The Former Presidents Act, enacted in 1958, provides living former presidents with a pension, office staff and support, funds for travel, Secret Service protection, and mailing privileges. It also provides benefits for presidential spouses. Currently, former presidents are awarded a pension equal to the salary of cabinet secretaries, which totaled $203,700 for the 2015 calendar year and was boosted by $2,000 for the current calendar year.

Former presidents are making gobs of money speaking and writing books, more power to them, so why do they need more taxpayer dollars on top of that?

It’s embarrassing that they take that money. I bet Trump won't.

Perspycacious, I agree with you. President Obama will be well taken care off in his retirement just as Bill Clinton. He will have his foundation and Library and people on the left will donate huge sums to him for his speeches and wisdom... He will be fine and enjoy a good life. His legacy will be being the first black President but with so many missed opportunities. He could have done so much more if he only compromised and ruled as a President and not a King (with his executive actions...)

My regret is this. He should have followed his own farewell speech. If he did, he would go down in history as one of the great...

"$85 million - Obama family spent on vacation In 8 years." Whose money? The way it is written almost makes it sound as if they spent their own money...a sum even they did not have. Someone should do a Hub (not me) on their trips and vacations and fund raising trips. It would be enlightening and is certainly a factor in judging his legacy. It would turn out to be examples of his/their narcissism.

Great listing Jack - not sure you got them all.

How about the number of czars that have been appointed by the President? (or by others in his administration)

45 - appears to be the number of Czars Obama appointed. More Czars than the Romanovs had (18) .

And there were as many as 18 other unfilled or planned czar positions in addition. http://www.judicialwatch.org/wp-content/uploads/20...
