What a Mess!

Thank you all for joining me this morning. I have been thinking about the upcoming July 4th celebration, and I am wondering what there is to celebrate. Speaking strictly for me, I am not feeling the fresh scent of liberty in the air. Instead of being told to enjoy the company of good friends and the fireworks, I, and the rest of America, are being told to remain vigilant. It seems that there is a strong possibility that there may be a terrorist attack on our own soil. Press Secretary Josh Not-So - Earnest played down the threat, but others who know a whole lot more than him think otherwise. Tell me, how exactly do we remain vigilant? If I go to the beach, should I pack a weapon? If I go to the mall should I creep around looking for the bad guys? Maybe I should just stay home and call it a day, a bad day. ISIS is running circles around our nation and the world, and we are all marching to their very ugly and psychotic tune.

Monitoring the Threats

The FBI is going to be setting up shop around the country monitoring any potential terror threats. I wish them luck with that. We have been told that ISIS sympathizers are in virtually every state. These demons could be anywhere and there is no way to monitor all of them. With ISIS expanding rapidly along our borders, we are all at risk. Thanks to the powerful drug lords, terrorists can freely move in and out of our country. The underground tunnels are highways for terrorists. There are credible reports that ISIS has set up training camps along our southern border. What are we doing about it? From where I sit, it looks like we are doing very little, and I am being generous when I say this.

No Enforcement

The Obama administration has ended most immigration enforcement at a time when we need to quadruple our efforts to close our borders. The DHS has reduced detention of illegal border crossers. The administration has implemented the Priority Enforcement Program which severely limits our ability to keep our communities safe. Under this program, the administration will ignore illegal aliens who were previously identified as priorities for removal prior to the adoption of the PEP. In this illustrious group of people will be illegals who have recently crossed the border, illegals who have returned to the U.S. after being removed in the past and aliens who received final removal orders after January 1, 2014. In other words, it is a free-for-all get out of jail card. Ninety -six percent of illegal aliens who arrived here during last summer's surge are still living here.

A Government in Free-Fall

As we approach July 4th, we should be mourning the loss of freedom in our nation. The Executive Branch of our government has usurped the role of Congress and is now writing and passing laws under the guise of executive privilege. The Congress is dead in the water. I don't know what function they have now, but it seems like a waste of time and money. The Judicial Branch has waltzed into areas they were never meant to wade in. It is very sad to realize that in a blink of an eye, the Supreme Court became the arbiters of social transformation and the editors of Obamacare. I don't know for sure who is running this country, but it certainly is not any of us. We are just pawns in a very ugly power game that has torn our Constitution to pieces. Stay safe this week-end and remain vigilant. The government needs watching just as much as ISIS.

Washington, Washington

The whole year through

Your just an old sour song

That has droned on for too long.
