Loving the First Amendment
Freedom of Speech
I have to say I love the First Amendment. Although I do believe I have offended my first reader. Obviously, it was not my intention as I don't like to hurt anyone's feelings. However, because we haven't turned into a communist country (yet), I still have the freedom to say it as I see it. I believe I have every right to voice my opinion that Muslim holidays should not be observed here in America. Just as Muslims believe in allah, I believe in Jesus. My reader believes that perhaps God is a ficticious character. And because of the First Amendment, he is allowed to say so. He states no religion of his own, but does believe that all people should be treated equal. I'd like to say that in some respect, I agree, because it does sound good in theory. Then reality sets in. All people should NOT be treated as equals. Should this country cater to illegal immigrants? Hell No. Yet in too many cases we do. We make excuse after excuse for them. Prime example: Obama's Aunt. I have the disgusting privilege of living in the same neighborhood as her. She was court ordered a number of times to leave this country. Not only did she stay here illegally, the system catered to her. She never paid taxes here, yet she receives a disability check from our government each month. Granted the check amount isn't much, but it's more than some of our own citizens get and they've paid into the system their whole lives! So now, because she has a limited income, she is given public housing assistance. If all this isn't a slap in the face to any hardworking American, how about the fact that she now claims that our government took advantage of her. It wasn't the other way around? The icing on the cake...now all of the sudden...she's a citizen. It's too dangerous for her to go home. Sounds like a personal problem to me. As far as I can see, she made her bed, she should have had to lie in it. The more I write about it, the madder I get. So NO, I do not believe all people should be treated equally. I believe in this country, if you want something, you work for it. As far as equality in religion...No I don't agree with that either. I believe in the God who exists in MY Bible. The God that America was founded on. And I have no problem with anyone practicing any other faith. Just don't try to ram it down my throat or get mad at me for denouncing it. I'm allowed, I still have the First Amendment. This is America after all. Land of the FREE. Isn't that why so many illegals and people of other faiths come here to begin with?
