father left the family when Obama was two and, after further studies at Harvard University, returned to Kenya, where he died in an automobile accident nineteen years later". As Taken from Barack Obama: Life Before the Presidency. (see article above by the same title)

Every President in History has left a Failed Policy or two to the new incoming President. Such was the case when President Barack Obama took the Oath of Office. He isn't perfect he has made mistakes one of which saw him extending the Patriot Act. However as it relates to the good of all America's People he will leave his mark in History as The Greatest President the United States has ever had, and as the President for all People.

Why Barack Obama Exemplifies Greatness

The responsibility of the President of the United States: somewhere included in that title is what a President must do, no matter the Party affiliation. If it doesn't jump out at you immediately, then maybe you should evaluate individually, your own biases. For 8 Years I watched and listened to differing points of view that criticized and taunted one of the greatest Presidents to Lead the American People. Black American's, Caucasian's, Native American's, and other People of differing National origin's and Immigrant's, we have all been affected positively by having him, our current, until (1/20/2017) President Barack Hussein Obama.

What Did You Individually Expect

Some Black American's and other Minority groups, perhaps expected President Obama, upon taking office to immediately change the Caste system to immediately propel Black needs to the forefront. To develop and increase our lot in Life. With that in mind, it mattered little that the President has a difficult Job: To maintain diplomacy, to cater to the most pressing needs of Security, and the welfare of the economy, to bridge Allied Countries, all while trying to get Congress and the Senate to do what's right, as it concerns the aforementioned needs. He must as well see to the individual, and collective needs of the Citizen he was elected to serve.

While Some Caucasian's wanted him to fail, simply because of the color of his skin. It goes back to the racist belief's that Black People are not as intelligent or equipped to reason or rationalize, he was unfairly Judged and Labeled. "The Affirmative Action President", and "The Welfare President". The latter, not an insult really if reverse psychology is used can stand to mean, he presided over all the Welfare of the American People. Considering that the Majority of People who rely heavily on Aid to Families with Dependent Children (Welfare) are in fact Caucasian.

Others saw the greatness in a Man who could despite, being racially taunted, and his Citizenship questioned, despite the disrespect he faced in the Senate and Congress; kept his dignity, and still managed to keep Americas States United. If that is not the embodiment of a Great President, then I would charge all who disagree based on personal principles to disembowel, as it is clear the interest of the whole U.S.A., is not your objective but one of selfish disregard for your fellow human being.

Young People- National Origin, Race, gender, sexuality. Unimportant; wanted a voice for change, one that would be the driving force behind a fight for global warming, employment opportunities, they wanted Peace and Unity and him, Barack Hussein Obama; became just that to them. After all, who deserve it more, it is not for our generation that we need to demand change, but for our Young People. It should be the belief of every Adult to seek a President that will look towards the future and develop a cohesiveness not only globally but Nationally, for our Children, and for future generations to come. This World is not about us, our needs and want's should not supersede the needs and wants of Young People and that is what President Obama demonstrated throughout his reign as Commander and Chief.

He fought against policies that would affect Social Security, and Veteran's Interest negatively, an Activist for Gay/ Transgender right's he signed the Marriage Equality Bill, he also worked tirelessly with his staff to develop the Affordable Care Act, you say (colloquially) I prefer humorously referred to as "Obamacare", which would see Young People, People with preexisting conditions, and those who could not previously afford Health insurance be able to purchase Healthcare on the open Market, His interest and belief in the Environment and global change makes him the epitome of the President for All People.

Putting The Longstanding Welfare Myth To Rest.

Ask any Caucasian that has never bothered with truth, who the highest recipients of Aid to Families with dependent Children are, and they will explain Black's or African American. The truth is there are more Caucasians receiving Welfare than any other Race of People. This statistical Analysis is not done to shame nor to Label unfairly People who out of need find it necessary to use the System. However, it needs to be addressed as the Caucasian Population uses this unfair labeling practice to devalue or make inferior a certain Population of People by misquoting/ misrepresenting statistics. This unfair belief actually helps to do more harm to the Caucasian Population as they often times make decisions regarding Voting, based on this belief, that if they vote to keep Welfare they are supporting Black and other minorities. The same reasoning applies to the Affordable Care Act. Although Caucasians benefited more from the Medical Insurance, they will as we say in Jamaica "bite off their own nose to spite their face"! All in an attempt to stop paying into programs for what the consider the Minority Population.

