MSNBC Defecates on Sarah Palin

Updated on November 24, 2013

The comments were vile, something one never or seldom, ever hears in a public broadcast. The question where was the copy control, editors, Bashir's superiors, why did nobody edit the copy? Maybe it was because they were ad hoc.

Bashir called Palin a “world-class idiot” and took issue with her comments that the United States could become enslaved to other countries that hold American debt. Why this statement ignited the commentator is mind boggling. Maybe Bashir did it for MSNBC ratings, maybe it just took it all wrong, but Palin was correct. China is the nation she referred to about holding much of the US debt in bonds and notes. They do it for investment returns but also, subtle economic control of American policy and should China begin to flex its muscle, such as, suddenly declaring a Chinese air zone over the disputed island in the South China sea claimed by both China and Japan, US reaction is rather muted. It will be muted until the US is forced to take a side (I suspect the US will side with Japan). Just wait until an aircraft is shot at or ship is seized.

Regardless, Palin is correct. Bashir, after calling her an idiot, they dropped the vile comments that went out across the air:

"Someone should defecate or urinate in Palin's mouth". Apparently, Bashir is overly sensitive to the word "slavery", OMG! Yes, the countries that hold the bulk of US debt can be looked upon as being slave owners and the US is enslaved. Since when is the word "slavery" to sensitive to use? Has the political correctness gone too far?

MSNBC seems to think so. When Alec Baldwin called a photographer a "fag" for not backing off on a public street, MSNBC terminated his TV show that just began. With Bashir, all that happened was an apology. I guess it shows just how far to the left on the political spectrum they are.

Bashir is a Despicable Me.

Forgive me but your remark confuses me- ‘ It is amazing how much spin is being put on this. It is quite clear what she meant and anyone in debt does feel enslaved and to deny is just being in denial’ makes me shake my head in wonder, because earlier you said; ‘Nobody really knows what kind of spin was intentional and what was not.’- a response to my questioning the motive behind the women’s words. So, if I am reading your latest missive correctly- you actually DO now know what she was really saying as well as what she was thinking? Your use of the word, ‘spin’? Does that mean- as way of definition- the reader’s misunderstanding of the author’s words / thoughts or Palin herself speaking with passive-aggressive undertones? I can only speak for myself as well as my summation. This woman is not bright. I don’t really believe I have to elaborate on that statement, nor prove it. She has done a fine job of that herself. But, what the hey- let’s do it. I like this quote; “To reduce deficit spending and our enormous debt, you reign in spending. You cut the budget. You don’t take more from the private sector and grow government with it. And that’s exactly what Obama has in mind with this expiration of Bush tax cuts proposal of his.” I can’t begin to delve into the egregious grammatical errors, the nonsensical cognitive reasoning, run-on sentences, etc. Let’s bring it down to her level, shall we? Sarah Palin is for the Republican extremists- the white folks that can’t believe a black man became president who looks out for the poor and disadvantaged. Her ‘semantics’ are consistently ever-present. She, as Rush Limbaugh, made comments against the Pope-another man that looks out for the poor and disadvantaged. She stated; “Some statements to me sound kind of liberal, has taken me aback, has kind of surprised me." She, of course, clarified later that she had been assured by a few of her Catholic friends, he was indeed a good shepherd. Whew! That was close. She now can assure us that Pope Francis might indeed be a good guy. Spin? Hell, I’m in a tornado. It’s all about motive, message, and agenda. Anyone that cares about the poor are Marxist, anti-Christ, and even Socialists. So…what label do we place God? By the way-I put myself through college and never once felt ‘enslaved’ , I was in debt. As far as China? We have owed money to other countries since the Revolutionary War. And the only enslavement then was..oh, ya, African people.

How about the millions of college students enslaved by the student loan, yes, they knew what would happen if they got the degree but no job, still, many feel being a slave to the debt owed (being forced to work low wage jobs), just to pay the interest on the loan. It is all semantics.

