Bamboozled: The Results of The 2014 Midterm Elections
Leaders of the Misinformation Party
Me, myself, I was utterly and completely shocked by the midterm election results on Wednesday Nov. 5 of this year. Personally I felt like I was in a dream like state of disbelief when I heard the news, given the fact of all of the gridlock in the US Congress namely by the House Republicans. The House is led or should I say misled by a Republican Speaker of the House, who seems to be afraid of his own shadow when it comes to standing up against the far right Tea Party agenda. He does so knowingly to protect his job, not to do the will of the people who elected him to Congress in the first place.
I don't know why or understand how so many lower to middle class voters could vote against things (i.e. Social Security, Medicare or Medicaid) that are in their own best interests by voting Republican. Is it that the Republican candidates campaign platforms were that good and or believable or was it just to spite the Democratic candidates. Clearly when there's documented proof that US House Republicans are causing the majority of the political gridlock in Congress, only to spite President Obama and his Administration.
The blatant hypocrisy of these Republicans knows no bounds when they vehemently oppose the policies that President Obama is trying to do when previous Republican Presidents have done the same things countless times in the past 50 years dating back to the Eisenhower Administration and as recent as George W, Bush. Now imagine how much better the US Economy and country as a whole would be in if they, the (Republicans / Tea Party) would stop obstructing all of the good things that President Obama is trying to accomplish.
Here's some proof positive for the low information voters (haters); less than 4 months shy of 6 years of continuous private sector job growth, a historically booming stock market (17,000 +/- points)* record breaking all-time highs, Affordable Health Care modeled after the Republican concept currently working and has been doing so for years without issues in Massachusetts, as opposed to none whatsoever. Ooh yeah, we (the Obama Administration) found and killed Osama Bin Laden when the Bush Administration had stopped actively looking for him. And the Immigration Reform even if only a temporary solution through Executive Action, which his predecessors have used far more than he has altogether.
I agree with President Obama's statement when he said, "if members of Congress (i.e. House Republicans) don't like me taking matters on by myself, then pass a comprehensive Immigration Reform Bill like the Senate did and I'll sign it." Needless to say that the members of the US Senate passed a bipartisan Immigration Reform Bill over 510 days before the President used his Executive Privilege to get the job done even if it's only a short term solution to the problem. To say that the House Republican along with some Senate Republicans are acting like purely antagonistic cowards with little to no regard for the average hard working Americans trying to survive, would be a gross understatement on my part.
I really hope that I'm wrong about the impending HELL that this new totally Republican controlled US Congress, doesn't dropped the ball or screw the pooch when it comes to doing their damn jobs........but I seriously doubt it. They're going to drop the bomb, I mean ball before the end of their individual inaugurations. HEAVEN help US!