"What Have You Done For Me Lately"

Goodness, where do I begin? I think Denzel Washington hit the nail on the head, as he so eloquently stated. “I think that he served with dignity, strength, patience, and I think he did a great job. He didn’t get a lot of credit. But just for not cracking under pressure… that alone, you know…”

Washington went on to say that he had to pay homage to generations of black men and women whose fights for racial equality were essential to making a black presidency even possible. Ultimately he recognizes that the struggle for Civil Rights, the historic presidency of Obama, and the legacy Obama is leaving behind are too much for one person to sum up. Washington gracefully admitted, “It’s bigger than what I can say.” (Marisa Manfredo)

However, let me try in so far as only my limited abilities will allow.

1. We have seen a steady decrease in the oil prices.

2. A rise in employment

3. Decline in Housing market interest rate

4. Veteran's benefit's and Social Security increase.

5. Millions of American's able to afford medical coverage.

6. A steady increase in small independent Business owners able to have tax burden relief

7. A return of job's previously outsourced (Auto Industry especially, Call Center jobs)

8. Our Loan to China decrease.

9. A stock Market which saw it's decline under Bush Junior is improving

10. Our Children though still fighting in the Middle east, a Withdrawal of majority U.S.A. Military presence.

11. The deficit is showing growth, considering what was heralded as being an impossibility

As Congress bullied and tried to enact policies that would see Social Security gutted, and Women's rights absolved. President Obama, put up one hell of a fight for the America workers as they the Republican Party shut down Congress. It is because of our Democratic Congress, and because of President Obama that Soldiers and government employees, City, State, and Federal still receive their pay. In order to cast votes to benefit our Families, and our generation it is necessary to have access to credible Media coverage. We should never rely on another person's opinion but must get it directly from the source. We must hold our media to a higher standard, we have no need for what has become prevalent of late especially on CNN or Fox news. Other People telling us how we should think and feel. We must hold these seemingly unbiased type of reporting accountable. Just broadcast the fact's nothing else.

Liberties We Take For Granted

November 2016

The Election Process created quite a rift Nationwide. President Elect Trump is a Man lacking in finesse, he is uncouth, and a bully, his inability to communicate effectively and with Humanitarian well-being; to all People adds to the disdain and disregard with which the majority of America views him.

What we are privy to now are Black's and other People of Color is the effects of what appears to be a bigger racial divide. Us against them, a prelude to what is now an economic Civil War, as well as a war to protect our environment, and if one is to be truly credible truth be told a verbal war based on division by color, gender, and sexuality.

We rarely ever need to examine what our individual rights are, we all assume that just based on the fact that we are Human's we are free to express or to have certain Rights or to enjoy the Liberties as is afforded to everyone. What are these Rights, or Civil Liberties?

Our Rights- as guaranteed under the Bill of Rights, as written in the United States Constitution.

Our Civil Liberties are - Those Liberties each State guarantees as interpreted by courts and lawmakers; they are rights or freedoms given to the people by the First Amendment to the Constitution, by common law, or legislation, allowing the individual the following without Government interference or control:

Right to peaceful assembly
Right to bear arms
Right to be free from cruel and unusual punishments
Right to privacy
Right to freedom of the press
Right to a jury trial
Right to freedom of religion
Right to travel freely
Right to freedom of speech
Right to be free from self-incrimination
Right to marry
Right to be free from unreasonable searches and seizures of your property
Right to legal counsel
Right to vote

The inaction of American's to defend and speak up against atrocities against our Civil Liberties as it concerns a particular group. Will ensure that all our rights will be affected eventually. The aptest, description of how inaction affects and worms its way into every fiber of Society Came out of Post-War Germany. Niemöller was a vociferous advocate against Hitler a Protestant Priest who saw 7 Years in the concentration camp for speaking out against the atrocities he experienced. The Poem below is an internal reflection and summarizes Martin's inaction during the slaughter of the Jewish People.

