Area 51: Fact Or Fiction?

Area 51

Area 51 is a remote detachment of Edwards Airforce Base located in the desert of Nevada. Anyone who stays up-to-date with current events knows the stories that are told about this secret area with high security and unknown missions, and yes, possibly aliens. Try to approach the base, and you will be stopped by mysterious men in a black SUV with more firepower than is needed to fight a small war. But if you were to pass the tight security and make it into the secret buildings located on the base, what would you find? Of course, many who say you will find aliens would be written off as the local crazy person looking for attention. But why is such a story so farfetched? Here are some reasons why it is possible that there is something hidden at Area 51.

Do You Believe In Aliens?

Indoctrination

From the beginning of time, governments have controlled what their people believe by telling stories. Hundreds and thousands of years ago, humans told stories about dragons, sea monsters, bigfoot, etc.. Why would this be relevant? Humans tend to believe in the people they put in charge. Imagine being one of the men in a great hall listening to the stories of a king. If he was just a mere mortal, people may not respect him the way they would a god. So the smartest of royalty would tell stories of conquering a dragon or a sea monster to make themselves seem more powerful. If he conquered a monster, why wouldn't he be able to protect a whole nation? People would fight and die for this man who may not have ever seen a lizard, let alone a dragon. The media today has capitalized on this fact. The subject of fear makes people rally behind their leaders for protection. With that being said, if the government said they are not hiding anything at Area 51, would you believe them? We have been indoctrinated to believe that anything alien does not exist on this earth, and anyone who believes in them are crazy. We've also been told that the only thing going on at that base are secret testing of new aircraft. What do you believe?

Lies or Protection?

Recently in the news you may have seen the government caught with their pants down by a man named Snowden. People were outraged because they had been lied to, and probably for a long time. Now, if you believe that it is better to have security than freedom, you may be mad at Snowden. But even Thomas Jefferson once said: "Those who would give up Essential Liberty to purchase a little Temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety." What would you rather have? The knowledge of what's actually happening in the nation? Or a blissful ignorance that allows you to feel the warm fuzzies of being safe in your own home.

Aliens

I can't say whether or not aliens really exist. I can't say that I have been in contact with any either. I can say, though, that I have seen some strange things. But what I can point out is that everyone who claims to have been in contact with them can't be crazy. There are just too many reports for this topic to remain an anomaly. Some may be lying, some may legitimately think they saw them. I think it's perfectly plausible that someone or something not from this world would want to visit. If they do exist, and they have the technology, shouldn't they? We have been to the moon and we now have a robot that is poking around on mars. I'm sure if we knew of a planet with life, we would send something there to communicate.

Advances In Technology

Sometimes patenting new items isn't secure enough to keep technology out of the wrong hands. The way to best win wars is to have the newest and best equipment to fight a lesser enemy. Hiding these advances is also a huge advantage. Think about what would happen if every country in the world had gotten our nuclear technology at the same time we did. We may not exist anymore. Technology like the B-2 Bomber was hidden at Area 51 for decades before information on it was released to the public. The new choppers used in the raid on Bin Laden were supposedly tested there. Where did we get the technology from? If you look all the way back to when humans were nomadic, right as we started settling and cultivating, you will see a huge advance in human technology on opposite sides of the planet, at almost the same time. How did both of these civilizations, on opposite sides of the world, and with no way to communicate make the same advances in technology at almost the same time? How did we come to produce irrigation, pyramids, and even floating cities on opposite sides of the earth? There may have been a foreign influence involved.

Summary

Could there be an alien life form in Area 51? Could they be protected by the United States Government? What other secrets are they hiding? What kind of technology can we look forward to? We may never know. We can speculate all we want, but when it comes down to it, the only way to prove it is to see it. Here are a few sites with more information about Area 51:
