Disgrace at the Pentagon

Chiquita Lost Her Appetite

Good Morning, Breakfastpoppers. Today is Monday, August 3, 2015. Cicada Chiquita is at the breakfast table. She is out of her mind with rage, because she has learned that the Navy is considering bringing charges against Lt. Cmdr. Timothy White for using his personal weapon to bring down the terrorist who attacked the Chattanooga, Tennessee Naval and Marine Reserve Center on July 16. He used his own handgun to defend his men against an attacker who killed four Marines and a Navy specialist. The Navy should be pinning a medal on his chest. Something is terribly wrong with this picture. Chiquita has asked me to extend an invitation to all the poppers this morning. Please join her at the breakfast table. She will be serving French toast and butter. I will be serving Irish coffees. We hope to see you soon.

Tragedy Upon Tragedy

Thank you all for joining me this morning. Mohammad Youssef Abdulazeez attacked the U.S. Naval and Marine Reserve Center with a handgun and an assault rifle. Navy Lt. Cmdr. Timothy White returned fire using his personal weapon. The Pentagon is going to investigate the circumstances of White's actions. The nation would be better served if they investigated the terrorist who killed four Marines and one active duty Navy reservist. Cmdr. White should be receiving a medal for his heroism. The Navy is more concerned with the fact that the inane policy of the military does not permit service members to carry firearms on military facilities. The policy is bizarre and dangerous. It is, in my view, an open invitation for terrorists to attack our men and women on bases all over the nation. Chattanooga won't be the last of these attacks. It's a target rich environment, and the terrorists must be jumping for joy. Lt. Cmdr. White could face disciplinary action for violating the policy that does not permit weapons in a gun-free zone. It was relatively easy for Abdulazeez to violate the rules, but then that is always the case. In this country, we tie the hands of the good guys to give the bad guys a chance to maim and kill.

Source

Rules That Kill

I don't know the rationale behind banning guns from military bases or Reserve Centers, but the geniuses who came up with this plan should be prosecuted. We train military personnel to use guns and then we take those guns away from them. I can't even think about how many more people would have been killed if Lt. Cmdr. White wasn't armed. That's what the Pentagon should be thinking about. Our service men and women are sitting ducks thanks to an insane policy that only benefits the lunatics and terrorists who enjoy targeting those brave people who are charged with protecting us. I have always felt that this nation prefers a dead hero to a live one. Make no mistake about it, Lt. Cmdr. White is a hero. Thank God he was carrying his personal weapon. If not, he and many others would have lost their lives that day. I just don't get it. Was he supposed to call the local police and hope they got there in time? Is that what this administration expects of those that serve our nation?

Source

Handcuffing the Good Guys

I hope there is a great deal of outrage about Lt. White's position. The media is all over the death of a lion. We have dead military in our country, killed at the hands of a terrorist. We have a terrorist who the media is reluctant to call a terrorist. We have a president who is mum on the subject. We have a Pentagon that is more disturbed by an armed military man than an armed jihadist. We are warned not to rush to judgement when it comes to terrorism. We are told we must be sensitive to the moderate Muslims who live among us. I am not feeling very sensitive right now. I am angry. I don't care about the sensitivities of moderate Muslims. If they exist, they are certainly very quiet about Isis and their radicalization of young fanatics. I care about Lt. Cmdr. Timothy White. I care abut his lovely wife Franici and their six children. Number seven is on the way and my thoughts and prayers are with that baby, as well. I don't care about the military's policy of keeping our nation's heroes unarmed and vulnerable. I don't care about an administration and a Congress that can't see the forest for the trees. I have had enough of political correctness. I am sick of uber sensitive idiots who make mountains out of molehills. We have serious problems in our nation, but we don't have serious leadership. We don't even have a serious electorate. If Hillary Clinton is still considered a viable candidate for the White House, we don't have a prayer in hell of dealing with issues like terrorism. Lt. Cmdr. White is a hero. He should be treated as a hero and this disgusting investigation should be dropped immediately. He deserves an apology and a medal. Those who think otherwise deserve a slap in the face and dismissal from the military. It is about time that common sense ruled the day. We no longer can afford anything less.

Chiquita's Song

I'm Chiquita Cicada and I'm here to say

Make sure this investigation goes away!

Please Make Some Noise.............

      Dear Pamela,

It is wonderful to see you at the breakfast table. I hope all is well and your book is progressing nicely. As for Obama, he can't leave Washington fast enough. I seriously don't now how much more "change" we can stand. See you at the Inn and we'll catch up.

I agree with you completely as usual. It does not make sense for our servicemen to not be armed as they are trained and could save lives. It is sad that our president can't even say the words Muslim Extremist either. Thank goodness some of the governors have taken a stand to have someone armed at a recruiting center. The people have to rise up, speak up and put pressure on our leaders as Obama is never going to address the problems that he has caused in many cases. Counting off the days until the end of his presidency!