First, they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—

Because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

By Martin Niemöller

Donald Trump oblivious to the rights of the press continues to berate and disregard Journalism, maybe the President-Elect is not familiar with the Civil Liberties as it relates to freedom of the press.

"CNN Senior White House Correspondent Jim Acosta stood pleading with Trump to acknowledge his question, referencing earlier attacks made by Trump and his press secretary about the accuracy of a CNN report detailing Trump’s ties to Russia. Mr. President-elect, since you have been attacking our news organization, can you give us a chance?” Acosta yelled above the scrum of reporters".

“No! Not you. No! Your organization is terrible,” the President-elect shot back. When Acosta persisted in shouting for recognition, Trump pointed a finger at him and said, “Don’t be rude. No, I’m not going to give you a question.” Columbia Journal Review: Pete Vernon

The Rise Of Fascism Or The Start Of A Monarchy

Merriam-Webster dictionary defines Fascism as A political system headed by a dictator in which the government controls business and labor and the opposition is not permitted. (noun), An authoritarian and nationalistic right-wing system of government and social organization.

Authoritarian: Favoring complete obedience or subjection to authority as opposed to individual freedom.

It cannot be swept under the rug, the current Elected President has unleashed a storm it's magnitude unclear at this time. what is, however, clear, is Women, Minorities, People with Disabilities, and the Gay Population, to include Transgender population will not "go silently into the good Night".

According to Cornel West, Professor emeritus at Princeton University had this to say regarding Donald Trump, "Well, I think he’s already betrayed working people in terms of making sure, in his view, that Wall Street is in the driver’s seat. And what I mean by that is, is that in an emerging neofascist moment, you have the rule of big business, which is big banks and big corporations. You scapegoat the most vulnerable. It could be Muslims, Mexicans, gay brothers, lesbian sisters, indigenous peoples, black people, Jews and so on. And then you also have militaristic orientations around the world. And so, you see the extension of the repressive apparatus, as those of us who hit the streets, those of us who have been willing to go to jail, we’ve had to recognize we’ll have more coming at us under a Trump administration". https://www.democracynow.org/2016/12/1/cornel_west_on_donald_trump_this

The only ones who seem unaffected by his constant barrage of tweets and adult tantrums are the People lacking the ability to see other than self-interest. The self-professed members of Alt Right, Members of the K. K. K., some top 1 percenters, and unfortunately those who stand to have the biggest loss.

Donald Trump is ill-equipped to run a Country; America is not a business nor is it a corporation. America is a Country consisting or living breathing organisms, with different physical needs, and different attitudes and value Systems. We are Human's not inanimate objects a chair around a conference table to be taken out, moved around and used at will; we are People! People that rely heavily on the environment to sustain our continuation of life, People who rely on Health coverage, Immigration, and yes Women in the workforce in order to support ourselves as well as our Families.

We have had to come to terms with his Cabinet picks a hodgepodge of Wealthy majority Caucasians, all having an agenda, not consistent with what most American's needs or want.

Attorney General -Jeff Sessions is just one of the Cabinet picks that has some mystified. In 1986 Sessions was deemed too Racist to sit for a position as Federal Judge. It is arguably the most controversial pick.

Department Of The Treasury

While the banks were foreclosing on homes, Banking executives were taking hefty forced retirement incomes. American's who were now homeless I'm positive didn't think America was great. With the exception of People who fit into the top 1%. One of them being Steven Mnuchin.

"the former Goldman Sachs executive whom President-elect Donald Trump tapped to head the Department of the Treasury, drew intense criticism on Thursday when it was revealed that he left out $100 million in assets on the financial disclosure form he submitted, as is required for cabinet nominees. According to the Washington Post, Mnuchin’s missing $100 million is attributed to a corporation in the Cayman Islands, which is perhaps the most notorious overseas tax haven in the world". (Occupy Democracy)

Other than corporate greed I'm starting to wonder if Trump's Cabinet Picks are there to pay homage to America for the wrongs they have committed? Nah! Sorry, just a momentary lapse in judgment.

