Is He a Fascist?

Updated on August 18, 2014

Wasp Tevya is at the Table

Good Morning, Breakfastpoppers. Today is Monday, August 17, 2014. Our delightful and wise friend, Wasp Tevya, is at the breakfast table. He has asked for the pleasure of your company this morning. Tevya has brought over dozens of bagels with cream cheese. I will be mixing up a batch of Irish coffees. Tevya has been wondering if President Obama deserves to be referred to as a socialist. Please join us and listen to what he has discovered.

Doing the Research

Thank you all for joining me this morning. I have been wondering if calling your President Obama a socialist is a fair and accurate statement. I have concluded that it is not and I and my fellow bugs have agreed to drop the word. The decision is based upon facts, not political correctness. The simple truth is that President Obama does not adhere to socialist principles. Socialism is an economic system. The means of production are owned by the government. Obama does not want to "own" the means of production. He prefers to control it and control it he does.

Buried Under Regulations

So if President Obama is not a socialist what is he? Well, this bug thinks it far more accurate to describe him as a fascist. For one thing, fascists allow citizens to own their own businesses. In fact, they like it that way because if something goes wrong, it is so easy to blame the business owner and not the government.

What a fascist prefers is to completely control the privately owned small business or corporation by regulating it to death. Does this sound familiar? The government controls the economy by burdening it with hideous taxes and regulations. If an "owner" can't make a profit, don't look to the government. The failure lies with the hapless management. It's a win-win for the government and a lose-lose for the private sector. America has the highest corporate tax rate in the world! It is nearly impossible to compete in the world market when you start out behind the eight ball. America's small business owners are being choked out of existence by mountains of regulations. That, my dear friends, is fascism.

Government Control

Fascism is very supportive of the single party state. We don't actually have that yet, but it is being worked on. I suppose first you have gridlock, then you have executive orders and then you have one party and that party is the president's party. Fascists hate almost everything. They are definitely anti-communist, completely anti-democratic, thoroughly anti-conservative and totally anti-individual. Fascists also oppose liberalism which may explain why your President Obama seems so confused and wishy-washy about the issues. The one facet of fascism that has played out quite distinctly in this administration is the desire to suppress all opposition. No one enjoys criticism, but this administration has elevated this to new heights. The campaign against FOX News is a perfect example. Clearly, this administration has gained control over the MSM, because they stopped reporting all the news when President Obama entered the White House. The right to free speech has been severely damaged in America. Political correctness and vindictive reprisals (think IRS) have become the norm. That's fascism!

Who Me?

Fascism works quite well as a system of governing where blame is something that must always fall on someone else's shoulders. If President Obama controls the economy and unemployment numbers improve, it is a big success for the president. If the numbers look bad, blame corporate America. Perhaps the reason your President Obama can vacation so much and get in so many rounds of golf is because his conscious is clear. The private sector must be screwing up again.

Life must be very pleasant when you can take credit for every success, or perceived success, and turn blame for failure elsewhere. It's good to be the king!

Tevya's Song

Dear God, you made so many fascists

It's a shame to be a fascist

And it's no great honor either!

      Dear Mikr,

Let's face it. His priorities are elsewhere. At this point, I expect Obama to ignore anything that doesn't further his quest to divide our nation and ''change'' us forever. He appears to be on schedule. See you at the Inn.

He will not cancel a vacation or a trip to the golf course for something as minor as a US Citizen being beheaded. If he did end it short an return to Washington he would have to make some decisions and we all know how that goes.

Besides that, we have to wonder where his loyalties really lie.

      Dear Pino,

Never has there been a more disengaged president in the history of our nation!!!! See you at the Inn.

POP: Facist is a great label for the Big O. After the beheading yesterday, even PM Cammeron cancelled his vacation and went back to work. Obama? He started the back nine.......

Nixon resigned over a break in. I never liked him, but compared to Obsma he was a pussy cat(well almost).see you at the Inn.

Perhaps you're right about the fascist label. My thought is that no matter how we label him, he's certainly authoritarian - dictatorial even. Those who are enthralled by him are blind to his authoritarianism, just as Republicans, for a while, were blind to Nixon's authoriarian tendencies.

      Dear billrrr,

Perhaps there is less publicity because the world is imploding and it looks bad to see the president playing in the sand!

      Dear Pamela,

If Obama had any interest in improving the economy he would stop creating all these rules and regulations. He is doing everything he can to destroy big and small business. When owhen

obamacare fails, he will blame the insurance companies. See you at the Inn.

As I reply to this post, President Obama and his brood are here on Cape Cod again. It must be nice to have a job that comes with so much vacation time....and on our dime.

You might be interested to know Tevya, that it seems as though the publicity this time around, was much less than usual. We barely know he's here.

      I like it like that.

Obama has certaining been consistent in his behavior and you described him well. I never thought of him as a fascist. but maybe so. I have always thought he was a narcisist as his social life if more important to him than anything to do with his job. He has no clue as to how to improve our economy or anything else really, not that he want to. The only thing he knows how to do is talk.

He has always blamed everyone else for any thing at all that happens and Bush is still being blamed all these years later.

Don't know if I am totally on board with fascists, but I am not all that well verses on what one is. I looked it up and some things apply and others don't. One person mentioned that the leader is usually a dictator, and good thing he's out of office soon; but I can sure see where if he has many of the traits.

      Dear fp,

I agree! But I do think it important that voters realize just how important it is to get him out of the WH! See you at the Inn.

      Good Morning, Billy,

I understand about labels, but these labels are important in that they speak to an economic system that ultimately controls everything and everyone. In order to guard against our country turning into something it was never meant to be, we have to know what signs to look for. I happen to agree with you about Homeland Security. They scare the hell out of me. See you at the Inn.

Great definitions of what Fascism is, and I agree that is where we are now.

I also believe that Obummer is a puppet and others are pulling the strings. The numbers of people wishing for a One World Government are growing, and I feel much of this is just part of the plan to acheive that goal.

This hub was very informative and I wish everyone could read it as see where we are headed.

I'm not big on labels like this, but I am big on fervor and speaking out against injustice. If you keep doing so, and it comes from love of your country, then I'll keep reading. :) And speaking of fascist states...the birth of Homeland Security should frighten everyone in this country.

While I agree with your logic about Obama, there is one thing missing for him to be a traditional Facist, he has only two more years, and facists are usually dictators that are in that position until someone gets them out or they die.