May be we all take this too serious.

So just sit back and watch Sarah Palin as President of the Americas in the movie "Iron Sky" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uimh2EBB1yQ

What about a venture capital firm holding some 3 to 5% of the shares of a company. Is that also slavery? Is that enslaving the company?

No one is in denial we are in debt slavery. We are in disagreement about who put us there.

Republicans conveniently ignore whole swaths of history, and act like everything came about because of Obama.

I mean, Palin had plenty of opportunity to speak of this when she was candidate. Not like it just started Jan 2009.....hello.

      **********

The opposite is also true. In every truth is the seed of a lie.

Well, I sure dont recall any talk of slavery when Bush borrowed for war, tax cuts and part D.

Nor do I recall Bush called food stamp prez even tho the drive food help was huge under him.

Nor do I recall that smearing Bushs name was considered patriotic.

I guess its just co-incidence that Palin calls it slavery NOW.

Nobody really knows what kind of spin was intentional and what was not. On its face, China does hold much of the US debt and in a creative sense, America can, at times, be like a slave to the debt China saved us from. They could cause much chaos by suddenly selling it. remember, they have already warned us to get our house in order. It would be the same if the president was brown, orange or pink. Just because Obama is 50% black does not allow any slavery connection.

Let's get this out of the way- right from the beginning; I am a woman. That doesn’t mean that I agree with every woman that makes asinine, bloviated, nonsensical statements about our country. We, like men, have free; Will, independent thinking, and distinguishing fact from fiction. We are not an exclusive sisterhood that shuts down our thinking process due to the sex of the speaker. We, like men, call out men and women who speak when one is not informed or competent in which to do so. This woman came from a world of make believe. Her fifteen minutes of fame is long gone and quite frankly, as the Kardashian haters would say-she abused every minute. I won’t go the easy route of using her own quotes to parody her or point out her lack of intelligence. Instead, I will point out why she used her fifteen minutes of fame to go well beyond; I’m rubber and your glue- mentality. She would be harmless if not for the fact she fits right into the Tea Party extreme agenda of using hate and fear. To equate Slavery-a horrible scar on the face of this country as a hyperbole toward her personal agenda and attacks on this president-proves her lethal maneuvering. She explained; I was referring to being beholden to a master. Ya, sure. She, many times, has tried to slide under the radar of double entendre.- if we would use her logic(God forbid) then we are ‘slaves’ to our Lenders, IRS, electric and cable companies, and even our spouses! Despite the fact, this could be a network’s attempt at gaining ratings-(i.e. Fox has enjoyed thru bloviated attempts at hysterics) nonetheless, she needs to go back to Alaska, back to Geography class(ok, I did after all, have to reference her lack of knowledge), and a high suggestion toward- carrying a Thesaurus.

She said Obama pals around with terrorists, and he wants to let our grandparents die.

Those are despicable things to say. Plus, shes the one who called her supporters "real Americans"......whats that make Obama supporters? Easy: not real Americans.

She is the Queen of Mean.

So, I have zero sympathy for her.

Bashir had to apologize, she never wil

Palin did not say anything remotely horrid about Bashir or anyone else. She said America is endangered in being enslaved by foriegn countries holding US debt.

When she, as a woman, says nasty horrid things about people, she, as a woman, deserves it back!

The attack on women is the attack on our rights, and Sarah Palin is part of that.

This is an attack on women. Why is it suddenly P.C. to slander and say dirty things about women? Women of the United States what are you thinking?

Well, back in Bush days, people were offended by "Bush is wrong"

Fox and hate-talk would scream bloody murder if you so much as ctiticized him.

And they do the same with Netanyahu.

So, everyone has their verdion of pc.

And the offensive pc from the right is never apologized for: in fact, ifyou ask them to apologize, they call you pc!

The day the right stops their offensive broadcasting, and apologizes for their disgusting attacks is the day they deserve the same in return.

