Conservatism: Mindless Drivel of the Far Right (Tea Party) Republican Party

Signs of De(Mented) Geniuses

Beginning with the recent utterances of the likes of Michelle Bachmann, Sarah Palin and a former US Vice President Dick Cheney illustrates just how disconnected to the reality of the average American. The catastrophic ideological rhetoric of the modern Tea Party is so distorted and misinformed based solely on the mindset of the Jim Crow Era 1950's.

As a student of history, the Jim Crow era was adamantly opposed to economic and racial equality. Now, that along with the fact that we as Americans have not only elected but re-elected the first African American President in our Nation's history. This fact must really mortify them to the very core of their being. Another thing that deeply disturbs the Modern Tea Party is the fact that President Obama tries to address relevant social issues that affects American middle (income) class families. not the Special Interest Groups or Corporate Interests. Because they're mostly motivated to obstruct each and every policy that President Obama endorses or tries to get passed into law for the good of the common man, not corporate interests.

Another thing I find particular disturbing is the common rhetoric and misinformation campaigns that Tea Party Conservatives continually choose to engage in, yet most low information constituents continuously and blindly buy into their misinformation. When their rhetoric while appealing on the surface, but it is generally use to distract them from the basic issues that average or most Americans whose annual incomes are less than $45K hold dear.

As a general observation, Tea Party supporters rarely notice even if on only a subconscious level that corporate profits are continually increasing at record levels while the basic C.O.L.A (cost of living allowances) and pay rates are stagnant. Except the pay for the CEO, CFO, COO's of the corporations have been skyrocketing over the last 20 years or so. Essentially the costs of goods and services are constantly on the rise.

A sad bill of fact, base on obstructionist Tea Party Ideology.

GOP's Inaccurate Talking Points (Scare Tactics)
GOP's Inaccurate Talking Points (Scare Tactics)

Doctrine of Scare Tactics & Misinformation

Now for those low information constituents or those that can't see the trees whilst standing in the middle of a very dense forest. The Tea Party / GOP have tried to further pull the wool over your eyes by saying that the Affordable Care Act is economically bad for the country. When there are many non bias sources of actual facts to back up the veracity of the positive benefits of the law. The lies are utterly ludicrous and void of any accuracy within the narratives.

Another disturbing fact is that House Republican in Congress have tried to repeal the law, by voting 50 times and failing to do so miserably each time. But that's only the smokescreen meant to distract the people from the true facts The US Supreme Court upheld the validity of the law, making it the undeniable the law of the land. Other facts that House Republican don't really highlight in the media, is that the Affordable Care Act is primarily a Republican idea. Modeled after former Republican Presidential Candidate, Mitt Romney's own version of the law.

Tea Party / GOP Conservatives tend to be disconnected from the pulse of everyday middle class American interests and more so in their own personal agendas. Like their Re-Election Campaigns and how or what's in it for them via some form of monetary personal gains. Namely who's filling their campaign coffers. In the GOP circles, it's all about their own power and influence. Something as noble as honesty and integrity, are treated like punchlines instead of the inherent nobility of representing the constituents who cast their votes to get them elected them to the very office that they occupy.

This is a wake up call for America's Middle Class, STOP voting against your own best INTERESTS!

A great hub which highlights the fundamental problem with the neo-liberal economic systems favoured by the US and UK (among others).

I recommend reading "The Price of Inequality" by Joseph Stiglitz, it is a great read which highlights how even during the "boom" years working class and middle class incomes either stagnated or reduced in real terms.

      Voted up.

Oh we know the COLA is up. We know something you don't? It is the fault of the government you tout! From the cost of education, to the high cost of automobiles, it can all be traced to big government! The GOP wants government to leave Americans to their own devises. In the past year there were multiple killings including the Australian in Duncan Ok. Many of those cases the murderers said they were BORED!.....A starving man or woman gets out of bed early and hunts for a job or something to eat! 50 million on entitlement leaves too many "bored". I work in Midland Texas 1 week a month............I can't get a pizza delivered to my room because no one will take pizza delivery jobs! You failed to mention that OB said health care would save families $2500 a year and we could keep our doctors? You failed to speak on how Hillary killed 4 Americans in Benghazi? You failed to talk about millions of tax payer dollars wasted on projects like Solyndra and the bail outs of self destructed cities like Detroit? Gay marriage and pot smoking liberal states are destroying the fabric of society that once was the greatest on earth?..........hmmmmm I live in Oklahoma on 5 acres in a wonderful home that cost 200K...........how much are homes in liberal states? I see junk in CA and NY for up to $800 k? ..........maybe the Tea Party way is much better for folks than the left thinks??.......oh and your corporate profit analogy? Good for them! I never received employment from a poor person so the more they make the more they hire and consume products so we can all work and have OUR chance at wealth!

Far more of the "big" governments money is spent propping up industry than on welfare. Take the "big" government away and the corporations, the vast organistations responsible for creating huge pockets of inequality, would fail.

