I will Wear The Badge of Freedom

Updated on October 6, 2012
In 1990 I wrote the lyrics to a song about freedom and standing up for America, it was taken without my permission and made into what was to become a world renowned song and sung by a well known Country and Western Singer. This is dedicated to it.

Song Lyrics of a Finest Quality

I will wear the badge of freedom,

and of my courage, every day,

For there is no finer quality,

to show of life, in every way.

As long as I am alive and well,

I'll stand and to raise my voice,

About the rights that freedom brings,

of all liberty and of choice.

refrain:

My badge of freedom shows my will,

I'm dedicated, and I'm strong.

I wear it proudly upon my chest,

for its in America, where I belong.

My Voice of hope and liberty,

I'll send to all this world, my song,

A message of truth for humanity,

to fight, and make right, all wrongs.

It will ring across wide oceans,

then over mountains, and all the lands,

The price of what was gained by this,

was by the toil of all our hands.

The men who bled and died for us each,

left a rich heritage for us all,

They gave us assurance, we were safe,

by them answering their last call.

Refrain: (repeat here)

When God shared this earth with his people,

He meant for us, His very best,

The rich, the poor, the big and small,

with his grace, we all were blessed.

There were no differences to be present,

and honor shown to every one,

All races, creeds and cultures,

were then mixed, beneath a warming sun.

Refrain: add here

My badge of freedom shines in the night,

a beacon to follow home, by its light,

A guide to reach past the sands of time,

that leads people, to a life, sublime.

Freedom earned by the tests of toil,

then planted by the weary, in a fertile soil,

Born then to reach for the sun's fine light,

to live and prosper, in a future, that's bright.

Refrain (add here):
