Praying for Failure

Manny Mans the Stove

Good Morning, Breakfastpoppers. Today is Saturday, March 9, 2019. Our pious friend, Mantis Manny, is in the kitchen preparing Spinach Quiches for our enjoyment. I am at the bar preparing Bloody Marys to add to the fun. Manny has a lot on his mind. Common sense has breathed its last gasp. People who hold important jobs in Washington are acting like they have been taken over by vicious other-worldly body snatchers. Up is down. Down is up. Male is female. Girls are boys. Right is wrong. Wrong is right. What's this all about? That's what inquiring minds want to know, so please join Manny and me in the kitchen this morning. Bring your appetites and thinking caps. A little bicarbonate of soda wouldn't hurt, either.

Back to Basics

Thanks so much for joining POP and me this morning. Watching the news these days requires a strong stomach and the ability to recognize lies when they are being told. Some of the fresh blood in Congress are already in deep water, or at least they should be. Once upon a time, a long time ago, crimes were punished. That is no longer the case for Democrats who all seem to possess a "get out of jail card." Hillary and Bill are not in the clinker despite a well documented history of criminal behavior. Bernie Sanders' wife played it fast and loose with some funds she was in charge of, but managed to be forgiven for her criminal ways. Mendez played to a jury that defines criminal behavior differently from middle class America. He is free as a bird, stirring up trouble for President Trump. The freshman darling nicknamed AOC is in hot water. Her chief of staff reportedly funneled more than $1 million in political donations from two political action committees into two of his own private companies. Sounds like jail time to me. AOC put her boyfriend on the list of people able to receive Congressional emails. She also pays him for what, no one knows. Will anything come of this? If we can predict future events based upon past events, she and her chief of staff may win the Nobel Peace Prize.

Muslim Rep. Rashida Tlaib received $225,180 from a Soros organization. She paid herself $45,000 from that contribution. An FEC spokesperson said that a candidate can pay themselves after the general election only for activity that occurred up to the election day. Tlaib paid herself during and after the campaign. She should make herself available to answer questions about her payments. I don't think we should hold our collective breaths waiting for her to come forward. She's a Democrat and a Muslim woman who doesn't care for our nation or our president. Her buddy Omar feels the same way about America and Jews. Will somebody please tell me what she, Tlaib and AOC are doing in Congress? Let's get back to basics. They do not belong in Washington. Their presence puts us at risk. The same can be said about many of those who have been in Congress for quite some time. Quite a few of them should be "doing time."

Inside a Democrats Mind

Democrats have run the same tired campaigns for ages. They tell voters that if they are elected, they will improve everyone's quality of life. That worked for a while, because many people just couldn't seem to get ahead. Onerous regulations hindered the establishment of small businesses. Welfare seemed a easier route for many. The Dems were more than willing to hand over the funds, and the needy people cheered. To the Dems utter dismay, along came a president who decided that work was better than welfare. President Trump opened up avenues of employment for people of all races and ethnicities. The Dems aren't happy about any of this. They need a base that feels cheated and left out of the American dream. How dare this president give these people a path to a better life? In order to remain relevant, the Dems had to switch their narrative. In their utter contempt for their voters, they told the people that they were not better off. They went on to tell their base that even if they were in a better position, it wouldn't last. It's been two years and it's lasting, so now what?

When All Else Fails

The American Dream is coming true for millions of Americans. Our economy is booming, jobs are plentiful and growing and life is better. All this accomplishment leaves the Dems in a very uncomfortable position. Some of them pretend that things aren't that great. Their outrageous claims have a hollow ring to them, so they had to come up with alternatives. They pondered their situation, and decided that the road to success was paved with investigations into the Trump family. Surely, if the Nadlers and the Schiffs work very hard, they can come up with an impeachable offense. That is the Dems first line of defense. The second is to embrace Socialism in the hope that the American people are stupid enough to believe that Socialism works. Well good luck with that Dems.

Whenever I wake up

Before I stretch my wings

I say a little pray for you.
