Current Government Policies and Legislation and the Middle Class
Current Government Policies and Legislation and the Middle Class
Whether it be immigration reform, minimum wage, ObamaCare or any big government program that is choking off the life blood of this great nation, the underlying intent and effects of these acts have a lot in common.
With regard to Immigration Reform:
The case against immigration reform has been clearly presented in previous posts. How much longer can this government trample on the rights of its citizens, ignore the constitution and the law and continue to pursue agendas that are devastating the middle class. With respect to immigration reform, the welfare of its own citizens are ignored in order to secure Hispanic voting blocks for left wing progressives and to satisfy the lusts of the corporate community through efforts of the progressive corporatists in the Republican party (e.g. John McCain, Lindsay Graham, John Bohner, Mitch McConnel, Paul Ryan, etc.) The advocates of immigration reform will throw up all forms of smoke screens to confuse and mislead the American Public.
It isn’t hard to see that all the progressive Democratic Party wants is to be able to create a new demographic or expand the size of an existing one that permanently increases the size of the party’s voter base. It isn’t hard to see that all the progressive corporatist Republicans and their crony capitalist backers want is to be able to take advantage of these people and use them as indentured servants in order to have a of cheap labor.
Question: does immigration reform hurt or help the middle class? Does either of these political parties real consider what effect it is going to have on the middle class.
Minimum Wage:
- Question: If our compassionate politicians cared so passionately about the poor why not allow or enact a price freeze to go along with the increase in minimum wage. Surely, they know that once they increase the minimum wage the cost of producing goods in the United States will increase and businesses will increase prices to insure that they can still make the same profit. So then, how does increasing the minimum wage help the poor. It doesn’t. An increase in minimum wage will result in higher prices and that will not give the poor any additional purchasing power to buy goods. So effectively, its just a smokescreen. The middle class on the other hand will be affected since the cost of goods will rise while their salaries stay the same. The middle class in effect will become poorer. The wealthy and big businesses, on the other hand, will not be affected, prices will increase, profits will increase, salaries and bonuses of corporate executives will increase to accommodate for the increase cost of goods. Life for the wealthy and big business will go on as usual. The only way to insure that enacting a minimum minimum wage increase helps the poor (other than not enact one at all which is the most preferable) is to simultaneously put price controls into effect. That way, costs of goods won’t rise and the poor will see a real increase in their wages. But this won’t happen because the wealthy and big business will risk losing income and profit and the politicians know it.
- Question: does an increase in minimum wage hurt or help the middle class? Interesting!
The devastating impact that this legislation is going to have on our economy, our medical industry and our national debt has been well documented and is well known. However, the wealthy will still be able to pay for the best healthcare available, while the middle class will have to bear the brunt of increased costs and reduced medical coverage.
- Question: Does ObamaCare, otherwise known as the the Affordable Care Act hurt or help the middle class? How about the Progressive Income Tax? How about the Progressive initiative to increase voter registration of the uninformed voter by reducing voter identification requirements. Isn't this disenfranchising the vote of the middle class? Isn’t a pattern starting to become evident here?
Some Randon Thoughts and Observations of Note:
1.) The downsizing of the U.S. Military and the reduction of benefits to Active and Retired U.S. Service Personnel:
When one stops to think about these 2 actions of the Obama administration, it isn’t hard to realize that both of these actually have the same devastating effect on the U.S. military for isn’t the reduction of benefits actually nothing more than the gradual elimination of incentives for anyone who is thinking of joining the U.S. military
2.) A special filibuster for Harry Reid:
If the Republicans were smart, they would take advantage of the comments by Harry Reid in which he said that all the testimonials that people are giving, with regard to how bad ObamaCare is, are all lies. The Republicans should immediately take advantage of this by filibustering everything and anything that is brought to the floor of the senate until he apologies and admits that they are not lies. During the filibuster, they can read all the testimonials that have been sent in until Reid apologies, This is a gift that cannot be overlooked because it will get the attention of the American People and won’t end until Reid is called out as the lier he really is.
