Blacks Are The Problem! Why there are More Blacks In Prison Than Whites? (The New Jim Crow)
President Richard Nixon
Some people may be wondering about the title of the hub or interpret it to mean something that they will probably agree with, but that may not turn out to be the case.
The title of this hub, is a quote from H.R. Haldeman, the former chief of staff of President Richard “tricky dick” Nixon. So people who think that racist attitudes toward blacks, isn’t ingrained in those at highest levels of government, or that racism is a figment of black people’s imagination, as the 1960s, sitcom character, “Gomer Pyle” use to say, are in for a “surprise, surprise, surprise!
H.R. Haldeman
The Haldeman Diaries
The following is a quote from "The Haldeman Diaries,” published by G. P. Putnam's Sons, and are taken from recordings and Haldeman's daily diary entries.
Haldeman, refers to President Nixon as " P, and states that: "P emphasized that you have to face the fact that the whole problem is really the blacks. The key is to devise a system that recognizes this while not appearing to. Pointed out that there has never in history been an adequate black nation, and they are the only race of which this is true. Says Africa is hopeless. The worst there is Liberia, which we built."
John Ehrlichman
John Ehrlichman
And if that’s not convincing enough about racist attitudes of Nixon and his cronies, there is this statement from Nixon’s other “right hand man”, John Ehrlichman, making it even clearer, that they are conspiring to illegally, criminalize, arrest, and incarcerate young black men, out of proportion to their white counterparts. He’s quoted as saying,
"Look, we understood we couldn't make it illegal to be young or poor or black in the United States, but we could criminalize their common pleasure. We understood that drugs were not the health problem we were making them out to be, but it was such a perfect issue...that we couldn't resist it." – (John Ehrlichman, White House counsel to President Nixon on the rationale of the War on Drugs).
The Plot
So you see, here we have plot, a conspiracy, by the president of the United States and his henchmen, to illegally target young black males, using the criminalization of drugs as a cover to do so. These actions were also said to be part of Nixon and his co-conspirators “Southern Strategy”. They “knew” that blacks wouldn’t vote for Nixon, so they devised a strategy that would pit poor southern whites against blacks, that would make it seem that blacks were receiving all or most of benefits from civil rights laws, and that the poor southern whites, were being “left out in the cold”.
This approach was similar to, how the rich white capitalists slave/plantation owners, were able to get the poor “white trash” who they “looked down on”, to fight in the “Civil War” to help protect their lucrative investments in the slave trade/market.. They accomplished this by making the poor lower class whites, think they were fighting to protect their “states’ rights” against the federal government, who aim was to make slavery illegal in the Unites States. So the “states’ rights” slogan was bandied about, to get poor southern whites to fight, just as “free the Iraqi people” was bandied about, to get people to risks their live to protect the rich oil investors plans to profit from the second largest oil field in the world, located in Iraq…but I digress!
Why Are More Blacks In Prison?
So when some white people point out, that there are more black men in prison than white men, now you know why. It’s not because black men are more violent etc, etc, etc, but because there was and is, an illegal conspiracy to arrest and convict black men, to create the public perception, that they are more violent and commit more crimes than white men, so they deserve to be locked-up!
And if you want more data or “proof” to back up what I’m saying. Please view the video at the end of this hub, a fantastic, informative presentation, by an outstanding women and speaker, “Michelle Alexander—author of The New Jim Crow”. Some people will be glad they did and others may sad they did.
Why I'm Publishing This Hub
I’m not necessarily, presenting this information to anger or offend anyone, but to, hopefully, shake those people awake, who think that all racist attitudes and racist behaviors toward black people are in the past. Those who especially need to be awakened, are those who think that, because we have a “Black” president, that we now, magically, live in a post racial society! They think that all racist attitudes and plots against blacks have magically disappeared, there are certain classes of “black” people, who are under this illusion as well, as this “New Jim Crow” video will show.
