The First Amendment Is Your Right, Unless You Are Conservative
As an American, do you take your freedoms for granted?
The First Amendment is the right to the freedom of speech. All Americans are entitled to free speech, or should be.
However, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), has recently come forward and admitted its guilt to unfairly targeting conservative groups trying to get non-profit status. This includes 501(c)3 and 501(c)4 status and already existing non-profit organizations have been audited at an alarming rate.
One example: The Billy Graham Evangelical Association was audited as recent as 2010 since Obama has been in office.
On June 25, 2013, the American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ) amended their lawsuit, adding an additional 16 Tea Party groups to their lawsuit, totaling 41 Tea Party groups they are representing against the IRS.
Democratic Senators and House Rep. Urged the IRS to Scrutinize on Tea Party Groups
U.S. Democratic Senators and House Democrats sent letters to the IRS, prompting the IRS to scrutinize conservative groups. This kind of special targeting is specifically called "Viewpoint Discrimination."
Senator Carl Levin (D) Michigan wrote to Doug Shulman and Lois Lerner in 2012, encouraging them to put pressure on conservative groups.
In 2012 Carl Levin and other Democratic Senators personally signed a letter asking the IRS to "cap" non-profit spending or face legislation.
That included Senators: Chuck Shumer (D) N.Y., Al Franken (D) Minnesota, Michael Bennet (D) Colorado, Sheldon Whitehouse (D) R.I., & Jeanne Shaheen (D) N.H.
Also involved was House Representative Shelley Berkley (D) Nevada.
ACLJ to Defend Conservative Groups
The American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ) is currently defending 27 different groups that received unfair treatment by the IRS Department because they had "Tea Party," "Patriot," or gave some indication of being a conservative group. It is none other than viewpoint discrimination at its finest.
Lois Lerner and her Corrupt Practices at the IRS
Lois Lerner, the Director of Exempt Organizations at the IRS, has said on record to reporters that the IRS did engage in "absolutely inappropriate" actions by front line IRS employees in Cincinnati They actively searched out groups identified above as Tea Party or Patriot and put them through a more intensive process.
This scandal has taken place on a much larger scale than in Cincinnati. This article states that Lois Lerner knew about the unfair targeting back in 2011, despite the fact that it was taking place as early as in 2010. Other groups included in this unfair targeting include Jewish groups and groups that study the Constitution, according to the article.
Let's be honest here, Lois Lerner knew about it because she was at the forefront of the scandal. She personally signed questionnaire letters to non-profits, scrutinizing their organizations.
Don't be fooled, this is not limited to the city of Cincinatti. Lawyers all over D.C. have reported to the ACLJ that this type of viewpoint discrimination has been taking place in Washington, D.C. Lawyers of non-profits have said that their clients non-profit status have been held up for at least a year. If you think that's bad, keep reading to learn about the special treatment given to Malik Obama (next section).
One might now point out that Ohio is a battleground state for Presidential elections, particularly the 2012 election. Applying what we know about their admitted guilt, the IRS was instrumental in targeting conservative and Tea Party groups, and could have seriously impacted the last election.
Donald Trump said publicly on Facebook May 16, 2013: "Obama & his people did a brilliant job of delaying these scandals until after the election. Mitt must be going wild thinking about it!"
We pay the salaries of the corrupt IRS. It is time that they are held accountable for their corrupt ways and ruthless tactics of viewpoint discrimination.
What Does All This Have to do with the Obama Administration?
However, one non-profit group received preferential and even expedited treatment in its tax exemption application. This non-profit group happens to be none other than the Barack H. Obama Foundation, and has been operating illegally in the Commonwealth of Virginia for years. But that's okay because he knows someone that can clear his name.
Corruption from the Desk of the White House
One non-profit that received tax exempt status in a record 30 day was Malik Obama - President Obama's half-brother. Lois Lerner personally approved and signed Malik Obama's non-profit under the name: The Barack H. Obama Foundation.
This "charity" operated illegally for several years. It is also important to note that Lois Lerner also did something else that is rare: She granted retro-active tax exempt status for Malik Obama's non-profit for prior years illicit activities. Can someone say: Corrupt much?
Organizations named after the sitting President are often scrutinized harder than your typical non-profit. This one was stamped and pushed through the door in an unprecedented one month's time.
Meanwhile, conservative, non-profit organizations are still waiting to hear back from the IRS on their tax exempt status.
It is important to note that this source points out, "it is illegal to operate longer than 27 months without and IRS determination and solicit tax-deductible contributions."
There is no doubt at all that the President had full knowledge of the expedition of Malik Obama's non-profit and retro-active tax exemption.
The last President that tried such tactics was Nixon, and he was impeached for targeting liberal political groups.
The IRS is Going to Run Your Healthcare
The IRS is the same great group of people that will be running Obamacare -- which is another violation of American's rights to choose for themselves. We (the people) didn't ask any politicians to act on our behalf and ram it through. This was done in a shadowy manner, abusing their power in office, and betraying our trust.
Obamacare is yet another prime example of what happens when you let someone in political office tell you what you can or cannot do.
Who's paying for it?
We all are.
Editorial Commentary
I wish I could see the silver lining in all of this and say that we have an honest man of integrity in office. Unfortunately, the burden of proof now falls on the President's desk.
Will he continue to act uniformed and deny his knowledge about all of this?
Probably so.
How do liberals respond to breaking the First Amendment under Obama?
Common Liberal Reponses to this Historic Scandal:
- The Tea Party is an extremist group; they deserve it.
- The Tea Party is racist and this is their just treatment (said by NAACP spokesman)
- But Bush did ___________ when he was President.(Bush never violated the Constitution, and is no longer President)
It is time for all of the liberals to take responsibility, because your elected leader is failing the country as a President. Bush is no longer President, so its time for you to stop crying about Bush, and wake up to the corrupt Government we now have under Obama.
All employees of the IRS found guilty of selective targeting should be fired. If you only fire the top dog of this scandal, then you will continue to have a corrupt IRS department running Obamacare.
Nixon Then...Obama Now
ABC News: IRS Targeting Linked to Obama Political Agenda
- Michele Bachmann: The IRS targeting of Tea Party groups tied to Obama’s political agenda | Power Pla
Rep. Michele Bachmann (R – Minn.) is railing against the IRS’s targeting of Tea Party groups, saying: “clearly, this had political implications…that would benefit President Obama." The evidence is overwhelmingly clear that Obama was directly involved
