Russell Moore Repents, Joins Trump Ticket as VP
After a closed door meeting with advisors and evangelical leaders, Donald Trump, the presumptive Republican Presidential nominee, announced Dr. Russell Moore as the Vice President.
"Russ is a stupendous leader. I mean, look at all the great things he has done,” said Trump in a press conference following a meeting with Timothy Dolan, who is on Trump’s cabinet-member short list. “This guy really knows how to rally the evangelicals. Together, we're going to be huge."
At press time, sources confirmed Dr. Moore would reverse his staunch opposition against Trump and accept the appointment. In his acceptance speech, Moore attributed his change of heart to a divine calling as a peacemaker for all to be ‘of one accord.’
"America is a post-Christian nation, and some would even argue that America is a pre-Christian nation. To 'Make America Great Again,' we must say, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that we are indeed a Christian nation, and that is what Mr. Trump and I will do."
