A woman is running for U.S. President in 2012.

Updated on June 25, 2012

Do you know her?

Jill Stein is running for President of The U.S. in 2012. It is not official yet, but she is handily leading the delegate race for the Green Party. Rosanne Barr (yes the actress), is currently in second place but does not appear to be gaining enough support and steam.

For the first time in a long time, Raulf Nader is not running for the White House. It will be interesting to see if Dr. Stein can win more votes than Nader did in 2008!

She gave a state of the union address at the same time President Obama gave his in 2012. She laid out the "New Green Deal" and her speech was what she thought the President should have been saying.

Who is Jill Stein?

Dr. Stein is a Mother, housewife, a physician, longtime teacher of internal medicine, and pioneering environmental-health advocate. She has co-authored 2 books on the environment's effect on our health.

The Chicago Native graduated magna cum laude from Harvard College in 1973, and from Harvard Medical School in 1979, and founded the Massachusetts Coalition for Healthy Communities.

She has given much of her time to non profits and her community. She has leadership and organizing experience and will campaign to bring her impressive assets to D.C.. You can check out her platform at

She currently lives in Wisconsin with her Husband Robert.

Interesting! Imagine, someone who is not a politician that may actually be honest. It will pay to keep our eye on this lady for sure.

Thanks for the input. I do not want to lay out her platform and comment on it. As the title states that is outside of this blog's focus. However, I left a link to her site so everyone can see it.

This is a good topic. Can you add more and expand this a bit to include what her platform is?