      Dear brad,

Common sense would dictate that the military be armed while on base or in anything military related. This administration is doing everything it can to weaken us and leave us vulnerable. To answer your question, I do believe the military is a branch of the Peace Corps. That is exactly what Obama wanted. See you at the Inn. No apologies for your typos. They are a part of life, at least my life!

This is no different than 911

We didn't have a single weapon to counter the terrorists.

Think about it, how did a rogue airliner get past Andrews Air Force Base?

The military should be armed as we arm are police, at least that much, but maybe a lot more.

Is the US military now a branch of the Peace Corp?

Lt. Cmdr. White is a hero plain and simple. The fools who want to press charges against him should be drawn and quartered. PC rules and idiocy reigns.

Here in Virginia, there was some talk of private citizens protecting the recruiting centers in the area. The radio news said they were being asked by the military to stand down. It sounded so ridiculous that I thought maybe the reporters had been spoofed.

      But reading this, maybe not.

      Dear Mike,

How right you are. Thus far, the way things are going, even when we know the responsible party absolutely nothing happens. Washington exits in a bubble that ordinary beings can't penetrate.

The one thing that upsets me the most is they never state who made this decision. They use terms such as "The Pentagon" or "The White House" for news like this. Both of these are just buildings and can't do a damn thing. It is a shame they get to hide behind the shield of government rather than admit it was them who decided to take this action. Very few of them would survive a year in private industry without their shield.

Yes, people are bonkers these days which explains the mess we are in. Our government has ceased to function in the way it was intended. It appears we have a one man show and the results of that are awful. See you at the Inn.

      Dear Mike,

I think this insane decision came from the Obama administration. They have been trying to disarm and weaken all of us, and the military is a target of that effort. In the meantime, Obama gets away scot free. Our soldiers should carry weapons while on base and in recruitment centers. If this were the case, many lives could have been saved. See you at the Inn.

      Pop and Chiquita,

One more insane policy to go with the asinine practice of using uber-restrictive rules of engagement for our pilots trying to KILL ISIS Terrorists. These policies cause huge percentages of flights to return with full bomb loads. This administration does all it can to hamstring our military.

"Investigate the terrorist?" Pffffffffft, who does that anymore. They're too busy investigating #BlackLivesMatter and Occupy Activists. If you remember years ago Col. Allen West was put through the mill because he used forced (either pistol-whipped or punched) an al Quaeda or Taliban member because he discovered his platoon was going to be ambushed. This was just days or so before his 20-year retirement eligibility, some wanted to take his pension away.

While I agree Cmdr. White deserves honors, I have no doubt it's always the work of some General Brass Ass who sternly pushes rules-over-life to a bizarre unbalanced extreme. People are bonkers today.

Just more proof that the inmates are now running the asylum. Your correct, this guy deserves a medal, not punishment. With things like this going on we will soon have to re-institute the draft to keep our numbers of active Military at the bare minimum. Of course if Obama had his way, there would be no Military at all. The proposal now is to cut the active Military by at least 40,000 due to budget constraints.

We still have money to give to Planned Parent hood and grants to study the mating habits of butterfly's, but not enough to support the Military.

I'm very proud of the civilians who are taking it on themselves to guard the recruiting centers since the guys inside are not allowed to have weapons.

These recruiters should be well armed and have some armed Marines inside to help them out. The "lone wolf" attacks will grow quickly, and it is criminal to have these men and women in buildings with no way to protect themselves.

I will write my congressmen today for all the good it will do.

My question would be who, by name, made the decision to take action against this brave warrior? My guess is we will never know.

Our recruiters should be armed and ready to defend not only themselves, but their recruits and their centers. This is such an outrage. And more ways to disempower those who are in a position to help.

      Give the kid a medal.

      Good Morning DJ,

The best thing to do in this case is to make some noise. Call or write your representatives demanding that they exert pressure to stop this insane investigation. I am so disgusted. See you at the Inn and we'll talk about a time when things made more sense.

When I originally heard the news story and heard that guns were banned at recruitment centers I couldn't believe it. How strange is that? Why not no weapons at police stations while we're at it? Common sense took the bus out of town in this country.

Pop, what can we do, as private citizens? If they will arrest one of their own, what will they do if private citizens take a stand? Should we:

Write our representatives who have not been doing much thus far?

Start an on-line petition that is sure to lose its lowly power and be

      dropped along the way?

This is not the America I grew up in, but what can a retired couple of

old farts do when the entire world seems to be turning in the wrong

direction. At times, it seems too much to bare. People have lost touch with reality. Common sense has been lost in the quagmire.

      DJ.

      Good Morning Paula,

Actually, I was thinking of skipping breakfast this morning. I have also lost my appetite, but not my anger at what we have become in this country. Military personnel are trained to use firearms properly. The fact that we deny them the right to carry on base is so unbelievable. The terrorists must be rubbing their hands together in anticipation. I think the caps were a good idea. See you at the Inn.
