My Small Voice, Raised in Protest

This article is my voice raised in Protest!

I am a Senior, a Veteran and I have seen enough of these young RIOTERS tearing our nations history down.

I say, Cut the Destruction and do it now!

We are and have been for centuries now, a diverse nation of many races, religions and ideologies and yes, there have been terrible things done to far too many innocent people over the years we have existed as a Democracy.

It's Just a Protest, Right?

The wonder to me is how easily our politicians released the constraints built into our laws and and now they are allowing a law-breaking minority tear down our institutions and history.

I believe I am witnessing a “Bizzarro World” form of educated Shame! We as a nation are an educated people regardless of race if you consider how poorly so many people are educated in other parts of the world.

And we are all aware of the injustices done to Blacks and other races in our past. And I believe that there is a bit of Shame in everyone’s heart when we all see what certain peoples have had to bear in the past.

I also believe that we, as a nation, are collectively sitting back and not reacting to the continual weeks of destruction that has spread across our nation out of this shame.

But, in my eyes, it has become very hard to sympathize with the original reasoning for the recent protests.

And I am definitely not of a mind to even consider for one moment supporting the extremes of destruction I am now witnessing, weeks later.

What Do We Do Now?

Yes, there is a big But here, and I believe we have reached the point where protesters have gone from protesting to a philosophy of destroying our pasts. Yes, I said our pasts.

It confounds me when I see that people are destroying their history, along with mine, as they feel it is best to erase the past through the destruction of statues, memorials and such, over things done by ancestors over a century ago.

There is no doubt that our past has been a checkered one with great achievements and terrible injustices, many of which have often been performed by the same people.

But, what are you going to do when you want to tell your grandchild about what a certain person in our collective pasts did that was really bad, if you have already destroyed any references, monuments and even history books that tell us about these people?

What are you going to do when most of your neighborhood moves away because there are no local business’ to purchase food and clothing from?

What are you going to do when most of your neighborhood moves away because they have no jobs?

And, what are you going to do when your once proud neighborhood is suddenly referred to as the new “Slum” or “Ghetto”, or Crime Center of the area.

No Plan, No Solution?

Honestly, I don’t have a solution that will, with one clean sweep, make all men equal. empower all women, make all religions respect each other and make everyone proud of their own heritage.

But I do know that after all of these weeks of destruction my heart has been turned from sympathy to frustration.

I believe it’s time to come together and work together for the changes everyone can agree on so that we are all working towards the same goals of Liberty and Equality.

By the way, yes, i did say riots. I no longer see organized protests working towards an actionable goal, but rather what I see are gangs of people waiting for dark so they can slink around and sew destruction.

And as a firm believer in law and order, I now believe we need to empower our law enforcement organizations and instruct them to bring order back to the people and stop the chaos.

Of course, this means that there will be people hurt, on both sides; but really, you would have to be an idiot if you were not already watching people getting hurt, on both sides of the protest lines.

Are most Protesters Rioters; Of Course Not!

Are most Cops Stone Cold Killers; Of Course Not!

In my opinion, it’s time to take our streets back from the enemies of America.

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!
