How to Stop Illegal Aliens

Updated on May 24, 2010

Many States along the border with Mexico suffer from the millions of illegals that cross the border. Fact is, because the US system is so generous, most of them take advantage of it and the end result is costing taxpayers of the State more and more via medical, insurance and social programs. They come for a better life yet they cause more financial stress on the budget because we are unwilling to so just say "no".

There are several ways to say no. Take food stamps, that are only for those here legally or citizens. Many illegal aliens continue to get them because they live with those here legally. Agencies should be allowed to ask for immigration documents of everyone in the home and if illegals are present, the food stamps should be cut off. Food stamps should only be available to those immigrants who can pass a basic English verbal and written exam. The same that is required for becoming a citizen.

Another way is to require anyone seeking medical help that they cannot pay for or covered is to prove legal status. This will curtail the abuse of going to the ER or other facility. This is a huge problem as the current law states that no one can be turned a person away.

Employers suffer a huge fine if illegal aliens are employed. Right now, it is a little slap. If the person cannot show they are here legally, they cannot be hired in the normal manner.

As American we are generous people, so it is pretty hard to say NO to hungry children or someone who desperately needs medical attention.

I think we should start keeping tabs and all the money we spend on illegals and present the bill to Mexico. After all, it is Mexico's obligation to care for their own people.

Illegals need to be rounded up and deported.

We need a Berlin type wall armed with skinheads.

      End of story!

I think some 50 cal machine guns at the border would ward a lot of them off, too. Doesn't mean we have to use them, just display them.

      Keep on hubbing.

I quite agree perrya! Why anything illegal one should go on tolerating. It slowly moves towards unmanageable criminality too. Immigration should be regularized looking at needs and should be legal only. I recently expressed similar sentiment in one of my hub on population myths.

Instead of doing such simple things as you suggest it is surprising that people are thinking of complicated things like Arizona law which can trouble average American much more than illegal immigrants.