I agree to a certain degree, but Bashir ONLY apologized because he was instructed to. There is way too much PC in what words are used. Now, Bashir was offended by the word "slavery", really?

Wow-this just came up on twittier feed:

Christian Military American Patriots are calling for Obamas assasination.

They say he is a "dictator", and the 2nd amendment gives them yauthority to do it.

Now, this is the crap you hear all day long on Fox and hate-talk radio.

"Obama is a dictator, a tyrant"

      "Obama is subverting the constitution"

      "Obama wsnts to destroy America"

      Etc, etc, etc

      Day after day after day.

And this is the result.....people who wish him dead. IMO

Im using a tablet, and have no idea how to copy an address, but just google x-tian militia calls for Obamas assasination

Well, I think that is wrong. I cant watch msnbc due to Scarborough, Steele, and that awful smug former Bush spokeswoman. CNN long ago abrigated to the right, and Fox treats Obama like a dog.

I used to enjoy talk radio, but that long ago was bought out by rw business interests.

The worst is the lying tho.

The lies that are spread around, on cue, and become truth to people.

It really is true that people who watch and listen to that stuff live in a false reality.

Sadly, I see it with my own daughter. Soon, she will need an intervention.

Not all that comes from Fox is vile. You have to pick and choose, the same with MSNBC and CNN. with MSNBC, obama can do no wrong, with CNN, not so much, with Fox, obama seldom gets anything right.

Wrong?Yes. He reacted but represented himself as a reporter as many of us have reacted privately, which is unacceptable. Too many times, we have been force fed a vile pill by Fox News pundits; be it racist, beguiling, self-serving, moronic, and even out and out-lies. Maybe this was the proverbial straw that.....I don't know. I wish he kept his head above the slime that he was immersed. You see, we citizens can say anything we want- be it false, derogatory, or some times, even the truth. Doesn't matter- a reporter reports the facts. He needed to call her on the asinine comparison she made to slavery, but in a narrative that adhered to and reflected- an investigative report.

As far as the foreign influence over our government policy goes, I am far more concerned about the fact that we seem to be swapping allies for enemies these days.

Bashir was wrong. The fact that he wasn't run out of town on a rail simply proves what we all knew anyway. The media, at large, is liberal and extremely bias. Wait until someone with a long standing conservative background says something even mildly offensive. The media will make it their unanimous mission to crucify them.

      Oh wait....that's already happened.

America never realized Dr. Kings dream. We just perverted it and used it to fill our own pockets with $. There is no tolerance in this country. Its simply a case of who the favored minority/party/ect...is. We never right any wrongs, we only flip them upside down and let the other side take a few swings for a change. Our American dream has become a nightmare. We boast about freedom and tolerance even as we eviscerate any one who doesn't agree with our view.

We are now, and have been for a long time, economically enslaved to the world economy. To think we aren't is foolhardy. So is thinking we can simply extricate ourselves.

There is no code of conduct in public media, has not been and will not be.

But away from that, Sarah Palin is certainly not the brightest and that makes her easy prey.

And the assertion that America would become enslaved is a little far off. The US in total holds assets of some 800% plus of GDP. Total sum of bonds and investments in foreign hands do range between 50 and 60% of GDP. So that makes it 5% of total assets in foreign hands and about half of the 5% in Chinese hands. Is that a hostile takeover?

Yes, that is way over the top.

But comments like these are used all the time by talk radio and Fox.

Maybe you think what Bashir said is worse than calling someone a baby- killer, or slut, buy I dont.

Palin herself has said Obama pals around with terrorists and wants to kill our seniors.

Sorry, but the days of civility are long gone, and this is just a continuation of it.

And I was watching metal mania last night, Ted Nugent burped out the presidents name, and said "did you catch that?"

In a concert, he told Obama to suck on his gun.

And you expect civility from the other side?

      Way too lae for that.