Of course, the tea party only want individual people to suffer, they are happy for the big spending to carry on financing their business interests.

Government has no money it does not first take, at gun point, from citizens and then inflate by spending far more than it takes in. There isn't a single sector of the economy that compares to the confiscated wealth the government redirects to protect its own. There is no cartel of businessmen running the economy but there is a cartel of politicians and bureaucrats distorting and twisting the entire economy to grow the power of the central government.

      Too - retief2000

You say there is no cartel of businessmen running the economy and yet there are super pacts that get funded by businessmen in order to influence elections.

There has always been a cartel of politicians and "bureau -c -rats " distorting and twisting the entire economy & to grow the power of the central governments of the world.

How much money does the largest superpac control, a few million or hundred million? Let me help with the math, 1 billion is 1 thousand times 1 million. 1 trillion is 1 million times 1 million. The federal government forces out of the hands of its citizens 2.4 million million every year, inflates that to 3.6 million million and spends it all, every year. How much money do superpac control again? How large is the largest sector in the economy? Is BIG (scary, evil) OIL able to spend 3.6 million million?

Who owns government retief2000? Business and the uber-rich.

It isn't rocket science to realise that the people who own government, motivated by neo-liberal self-interest, look after big business and the uber-rich.

Apparently realising that the government taxes the people to give to corporations is hard. The tea party leaders don't want to stop government spending which benefits them, only the government spending that goes to other people.

And far more of those millions is spent on business support than on people support. Defence, agriculture, pharmaceuticals and other sectors where America are market leaders are all propped up with government money which comes from taxation.

Dear Patriot Quest, no disrespect to you but please unplug from Fox News and other Right Wing Media Outlets. Now, I'm not touting big government just the opposite. Under President Obama's policies or things he's trying to get done, get this..... they REDUCE the national debt, create jobs and opportunities for people to make it into the middle class. According to the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office(C.B.O.), the Obama administration is spending far less than his recent Republican predecessors of the last 2 decades.

Hillary didn't kill anyone, explain to me how she asked for more money for the State Department Budget primarily for additional embassy security and it was denied.

Also the Affordable Care Act didn't promise to save families $2500, it was merely an average savings of $2,500 for a family of four to get health insurance.

As far as the cost of Real Estate properties in various marketplaces around the country isn't a valid argument. Your 5 acres in OK, I presume is in a rural area as oppose to more urban areas in NY & CA. It's merely an attempt to distract others from the fact. I'm guessing you're employed by an Oil/Gas Exploration Company, because only working 1 week a month they've got to pay pretty damn good.

      Let's just agree to disagree!

The average family was to save money, they are not. The insured were to be able to keep their plans, they cannot. They were also to keep their doctor, they cannot.

The number of uninsured prior to Obamacare passing was said to be 35 million. Obamacare has resulted in millions losing their insurance. There are 7 million said to have signed up for Obamacare. The end result is there are still tens of millions of Americans uninsured.

The workforce has contracted, the GDP has declined, the National Debt is up, inflation is up, those needing "food stamps" is up.

If Obamacare is such a great idea then why all the delays in its full implementation? If Obama is doing such a find job then why are average Americans suffering drastic changes in their household incomes, access to medical care, continued employment and the price of food and fuel?

Individual income has dropped significantly in the US for many people since the 1970's but the increase in two job families saw a slight increase in total family income - the economic pressure of having more people join the workforce and more downward pressure on wages from corporate employers was always likely to see a sharp downturn in household income (and the fact individual income declined during the boom years is something that is far more significant).

Access to medical care has increase, even if the system is flawed, and food and fuel prices are rising globally, in no small part thanks to wars in places such as Iraq and Afganistan, wars not started by Obama. The crisis in the Ukraine, which has been instigated under this adminsitration, is another significant factor and while the US don't rely on fuels from the Ukraine or Russia the effects of having a global market mean that prices are sensitive to all global economic factors.

The economy is bust by debt, Obama has not created that problem although he may have done more to alleviate it. It was caused by the economic policies employed since Reagan and developed by Milton Friedman.

Dear Retief2000, no disrespect to you as a person, but please do us and yourself a favor and unplug from Fox News and the other Right Wing Media outlets (i.e. Breitbart.com, redstates.com...etc.). As usual the right wing wants to bitch about what President is or isn't doing right /correct but fail to admit to the deliberate obstructionist tactics deployed by House Republicans and their media attack dogs (Limbaugh, Hannity, & O'Rielly).

What about the facts, They've blocked The America Jobs Act and countless others, the fact that Obamacare aka Affordable Care Act is modeled after Mitt Romney's version of the law in Massacheusetts. Their policies tend to disregard the will of the people that voted for them, (i.e. 91% of Americans supported tougher background checks for gun buyers) NRA lined their pockets because it might actually hurt guns sales and their bottomline. Never came to a vote in the US House, why the speaker of the House got more pressure from The NRA and covered his own ass for his re-election prospects. So I may not agree with all of the President's plans or ideas but atleast he's putting them out there for consideration.
