Updated on February 25, 2020

Dr. Ronny Jackson and President Donald Trump

Ronny Jackson Provides District 13 With Access To President Donald Trump

"I can walk into the Oval Office and talk to President Donald Trump without an appointment," Dr. Ronny Jackson said in an interview,, Sunday, February 23, 2020. He said the fact that the former White House Physician to the President has the ear of the most powerful man in America gives him an edge over the other candidates he's running against in the March 3, 2020 Republican Primary.

Early voting is going on now.

Perfect Storm Created By Mac Thornberry Departure

"The departure of former U.S. Congressman Mac Thornberry after 26 years representing District 13 has created a perfect storm," Jackson said during an interview by telephone. "It would normally be six to eight years before a freshman Congressman could equal the input earned after all those years."

The former adviser to Trump further said, "I can provide immediate input for this district with the President and others in Washington. Thornberry's departure and my retirement from the White House at the same time created a perfect storm."

Admiral Ronny Jackson Would Give District 13 Immediate Access To White House

Dr. Jackson, who is also a retired Rear Admiral from the U.S. Navy, said his access to the President and other people in Washington D.C., would give District 13 immediate access to not only the President, but also to Cabinet members and people in the West Wing. Jackson was kind enough to continue the discussion while he prepared for an event in Amarillo,, Texas.

How Close Are Trump And Jackson?

When asked how he'd describe his relationship with the New York billionaire, Jackson said, "I am completely loyal to him, and he is completely loyal to me." He further said, "The liberal left is trying to cut his head off."

Dr. Jackson Supports Building Trump's Wall

"We need the Wall on our southern border," Jackson said in a firm voice. "The President sent me to the border four times in the last year."

He went to explain that the United States doesn't have the resources to protect the border without Trump's Wall. Jackson further said he visited with people from ICE and Homeland Security, and everyone was in agreement the Wall is needed.

Jackson Disappointed With Thornberry's Failure To Support Transferring Funds For Wall

Admiral Jackson said he was disappointed Thornberry failed to vote in favor of the bill to transfer funds from the Department of Defense to Homeland Security for the Wall. According to the Marine and Navy SEAL, the defense of our southern border is a huge part of our national security.

Jackson Will Help Fix Healthcare System

Dr. Jackson further said he was in a unique position to work with others in the House of Representatives and the President to help repair the problems with America's healthcare emergency.

He said, "The pendulum has swung too far to the left on healthcare. There were problems before, but Obamacare made it worse."

Admiral Jackson also said, "The crazy rhetoric of the left about a single payer plan is not doable."

Healthcare Reform Can Be Achieved

Dr. Jackson said that he believes healthcare reform can be achieved in America. He said he'd look forward to working with the Doctors' Caucus to help bring about needed reforms. The Amarillo resident further said three American institutions face extinction if the "crazy rhetoric" of the far left is allowed to be made into law.

Those three institutions he listed are Big Pharma, private Health Insurance and major hospital organizations. He warned, "These three institutions won't exist any longer if the crazy left gets in control of the House of Representatives and the White House."

Admiral Jackson Claims Obamacare A Disaster

"The healthcare system was in trouble, but Obamacare was a disaster. It made things worse," the doctor said.

He explained that under Obamacare, deductibles and premiums have gone "skyhigh."

While Donald Trump was able to repair some of the damage done by Obamacare when he got rid of the mandates by having them declared unconstitutional, people still can't afford the high co-pays.

Admiral Jackson's Solution For High Taxes On The Middle Class

The retired rear admiral explained the middle class is unfairly burdened by high taxes. He said, "The middle class is paying the taxes in this country. About 50% of the country pay nothing."

What is his solution?

"We can reduce the tax rate if we eliminate reckless spending by our federal government and reduce the bloated bureaucracy."

He also said he feels we need to establish a debt ceiling and to "stop the continuing resolution stuff."

District 13 Of Texas

Texas District 13 of the United States House of Representatives includes most of the Texas Panhandle, parts of Texoma and northeastern parts of North Texas, according to Wikipedia. The two principal cities are Amarillo and Wichita Falls, Texas. Longtime Representative Republican Mac Thornberry is not running for re-election in 2020.

Voting March 3 For 13th District

The race for the 13th District is entering the homestretch with final voting slated for March 3, 2020. People in the two major cities of Wichita Falls and Amarillo have already been casting early ballots. The District has been predominantly Republican since Mac Thornberry's first election to the post.

Strong Red District

According to the Cook Partisan Voting Index, this is the most partisan Republican district in the United States. However, things have not always been that way along the southern border of the Red River which divides Oklahoma from Texas.

District Was Once Blue

As late as 1976, Jimmy Carter won 33 of the 44 counties in this district. The Georgia peanut farmer won 33 of the 44 counties in this district. Democrats held most local offices well into the 1990s. However, since Thornberry ousted three-term Democrat Bill Sarpalius in 1994, the GOP has gained control of the region.

Barack Obama Received 18.5% Of District Vote

Although Barack Obama steamrolled his way to two Presidential election victories in 2008 and 2012 against John McCain and Mitt Romney, he only carried 18.5% of he vote in this Republican district. Hillary Clinton in 2016 received only 16.9% of the voters here.

The fact even Obama's charismatic campaign speeches couldn't sway more voters reveals just how conservative the district has become in recent years.

District Was Once Up For Grabs

Democrat Graham Purcell took over the seat in 1962 and held it until 1973. Purcell enjoyed telling the story of how President Lyndon Baines Johnson put him up at the White House and had his laundry done for him when Purcell first arrived in Washington. Purcell said things were more civil in his day when Republicans and Democrats actually got along with each other. Since Purcell, Republican Bob Price, Democrat Jack Hightower, Democrat Bill Sarpalius and Republican Mac Thornberry have exchanged the position.

Sheppard Air Force Base

Admiral Jackson Will Grow Military In District 13

The Admiral said with his unique contacts he will be able to grow the military in District 13. He said if the liberals gain control they will "come after the military." Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls as well as Pantex near Amarillo and Bell Helicopter would be at risk if the left gains control.

Why Is Sheppard Air Force Base So Important?

Sheppard Air Force Base is critical to the existence of Wichita Falls. Estimates have ranged from a population loss of 20,000 to 30,000 for the area were Sheppard to be closed down. The population of this city would fall drastically without the personnel the base brings to the Wichita Falls-Burkburnett, Texas area.

Residents worried in the past during rounds of military base closings during prior administrations. Will there ever be another series of base closings in America when politicians start looking for places to cut the budget?

Admiral Jackson's commitment to the military and Sheppard Air Force Base could be important factors in the future of both Wichita Falls and Burkburnett.

Access To President Donald Trump

Dr. Jackson has run campaign ads in which President Donald Trump proclaims him to be a great leader. Direct access to the man who works out of the oval office would of course be critical to the future of not only Wichita Falls, but also the rest of the district during these stormy times. It never hurts to know the most powerful man in the world.

Oil And Gas Industry

Admiral Jackson also promised to protect the oil and gas industry of the area. He mentioned there is hostility among some politicians in other parts of the country to the oil and gas industry. A former roustabout, he said he is supportive of the industry and will oppose attacks on it.

Donald Trump Concludes Amazing Campaign On Inauguration Day

Runoff Likely In Large Field

With 13 candidates in the crowded field, it is unlikely a winner will be declared on March 3. That means there will be a runoff between the top two vote-getters. Which means the old adage that every vote counts is especially true in the fabled 13th District. The final election will be in May.
