Even if life is a bed of roses
It is said that life is not a bed of roses. This is because life is not easy. That is virtually everybody has a struggle to overcome even those who are successful in life still have some struggles which can be in their families, business as they strive to maintain their status, health, occupation among others.
The religious are not free from it because they also struggle especially in the struggle to tolerate and love others despite the obvious religious difference and to forgive their enemies. Above all, it is a task to overcome the material things and become more spiritually inclined.
The leaders of nations are not free from the struggles and challenges of life. This is because they know it is not easy to be a leader and to head any office. Consequently, they are faced with the choice of making decisions that affects the lives of their citizens and, maybe, the lives of those in other nations as the world focus towards a global society.
However, it is obvious that some people are better placed in a society and they are more successful than others are. Therefore, it may seem they do not have challenges, struggles, and other difficulties as compared to others in obvious struggles. Especially those who are living in countries affected by war and other hardship that needs global attention or to a lesser extent low class citizens in the various countries.
We are faced with many difficulties in life, great marriages have gone apart, and people suffer various kinds of illness of unknown pathologic origin. These are the things that make us say “the world is not a bed of roses” but I was made to understand that even if the world is a bed of roses, then roses have thorns and it is just that some people are found in the thorns of life. The task is for us to work our way out of the thorns in the roses of life and move closer to rose even though we cannot completely avoid its thorns.
