Democrats Who Supported the Wall Prior to the Trump Presidency

Former Supporters of Border Security

Voices in the Wilderness

I think one commenter for the video below put it most succinctly.

"I voted democrat for 20 years. I'll never do it again."

Now the person who wrote that didn't become "smart" after seeing the video. He had simply, like the rest of the country, been misled by democrat politicians and a complicit media. I think more doors of communication close because both sides call the other side "dumb, stupid, idiots," etc. People who vote for democrats are not stupid. I work with a lot of democrats and they're all pretty smart people. Their problem isn't a low IQ, it's a matter of sheer inundation of similar reporting from a leftist media. John the Baptist was the voice of "one calling in the wilderness." That phrasing makes the point that not only did John come from the wilderness, but that he was out of step with the religious leaders of his day. The voices in the wilderness almost always seem wrong because of the fact that they're from the wilderness. They go against the grain, and ironically in a society that claims to be so protective of the minority, in this instance, the conservative minority is abused, mocked, derided, and silenced, or at least attempts are made to silence them.

While the media continues to search President Trump's distant past with the zeal of an archaeologist, let us take a look at the recent past in the video below of flip-flopping democrats with a specific focus on their malleable positions on immigration. The video is only 3:10 so please give it a view and see for yourself how sinister, how duplicitous, how audacious these politicians are. See how they lie with graceful ease to their constituents and the world then ask yourself why it is that the media does not hold them accountable or ask them to explain their inexplicable 180 degree spin regarding illegal immigration.

Obama, Both Clintons, Schumer Unanimously Opposed Illegal Immigration Prior to President Trump's Election

To recap- "Not only in the states most heavily affected, but in every place in this country people are rightliy disturbed by the large number of illegal aliens entering our country."-Bill Clinton

"People who enter the country without our permission are illegal aliens and illegal aliens should not be treated the same as people who entered the country legally."- Chuck Schumer

"I am adamantly against illegal immigrants."- Hillary Clinton

We are working to make sure we have sufficient facilities to detain, house, and process them (illegal immigrants)appropriately, and it is unlikely that their children will be able to stay. I've asked parents across Central America not to put their children in harms way.

— President Barak Obama

"Read My Lips: No New Taxes!" Remember that one?

George H.W. Bush ran on the campaign promise: "Read my lips: No new taxes!" Undoubtedly that promise contributed to Bush's victory over Michael Dukakis in 1988. Ironically, it would be the memory of that same promise that would contribute to Bush's loss to Bill Clinton in 1992. The press was relentless, as was the Clinton campaign, in reminding Americans of the fact that President Bush had signed a bill into law, that while leaving income tax alone, raised other fees and levies. This was before he had finished the first year of his presidency. In 1990 David Letterman said that the Bush catch phrase should be updated to "Read my lips: I was lying."

But where is Letterman now? Outspoken against Trump, Rush Limbaugh, and conservatism in general, not only does he NOT speak out against the blatant hypocrisy of his own party, but invites only liberals as guests on his new Netflix show: "My Next Guest." His opening episode of season 1 features Barak Obama.

It isn't as if Letterman is an actual journalist or member of the press, but he is part of the media as is Steven Colbert, Howard Stern, and the entire SNL programming department who decided it would be a wise move to trade humor by devoting itself to the sole purpose of smearing our president. Not only is the show NOT politically savvy, it isn't funny.

Bernie Sanders Favors Immigration Reform 5 Years Ago...Now? Not so Much.

Denzel Doesn't Trust the Media Either

If you don't read the papers you are uninformed. If you do read the papers you are misinformed.

— Denzel Washington

Right you are Mr. Washington. I couldn't agree more. Fake news is everywhere and we are the "voice of one crying in the wilderness" and we need to keep it up. Keep telling the truth and exposing the lies of the democrats and how they do so at the expense and safety of the American people. Last year NCFIRE reported data of nearly 11,000 U.S. children being raped by illegal aliens, not to mention:

  • murders- over 4,000 annually
  • drug trafficking
  • human trafficking/enslavement of women and children in the sex trade
  • theft
  • assaults and other acts of violence (refer to stat links provided below)

Americans need to wake up to the fact that our national security is at risk and that risk is growing because of swamp dwellers (Trump said he was going to drain the swamp) Like Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer. It's true, there are plenty of republicans that inhabit the swamp too and they are no better than the democrats. In fact, they are the same. They are all cozy in their plush cars, offices and homes provided by the American people while they sell us out and tell bald face lies. What do they care? They have security guards to protect them, we don't! Thousands of Americans have been murdered by illegals and not one of those victims were a member of the House or Senate. But to put a face to the claim, please consider this LEGAL immigrant, this young man who respected our country and went about obtaining his citizenship the right way: Officer Ronil Singh. Hailed as a "Fiji born American hero," officer Singh was brutally murdered by an illegal alien the day after Christmas. He came here for the opportunity to fulfill his dream of becoming a police officer. He made our country a better place, a safer place, and that contribution to our society needs to be remembered and appreciated. The best way appreciation can be shown is to not allow acts of violence like this to occur any longer. It starts with building a wall, a barrier to keep the bad guys out- NOT the immigrants, the bad guys, and I would classify "bad guys" as those not entering the country legally, as Chuck Schumer used to say before Trump became president.

Officer Ronil Singh

Family man, K-9 officer, and US citizen who immigrated legally, Ronin Singh. Officer Singh was brutally murdered by an illegal alien the day after Christmas.
Family man, K-9 officer, and US citizen who immigrated legally, Ronin Singh. Officer Singh was brutally murdered by an illegal alien the day after Christmas.

Summary

During the 2016 presidential election Donald Trump was asked the following question by a reporter.

