Marie Antoinette Has Been Fired!

Updated on November 3, 2010

Marie Antoinette has been fired! The American people have spoken and Nancy Pelosi has been replaces as Speaker of the House. I could have just as easily titled this piece “Ding Dong the Witch is Dead”, but I might get called insensitive for such a thing. We know how I would hate that.

Comparing Nancy Pelosi to Marie Antoinette is probably not fair; not fair to Marie Antoinette. The phrase “Let them eat cake” is really just a journalistic cliché and it has never been proven that she actually said such a thing. “We have to pass it to see what is in it” however is attributed, without a shadow of a doubt, to Nancy Pelosi. One remark being just as ignorant as the other. Whereas Marie Antoinette is generally considered a dupe, in spite of being a queen, she is not comparable to one of the most powerful Speakers of the House. Marie Antoinette was tried and convicted of treason, and I personally would not mind seeing Nancy Pelosi following her lead on that count. Her blatant disregard for the Constitution should be considered nothing short of treason.

The “reign of terror” is over now, though. Not a moment too soon either. We still have a lot of work to do taking back our country, but at least for now the House is taken care of. Hopefully, now, we can restore respect for our Constitution. There are still plenty of dangerous representatives and Senators out there in spite of the gains made during this mid-term election. We still have to worry about the Barney Franks and Harry Reids. In other words, our work is nowhere near done. We have to continue to push for accountability in our elected representatives. We still have to repeal Nancy Pelosi’s pet project: Health Care reform. It will be a difficult task considering the Nancy Pelosi is still in the House of Representatives. We cannot let up. Not now. There is still too much work to be done. The mid-term election was just the first step in getting our country back.

Awesome hub! Politics has become so disheartening. One does not know what to make of it.

All I can say is AMEN brother, however, with a touch of sobriety, Queen Nancy was able to retain her seat, and therefore thoroughly proving to the American people SHE doesn't get it. I look forward to reading more of your articles. thank you for your service.

Well said my friend. The only sad part is she did not carry the other part of her team, old Harry, out the door with her. That would have made it a really clean sweep. Oh well, his time is coming again and this time we will get him. If you have not done so, you need to read the latest hub by FittnezzJim. Time-for-Change-Constitutional-Change. If we pay attention to Jim and write our letters, we just might start turning this mess around. I slept very well last night knowing Nancy was gone by-by.

Awesome Hub. Now we just need to keep on our Representatives make sure they do what they are supposed to and hold those accountable in 2012 who don't.

I am afraid I will never understand that, Jim. It is absolutely beyond understanding. Especially when you consider their economy in California. It makes as much sense as Ted Kennedy continually getting reelected, or Barney Frank being elected.

Beyond understanding that she got re-elected.

What is so different in California?