See full article as it relates to Mnuchin- http://usuncut.com/politics/elizabeth-warren-steve-mnuchin-tweet/

As People we are different, yet similar in the most important ways, and we require a President that is willing to work towards and continue to or make better this Great Nation. There are those of us that had hopes, that as the Day's progressed there would be some drastic change in tone or action that would indicate, or present a Unifying decree, however as is ever prevalent, even as we hoped, what we have now grown accustomed to is a message not of unification, but of selective Human gentrification;

Gentrification: For the purpose of this article I take liberty with the word gentrification which under normal circumstances would mean taking a dilapidated house restoring it and thus increasing it's value, above market Price driving up the cost so only a select few can afford it. This is the premise under which Donald Trump won the Election. His Business acumen relies heavily on purchasing Property in decline refurbishing them and increasing their value driving up cost in Neighborhoods in which the average Person cannot afford the Taxes thereby forcing them to relocate.

Selective Human Gentrification: As coined for by me would, therefore, stand to mean. The running of American People having (legal or illegal rights to tenancy ); as a business/corporation driving out all who are considered undesirable to make way for those considered desirable, or seen as worthy to occupy space, a select few mainly those considered worthy or Elite.

Hate RisingJorge Ramos interviews white supremacist Trump supporter Jared Taylor, before being ejected from a Trump press conference and told to "get out of my country" by one of Trump's campaign team.Trump is now bulldozing his racist, right wing agenda through at terrifying speed, as the extreme right now becomes mainstream. - The Ragged Trousered Philanderer-

Monarchy: In a constitutional monarchy, the monarch's power is limited by a constitution. But in an absolute monarchy, the monarch has unlimited power, as defined by Britannica.

It is not too far-fetched an idea as we see Trump lobbying to obtain Secret Clearance for his Adult Children, never has there been a time in Americas History of Politics has a President appointed Family to help with the running of his office, with the exception of a First Lady, although not a paid Position First Ladies will volunteer and take on a cause that will positively affect what they are passionate about. This attempt to appoint his Son- In- Law, to request that his Children be able to have access to Documents of National Security, is not only a breach of Ethics, maybe even illegal, and/or a threat to National security, but the start of obtaining absolute power a Monarchy.

What Are We Not Seeing

There really has never been a time (post-Civil Rights) when the division based on Party Affiliation has led to, hatred and verbal as well as physical abuse. It is a look at the nastiest aspect of Politics. The GOP and Democratic Parties have always had disagreements each party at some point taking its turn to have its Commander and Chief Lead this once (Democratic Principled) Country. We have always done it with Class and Panache, that is until recently. While the GOP then-Presidential nominee spewed racist, bigoted rhetoric on live televised broadcast for all to see. I started questioning if maybe I was being "punked", and fed a voice over a portion of his (Donald Trump's) campaign speech. Every Republican who (voted for Trump), that I spoke to; that watched the same broadcast on the same or other preferred channel denied that Trump made racist, sexist, or depraved indifference statements.

This two-sided view helped to create an even further division, as there were People who could and did identify that what was spewed was, in fact, racist, bigoted, and sexist. Either the People who voted for Trump just does not understand bigotry and Racism, or it is that they are not directly affected by it so it matters little.

There was a time when the New President Elect Donald Trump, could have taken a greater stand to unify the Country, to do away with the racial divisive edict that seemed to make up his campaign slogan, he instead let the opportunity go by the hate and disregard for humanity festered and what we see now is as a result of his inaction.

"Now we feel what not having hope is like", Michelle Obama. It is a sad but truthful fact that as it pertains to some segments of the population, People of color, gay, transgender, immigrants, the Disabled, white lower, to the middle class, and our young People, have always felt hopeless depending on the situation, we had an eight-year reprieve. But, the unrest we now see means that for a great many immigrant's mainly undocumented immigrant's, and their minor Children, that hopeless feeling, well for them it's back

Bill Maher, "Enjoy your victory Trump voters, because when you’re dying because You don’t have health insurance to treat the infection you got from a back alley abortion you had to get; because of fetal lead poisoning, you can say to yourself, at least I didn’t vote for someone with a private email server".