Reporter: "Mr. Trump. Can you explain how it is that you've won such overwhelming support from conservative Christians?"

Trump: "You know we don't need a saint or a savior, we already have one. What we need now is a body guard."

Every sovereign nation has immigration policies, borders, and border enforcement agencies. Border security is not a race issue. It's a security issue. The democrats knew that...once.

LOL Love is my name for Leslie, from a few years back.

It matters not the information presented or the facts before her, she is unmovable and unshakable in her liberalism.

haha- yes, I think I'm all out of leaves. Again, I mirror your sentiments exactly. I voted for Cruz as well, but in hindsight I think we needed a Trump. Nice pun by the way, "no matter the OBSTACLES." Got a chuckle out of that one. Thanks AB.

Oh Love, I see that you have not turned over any new leaves.

Ted Cruz has many great ideas Leland, he was my choice for President, although I have managed to warm up to the People's Choice, Donald J. Trump. No matter the obstacles, {Dems} he still manages to get the work of the people done and I'd only add one more thing, because I can....BUILD THAT WALL!

Personally, I like Ted Cruz's suggestion. Take 5 of the 14 billion just seized from El Chapo and use it to pay for the wall. You have to understand that it was never a point of fact that any reasonable person thought Mexico would literally write out a check. I think the point is, one way or another- they are going to pay for it. And please don't tell me what to say on my page. If you can't take the heat get out of the kitchen. Trying to silence/censor people is a weak way to make your case.

Hello. It is simple. No wall. No concrete empirical medieval wall. You want border security? Use the money Congress already gave you. You have 94% of it left.

You see, you have taken a big concrete wall that Mexico is going to pay for and now say America must fork out 5.6 billion, or he’s going to declare martial law.

Please don’t tell me who’s fallen for it. I’ll buy you a mirror.

We live in the era of "skimming." I often see people quickly scrolling through articles on their phone thinking they have done serious study on a given issue. I think you hit the nail on the head. Thanks for commenting.

There are people who are ignorant, and they are not willing to be informed about important matters. Politicians get snarled into important issues and treat them like parlor games. Your article offers facts that are very helpful if only people are willing to read the information.

Unfortunately, you've already fallen for it. Democrats thought a wall/fence/slats/ were a wonderful idea until Trump got behind it and they realized they could use it as a weapon in their false narrative, buttressing the lie that Trump is racist, xenophobic, etc. I have a good friend that is a border patrol agent and he confirms everything the president says regarding the state of affairs on our western border. Do you know more than a border patrol agent?

      https://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statement...

Border security is working. There is absolutely no need for a wall.

What is needed is common sense, not political manipulation.

Hey Americans....stop using drugs, stop buying assault weapons.

      Employers (Trump), stop hiring illegals.

Hey Trump......go after visa overstays, like your current wife.

It’s all a political stunt, and I’m not falling for it. Ehhhh. Fail.

LM- sorry, but wrong again. Dems voted for a fence in 2006- see the link. You can split a hair if you want saying "it wasn't a wall, it's a fence" but we both know that's just playing the semantics game the left has become so adept at playing. R- thanks for reading and commenting, and you're absolutely right. LEGAL immigrants are appalled by the behavior of those entering the country illegally. It's also an insult to those who entered legally and respected our laws. Our media is a disgrace. Thank God for venues like this one where people can still express there views openly.

AB- I know- Pelosi again? Talk about a dog returning to its own... I think part of the problem is the fact that the left is sooo good at issue hopping. Before people can get their head wrapped around one the media skips to another and people are just left with the idea that Trump is "bad, bad, bad, bad, bad..." That's all they hear and it gets to people after a while. It's the Goebbels theory of propaganda: "Tell a lie long enough and loud enough and people will start to believe it." The sheer magnitude and volume of lies perpetuated by the media have people thinking, "they can't all be lying, can they?" The answer is, as you know, YES- they can! I have to tell you this- I went to a Trump rally here in Michigan and it was extremely patriotic, dignified, fun- the works. There was a single 30 second incident where Trump pointed to the back of the room and gave his obligatory barbs to the media about them being "fake news" etc, then moved on to the rest of his talk. After the rally we were listening to the news and of course they were talking about it. What do you think they reported on? Trump talked extemporaneously for 90 minutes and the news focused on the 30 seconds where he was ribbing the press. Unbelievable, but in another sense it was great to see first hand what a bunch of whiney frauds comprise our media. Thanks for reading and commenting my friend.

Hi Leland, great job on this.

This is all so frustrating. The people rallied against the establishment and elected an outsider; a businessman, to break through the gridlock and get things done. We have been on a roll, positive things have been happening and the people’s response is to bring Nancy back?

Suddenly Schumer is relabeling Illegals and redefining his views on border security, changing his argument.... because Trump uses those same labels and definitions and makes the same arguments?

I get the Establishment fighting back, doing whatever they need to do.....what I don’t get, is half a Nation of voters not seeing what is going on, taking on the role of enablers, rather than rallying around the President.

Erm....they still do. Thanks for pointing that out. They are not for open borders, as rightwingers keep lying.

But, they are also not for a wall. Border security is the term. It was Trump who got himself in trouble by making it a wall that Mexico would pay for.

The whole issue is stupid. It was a campaign wall and now he can’t get out of it.

Shows you what an amateur he is. He’s out of his league.

Thanks for speaking up on the truth about democratic support of the border wall and for honoring Ronin Singh. Immigrants we know who followed the rules/laws to become citizens are ashamed and disgusted by the behavior of illegal aliens.

The news media is disgusting in their unabashed hatred of our president. They have lost their senses with fear. An example just came across evening news, "Next, we dig into what will happen with your taxes thanks to the government shut down." Reporting their predictions of the future as news is worse than tiring, it is shameful fear-mongering.
