Trump Vs. Hillary Showdown

Updated on September 6, 2020

The American population is easily one of the most influential group of people I have ever come to know. We do, say, eat, and think the way we are told to. What happened to our own originality? Our way of life is being controlled by media, government, and trends. "That celebrity doesn't like that other celebrity! We have to hate them, too!" Do you? No. You really don't. Have your own opinion, do your own research and decide for yourself. Which leads me to the main topic of this passage. Donald Trump, Hillary Clinton and the 2016 Elections.

TRUMP:

This man was born and raised in New York City and as a child attended The Kew-Forest School in Forest Hills New York. That is, until he left at the age of 13 due to behavioral problems. Not hard to believe. He was then sent to The New York Military Academy which apparently didn't straighten him out enough. Time went on and as we know, he was given a "small loan of a million dollars." That's it? His parents must not have loved him. Not many people know, but Donald Trump contemplated running for president in 1988, 2004 and 2012, but only just acted on it in June of 2015. Good idea? Not so sure. His views on popular topics are some I don't necessarily agree with, but I’m a firm believer in having your own opinion, just not opinions that hurt people in any way shape or form. Trump rallies are violent and hateful. It doesn't matter if he is pro-life, racist, homophobic and a big believer that climate change doesn't exist, if he wants to be president he has to put his differences aside and do what is right for this country. I have to say, personally I agree with him on gun laws, education, veterans and health care. He once said "Democrats want to confiscate all guns, which is a dumb idea because only the law-abiding citizens would turn in their guns and the bad guys would be the only ones left armed". (http://www.rollcall.com/news/politics/trump-touts-nra-endorsement-despite-past-views-guns). Unfortunately, I have to say he's very right. Taking the guns away from people who use them the correct way will not help the shooting situations in this country, but you have to think, when the Second Amendment was written, they didn't have heavy assault rifles. It's a very sensitive topic, but it's one that needs to be addressed at once. Now, with education I am very passionate about all children having the same chances and encouragement. Trump is also a big believer in education and he knows how expensive college is and he plans on doing something about that. We'll see, and we'll continue to hope. Last, but not least, health care and veterans. Donald is more than against Obama Care and more than with army veterans. He said we shouldn't have people dying in the streets, especially our veterans. Like I said, the media only shows you what they want you to see. Do your own research. I'm not saying I'm with this man because, I would be lying completely, but what I am saying is to not believe everything you hear.

CLINTON:

Hillary Diane Rodham Clinton was born in Chicago and raised in Park Ridge, Illinois. She served as the 67th United States Secretary of State from 2009-2013, the Junior United States Senator representing New York from 2001 to 2009, First Lady of the United States during the presidency of Bill Clinton from 1993 to 2001, and First Lady of Arkansas during his governorship from 1979 to 1981 and from 1983 to 1992. Did I mention any political experience with Trump? Point proven. Now just because Clinton has the experience doesn't mean she can handle running a country. Yet again the media is dictating our views with her email schemes. We really don't even know if any of this is true or false. We only know what is being presented to us. Clinton rallies are definitely not as violent as the Trump rallies, but that doesn't mean she's a saint. I do enjoy how non-discriminatory she is, but I don't like how back and forth she is about her views. Are you with us or against us? Like I said earlier though, as the president of the United States, your opinions do not matter. Please, keep the best interest of the people in mind. Hillary is pro-choice, for affordable health care, and for affordable education. Which is exactly what this country needs, but for gun control? She says we have to keep guns away from terrorists. Honestly, the terrorists didn't need a gun on 9/11, and I’m sure they don't need them now. Instead of bashing the other candidates about their scandals, let's focus on the real issues. America is in trouble, but I am not so sure either of these people can save it.

In conclusion, Donald Trump is a business man, not a politician. Would we send a plumber into a burning building? Would you let a taxi driver do your taxes? There's a reason people are in certain fields of work. Not everyone can do everything. Could you imagine if other countries thought of us as rapists, losers, and drug lords? Oh, wait. America has become the laughing stock of the world. We are not respected, nor are we feared. I love my country just as much as the next guy, but we can be better. We were once a proud nation and now other world leaders take us as a joke. Donald Trump is the plumber, America is the burning building. Hillary Clinton is the taxi driver, and I wouldn't trust her with my taxes.