Most of us who did not vote for Trump continue to hold onto hope that this Nightmare will end and what we will be left with is a Man; who genuinely cares about the People he is to preside over.

Russia Taxes To Divest Or Not To Divest: That is the Question!

There is a reason behind Vetting anyone working in the Halls of Government, especially if that Position would put the Individual in a Position to be bribed by outside force or Homegrown forces. When it concerns the President of the United States, It is even more vital as it concerns National Security. There can never be an instance when outside influences, Financial debt, could interfere with or seem to cast a shadow of impropriety.

According to Conor Friedersdorf, The Atlantic: (As Taken from the Wall Street Journal )"While the president-elect’s finances remain murky, due largely to his refusal to release his tax returns, the newspaper reports that he owes at least hundreds of millions of dollars, that the debt is held by more than 150 institutions, and that some of it backed by his personal guarantee. “As a result, a broader array of financial institutions now are in a potentially powerful position over the incoming president,” it states. “If the Trump businesses were to default on their debts, the giant financial institutions that serve as so-called special Servicers of these loan pools would have the power to foreclose on some of Mr. Trump’s marquee properties or seek the tens of millions of dollars that Mr. Trump personally guaranteed the loans.”

Conor goes on to say " Trump’s decision to hold on to his opaque business empire while president, rather than liquidating his interests to focus on the good of the country, has created unprecedented conflicts of interest that even a saint would have difficulty navigating in office. In a prior column, I noted a New York Times investigation into a portion of Trump’s business dealings in foreign countries, arguing that in India, China, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Brazil, Argentina, and other countries besides, there will be countless occasions where the interests of the United States and the interests of the Trump organization diverge".

It is within Trumps best interest to divest himself of Liege to Russia, and all business ties to the Bank's, and other business holdings prior to taking Office. I argue that Trump knew full well the implications, however, he relied on the People who elected him to battle for his right to maintain his business interests. But at what cost to the American People.

According to Richard Painter “If he does not make sure that all the foreign government payments — and this includes banks and other corporations owned by foreign governments and sovereign wealth funds —that all of that money is not out of the Trump organization by Friday when he takes the oath, he will be in violation of the Constitution"

His relationship with Russia should be reason enough to make every American afraid for the integrity of this Country. If there is in fact improprieties that the Russian Government is privy to as it involves Trump, or if there are hidden Business holdings in Russia the same Ethical concerns would apply.

The Global Impact To Our Economic Future

Without active American support and participation, the machinery of global co-operation could well fail. The World Trade Organisation would not be worthy of the name. The UN would fall into disuse. Countless treaties and conventions would be undermined. Although each one stands alone, together they form a system that binds America to its allies and projects its power across the world. Because habits of co-operation that were decades in the making cannot easily be put back together again, the harm would be lasting. In the spiral of distrust and recrimination, countries that are dissatisfied with the world will be tempted to change it—if necessary by force.

What to do? The first task is to limit the damage. There is little point in cutting Mr. Trump off. Moderate Republicans and America’s allies need to tell him why Mr. Bannon and his co-ideologues are wrong. Even in the narrowest sense of American self-interest, their appetite for bilateralism is misguided, not least because the economic harm from the complexity and contradictions of a web of bilateral relations would outweigh any gains to be won from tougher negotiations. Mr. Trump also needs to be persuaded that alliances are America’s greatest source of power. Its unique network plays as large a role as its economy and its military might in making it the global superpower. Alliances help raise it above its regional rivals—China in East Asia, Russia in eastern Europe, Iran in the Middle East. If Mr. Trump truly wants to put America First, his priority should be strengthening ties, not treating allies with contempt. An Insurgent in the Whitehouse -The Economist-

Anyone who perhaps follows the stock market understands the implication of the crash of Wallstreet and the coming of a greater economic depression than previously seen. All the World powers have written a check that is not cashable. We keep the economy going based on helping each other to stabilize the economy. Our way of life is about to be impacted on a grand scale, from EPA to FDA, Immigration the rollercoaster will come to a halting crash and there appears to be very little being done We rely on Congress and Senate to act but they seem incapable of carrying out the basic description of their job.
