Judge me...Judge me not

Updated on December 14, 2010

Early dismissal

Judged by some a pseudo intellect

I, nevertheless, stick out my neck

I challenge your lack of circumspect

My right to opinion, your respect

Do not dismiss me per predilect

Historically ignorant, you direct

Closed to ideas, you do not connect

Knowing it all, closet meglalomaniac

Experience teaches there is no perfect

But, go on now, indubitably, correct

with your one-sided, adamant dialect

Addressing the chosen deemed adequate

No power have you now to affect

No wound, no tears from your neglect

Open I remain, despite your abject

As one more follower, your loyal subject.

Smoke and mirrors

Amazing talent you have! I wish it could be bottled. I'd sure buy it in bulk. I love when a writer can strike an emotional chord in me.

That is such an interesting comment. I'm glad you find relevance in this piece. It is so enlightening to me to hear the specifics of the commentors interpretation. I can see that you completely "get" it, as your reference is a perfect fit with this write. Thank you, A.A.

This reminds me of so many college professors I had. Utterly arrogant, defer to no one, unable to acknowledge praise of others, bitter at the notoriety of others. Open I did remain, and remained their loyal subject till grades came out. Thanks for sharing.

Neil, thank you for such an intuitive, sincere comment. Yes, I have been called "extremely hardheaded and stubborn" and I will be the first to admit that these are true statements. However, I will also be the first to admit when I change my mind about anything. I am not easily "talked into" a change of opinion, but I do consider everyone's ideas and have been known to be very affected by sincerity, even when I don't see eye to eye. During my imposed sojourn away from the computer, I have been reading Kurt Vonnegut, Jr.'s writings. I share many of his ideas, which I don't classify as positive or just is. I knew nothing of him prior to recently. Although he classifies himself as agnostic, I find him truly moral and kind to all living things. I think I could have loved him and even though he has passed, I do. Thank you for your words as I know you mean them. I find your comments extremely interesting and heartfelt...and of great value to me.

Cool way of making a point. I love this quote "some people are so narrow minded they can look through a keyhole with both eyes."

When many first meet me they think I am an opinionated hard head (and they are partly correct) but they later find out I am always open minded and warm hearted at the same time. Being tough minded is often misinterpreted as opinionated.... and that is the point many people miss with me. Do you find the same?

I think you are much the same way. Very open minded and warm hearted and thus you learn something everyday to add to your already strong (tough) mind. You are a warm wise soul and it shows in your writing.

      I love your style

Dear James, thank you very much for your comments. I am honored. The caliber of your writing is so far beyond mine that I value your critique beyond what I can express. I feel extremely fortunate to have a following that includes you. In fact, all those that read and grace me with their comments give me more than I deserve. I am very grateful for each and every one. Truly

What a fabulous comment, RobertBloggert! Singer, I'm not, but by BFF is! It sounds to me like you are quite the imaginative artist...even the artists chosen for style. Thank you so much for your extraordinary words. I could live off of those words. They feed my soul.

Bravo Amy, (insert standing ovation) you have my respect. Reading your poetry is like when you hear a great singer and we use the term "They got it". Well the "it" you have. You are a wonderful gift Amy and this was a beautiful read.

I'm really thinking this would sound good put to some music too, but your vibe is throwing me a little. I'm feeling a little Carrie Underwood, yet there's a hint of Salt n Pepper Diva as well, hmmm. I may have to try, can you sing as well???

      Voted up and Beautiful!

Dear BobbiRant, You are an orignal...I can say the same comment about you. Your writing is passionate, straight from your heart and your sense of morality...not preachy, but infused with humor. That is very rare. It touches everyone who has the pleasure of reading your strong, and biting humorous reads. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking the time to read and comment.

Great write and how true this is. You write from the heart, the inner soul and this is the sort of writing I seek out on hub pages. Continue on and I will continue to enjoy each piece.

Dear De Greek: thank you very much for your comment and fan mail. Isn't Epigramman just too wonderful? I, like everyone who knows him, love him. I have read some of your genius. You are an amazing writer with a truly creative spirit. I am definitely an admirer and will go back to your site later tonight. Again, my sincere thanks

Now I'm going to have to admit that I "wait" for your comments, Epigramman. You have created a monster and an addict, you have....I am now becoming an egomaniac. How could I not, when you say things that make my heart sing.

Thank you from the bottom of my egocentric heart.
