Nothing to Lose: Cohen's Testimony Against Trump

Updated on February 28, 2019

Anyone who watched the hours long testimony of Trump's once personal attorney, Michael Cohen, drew many conclusions. Unless you are truly unbiased, the conclusions probably follow along party lines to a certain degree. If you are Democrat, Cohen provided many interesting facts and insights as to how Trump operates, which can be seen today in Trump's White House. The facts Cohen provided were verified with actual physical evidence, such as Trump's personal check of $35,000 sent to Cohen to help payoff the $130,000 payment to Stormy Daniels to hide a sex affair before the 2016 election.

Cohen's insight into the Russian connection was valuable. Now, we see and can reason why Trump was so easy and friendly on Russia and Putin. It all makes sense. Trump did not think he would win the election. In the background, he continue to work on the Trump Tower deal with Russia through 2016. After all, it was worth millions of dollars to him. That is what Trump Inc. is all about. It is not a crime. Putin was even offered a presidential suite in the planned Moscow Tower, free of charge. Trump had his then wife scout for potential locations in the area and a specific one was found. According to Cohen, the real estate deal failed when the Trump organization could not "own" the land where the tower was to be built.

None of this is a crime unless negotiations did continue AFTER Trump had became president. Even then, because of the murky separation between Trump and his business, one could say it is not because his family members are running the business (even though, Trump would have personal gain from a successful deal).

Regardless, it really does explain Trump's motive for being so pro-Putin and Russia in his comments. It makes sense because Putin would have to approve it.

Cohen had nothing to lose. For him to tell lies again would only help Trump and even a more harsh prison sentence. His shining moment is when he turned to the Republican Trump attack dogs and told them that the way they are acting now by defending Trump is just like he had done for 10 years. The Republican senators were horrendous in that all they did was to attack Cohen's past history and lies. They did their best to discredit a man that is already fried. They were not asking even one question regarding Trump! They were all blinded and devoted to Trump, just like Cohen once was.

Cohen revealed that the reason why Trump never released his tax returns is that Trump feared that tax lawyers would cause an audit. Funny, because Trump said he could not release his tax returns because they were already under an audit! Of course, experts all say that was just another lie.

Both Trump and Cohen are liars. Trump has been proven to lie or give false facts numerous times, and yet, his blind followers refuse to acknowledge it. They always make excuses for them and him. Cohen is going to jail for lies he made to defend Trump until he no longer could. He turned on Trump and now Trump's followers are attacking Cohen for it.

The Republicans are filled with hypocrisy. Only a few sane Republicans are willing to stand up to the mobster in the White House. Sickening.
