Tevya Brings the Bagels

Good Morning, Breakfastpoppers. Today is Sunday, May 14, 2017. Our wise friend, Wasp Tevya, is at the breakfast table awaiting your arrival. The table is loaded with bagels of every kind and enough cream cheese to feed Israel. Get here as quickly as you can. I'm afraid Tevya will lose his composure if he hears one more insane statement about collusion with the evil Russian Empire. I'll leave the door open.

Drop the Grenade!

Thanks for coming over so quickly. I am so close to throwing a grenade at the Dems and the MSM for deliberately pumping up a false story about the firing of FBI Director James Comey. Comey served at the pleasure of the president. President Trump deserves to have an FBI Director that he can trust, leading what once was a respectable organization. Frankly, I am shocked that he lasted as long as he did. His actions during the Clinton e-mail fiasco were bizarre at best, and completely suspicious at worst. The funny part is that even Hillary Clinton thought he should be fired. Comey went off the rails when he laid out specific and damning reasons why Clinton should be indicted. He then wrapped it all up by overstepping his authority and stating that she would not be prosecuted. The Dems weren't very happy with Comey either, but now in a truly insane dramatic reversal, they are appalled by Comey's firing. Many have suggested that this event is going to bring on a Constitutional crisis. It feels more like a mental crisis. They are spreading the lie that Comey was fired because he was getting too into the Russian connection to Trump's election and administration. Is there a doctor in the House or the Senate?

Bigger Fish to Fry

It appears that the Russian collusion story will live on forever if the Dems and the liberal media have their way. It is a pathetic attempt on both their parts to stop President Trump from fulfilling his promises to the people who elected him. The fact that everyone will benefit from Trump's success is meaningless to these troublemakers. They want to see him fail, and they could care less about the American people. In the meantime, we need to get on with what really is important. The wall has been crippled to a degree because of judges who insist on holding the American people hostage. That has to change, and it has to change soon. Unemployment is the lowest it has been in a decade, and that is news the electorate deserves to hear. They won't hear it if they insist on watching the MSM , because the truth is held in very low regard by those folks. Border crossings are also down, because for once we have a president who has the courage of his convictions.

There is a deadly disease taking hold in this country, and I am afraid there is no known cure. The Dems and the media are the afflicted ones. The rest of us have to deal with the horrible manifestations of their illness. All we can do in the meantime, is stay alert, fight for the truth and vote all the fools out. We need to insist that areas that need change are addressed despite the Dems efforts to thwart progress. The passage of a workable health care act is a perfect example of something that can't wait. I guess the Dems were late to the party that announced the death of Obamacare. Aetna is now pulling out of the mess and many people will have absolutely nowhere to turn for care. Fixing this mess can't wait. We need to get it done, and we need to do it now. If the Russian insanity continues to be the focus of business, Americans will be hurting more than they already are. The Dems don't care. The MSM doesn't care, but the American people who voted for a new way of doing business, do care. We also need to move forward with tax reform, another important issue that will kick start business, create jobs and put more money in the hands of all Americans. The Dems don't care, the MSM doesn't care, but we care. Our veterans are still waiting for help. In the meantime, they are dying because they can't get in to see a doctor. Whistleblowers within the department are reporting that retaliation that started in the Obama administration has not abated. Those higher up in the department are ignoring Presient Trump's efforts to protect them. The VA is pursuing these people. Those managers who are responsible for these practices have to be ferreted out and fired. How hard can that be? If Congress and the FBI want to investigate something, why not get their hands dirty cleaning up the VA?

Psst

I have a news flash for the crazed pursuers of truth and justice when it comes to the Russians. The Russians are spying on us. The Russians are trying to influence events in our nation. We are spying on the Russians. We are trying to influence events that concern them. We spy on Israel. We listen into the conversations of heads of state. We meddle in elections all the time. This is the way things work in this very complicated world. What is more important than any of this is cleaning up the problems that proliferated under the dumb, deaf and blind Obama administration. That is what we should be focused on. Strengthen our country from within and we will be unstoppable. For those out there who can't sleep because of the Russians, I have some advice. Try to calm down. The Russians are not coming, they are already here!

Tevya's Song

Dear God, why did you have to make so many fools?

Having them around is really annoying

They hurt my head

And my tears are pouring....

Things won't change until voters get smart and stop voting for dems who don't do anything to help the country and its people. And when people stop watching and reading the MSM, maybe the MSM will become journalists. Probably none of this will happen.

Good morning Patti and Tevya, Happy Mothers Day.

As usual, I have a opinion on the Comey situation. The way I see it is this.

It would normally be the job of the DOJ to evaluate the evidence presented to them from the investigators to determine if prosecution was warranted. But due to Loretta Lynch's "chance" meeting with Bill Clinton at the Phoenix airport, there was no way she could be the one to announce there would be no prosecution. Even some on the left would have been shocked if she made this announcement on the heals of this meeting with Bill Clinton.

