Making Congress Irrelevant

Regulatory Adventurism Is The In Thing

Yesterday flying in under the radar was I ever in for a big surprise. Along comes the Regulator-In-Chief buzzing by in the opposite direction. There he was in the very theater of operation where I was conducting my reconnaissance. I knew I must be in the general location of his secret base on gun control so I hit the after burners and took a good look before arming my missiles for this report. I'm sure you noticed the headline and that is the crux of the matter. Obama, being the spoiled child that he is, seems intent on getting his way even if Congress presents an obstacle.

Most of us have heard about the UN Arms Control Treaty, whereby we surrender our sovereignty to this useless body. I'm not fretting too much about that because it has the same chances of being ratified by the Senate as a snow ball has of making it in hell. So there had to be another angle that Obama and his side kick Holder had in mind to get their way about gun control so I was out looking for the angle and I found it. Some of these things are harder to ferret out than others and this one was camouflaged well. I had to look in The Greeley Gazette, of all places, but there it was. The headline read: OBAMA: "I'm working on gun control under the radar. " To find under the radar stuff you have to fly there and I go there often in my pursuit of the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.

It seems that little things like the Second Amendments, court rulings and Congress aren't going to interfere with Obama exercising his agenda any way he has to. Have you noticed that? The administration that claims it is committed to gun rights isn't at all committed to gun rights. I've gotten used to the lying and smoke and mirrors routines so I never listen to what Obama says, I watch what he is doing or not doing.

Ever heard of Steve Crowley? He's the Whine House's Gun Czar. He's also a "regulatory" wizard and has a strong background in tort law. Yes, lost among that legion of Obama Czars is a Gun Control Czar. He is intent upon achieving gun control in this nation by exercising gun control by Presidential directive. Now think about that for a minute or two. Bypassing Congress and the courts seems appropriate to this administration if it can't get its way in the manner that the US Constitution prescribes that things be done in our Republic.

Here's how this went down. Back on March 30th, Jim and Sarah Brady visited the Whine House seeking to ban "large magazines." That coincidentally, or not, was also the day that the assassination attempt was made on Ronald Reagan. They were meeting with talking head Jay Carney when Oblabber himself appeared in the room. According to Sarah, the Prez wanted to chat about gun control and fill in some blanks for the two of them about his "agenda" on the issue.

Now according to Sarah Brady the Gun Controller-In-Chief went further to say and I quote: "I just want you to know that we're working on it. We have to go through a few processes, but under the radar." What the hell. You mean the Campaigner-In-Chief who talked about how "transparent" his administration was going to be has been flying under the radar? Well, I'll be. I hardly noticed. The Huffington Post, of all places again, published an article about how the Whine House is working diligently to bypass Congress, ignore the will of the people and enact gun control through executive decree.

Supposedly the DOJ has also been holding pow wows laying out various options for controlling our Second Amendment rights by enacting regulations of its own or using adjoining agencies to achieve their ends. Why are they going through all of that if, as Obama contends, his administration is committed to gun rights? I think the cat is now out of the bag about the truth. His intent is to grab control of every facet of a citizen's life. Leftists are like that. They love control. When queried on this issue administration officials admit that they are looking at a host of options, including this one, that President Obama and his minions are examining.

Dudley Brown, says this comes as no surprise to him. Dudley is the President of the Rocky Mountain Gun Owners outfit. He put it this way, "It's clear that President Obama and Sarah Brady have been using the ATF to enact what they can't get through Congress: a ban on the importation of self-defense shotguns, new reporting requirements for multiple rifle sales and the attempt to smuggle firearms across the border to Mexican gang members are just a few examples."

The acts of this administration regarding regulatory adventurism should come as no surprise. If they can't get it through Congress then do the end around and try regulating it, thereby making Congress irrelevant. Who needs them anyway? I write a lot about this sort of thing from health care, to financial services, with a smattering of labor policy. So now let me throw in gun control. Obama is a radical and if Congress isn't biting on his radical hook then he'll end around them and attempt to rule by decree. Must I remind Obama that this is a democracy and not his toy to try out his radical ideas, agendas and concepts?

It will be interesting how this sort of thing flies with his Democratic buddies in Congress. This is a subject that Congress shies away from and the courts have landed squarely on concerning the Second Amendment rights of the American people. How radical do those legislators want to appear to their constituents in places like Nebraska, West Virginia and Virgina, not to mention Missouri?

Transparency? It was so dark the night I flew in there under the radar I had to use my night vision goggles, but I saw him and I'm sure he saw me.

In closing, I leave you with this. The First Amendment is the cornerstone of The Bill of Rights. The Second Amendment was put in place to insure adherence to the First Amendment. We don't need to "change" that Obama. Get it?

As Always,

The Frog Prince