So, they had to find someone to be the fall guy who would announce to the world that there wasn't enough evidence to prosecute Hillary. If you recall the speech Comey delivered, he pretty much found her guilty in the preamble, then let her off the hook at the end.

I doubt he decided to do this on his own, but was ordered to do it by someone with a higher pay grade. There was only one person who could have ordered this and I think we all know who that was.

Comey tried to soften the blow by announcing the release of new emails just prior to the election, but of course there was nothing new found that would change his opinion.

We will never know if Comey was promised something he couldn't refuse to do this, or if he was threatened with something he couldn't ignore.

Bottom line is we can thank Bill Clinton for the events leading up to Comey being fired.

Just my opinion, may not be true.

      POP AND TEVYA:

Great Hub, as usual! I am in agreement with Trump ordering an investigation into the Russian "hacking" into our election because the Dems won't stop. Once the truth comes out, that will shut them up. Representative Maxine Waters said it all when interviewed by a journalist who wanted to know if she was happy that Pres. Trump fired James Comey, because she was calling for his dismissal. Her Answer: NO! What??? Is she just crazy? She needs to be replaced. You are correct that the Russians spy on us, and we spy on them. that is the game. Putin must be laughing every day about the antics of the Democrats.

What a sorry group they are! Well, in honor of the Russians coming to America (haha) I am buying all the vodka at the Inn today. Hurry over.....

      Dear Mike,

You are probably right, but regardless Comey deserved to be fired because he behaved improperly. Even if he didn't, President Trump could fire him without cause That's just the way it goes. All this blabbering is an excellent way to stop Trump from accomplishing anything. In the end, those that wanted Hillary will vilify Trump forever, and those that wanted Trump will pray that a Democrat never gets to sit behind the desk in the Oval Office again. I am one of those people, because these Democrats are a different breed of animal. See you at the Inn, Mike.

Topping the list of Major Morons are Nancy Botox Pelosi, Harry Hazzard Reid and Maxine Wicked Whacky Waters. Where the HELL did these creatures come from? How did they get in and why were they allowed to stay??! They are a disgrace, anomalies & too F--king stupid to describe. How can the Libs not be completely embarrassed & ashamed of that trio and of course, at this point~~Themselves! The Dems may have finally done it for me.

They're disgraceful behavior, immature conduct and level of violence just may have me turn my back on them forever. It may finally be time for me to drop them like hot rotten potatoes and change my registration from Independent to straight Conservative!! They have turned me around from refusing party loyalty. This may have been meant to be.

You are speaking my language and expressing my feelings. It's funny, I had an encounter this week with a wacko Dem. He was holding up a sign outside Rep. Smith's office. I couldn't understand what it said, so I asked him. He told me that Donald Trump and his friends were in cohoots with the Russians. I laughed and pointed out there wasn't a shred of truth to that accusation, and that we had more important things to worry about. I got into my car, and he screamed out that he just knew I drove a Mercedes! I asked him if he also hated people who had money, and if so, then he ought to hate his fellow Dems in Washington, because they have bigger bucks than the Reps. I actually enjoyed the exchange. I may start going to protests! See you at the Inn. Have a wonderful Mother's Day!

The left is consumed with the Delivery versus the Content.

When the DNC emails were Delivered, through leaks, the left didn't questions the truth of the Content. They through red herrings onto the field and directed everyone to be appalled that the "Russians" leaked the emails.

Now, they focus on the Delivery of the Comey Firing, while once again throwing the red herring onto the field. They Don't really say that Comey shouldn't have been fired for Cause, but only that the Timing (delivery) was for the benefit of president Trump to adversely affect the Russian Trump investigations.

They claim that Comey had just asked for more resources for the investigation, yet the asst now Acting FBI director said they have all the resources they need.

Both the DNC emails and the Comey firing have UNControverted evidence that authenticates, validates and is the truth, and their only attack is on delivery. As if how they were delivered would change their veracity.

But that is what the left wants America to believe.

In addition, as to the Comey versus DOJ controversy. Comey thought that he was the DOJ, the AG and the only person that could handle the disposition of the Clinton investigation as opposed to his bounds as FBI director to really just pass the FBI investigation results to the AG.

In this case, the AG refused to bring in a special prosecutor, and while not really recusing herself because of the Bill Clinton meeting, she accepted the FBI recommendation. Loretta Lynch along with Comey didn't do their job. And they did it so badly, and nefariously that they themselves should be the subjects of an election tampering investigation. Worse than the possibility of the Russian's influencing our election is the influencing by the DOJ and the FBI.

The republicans never really pushed the special prosecutor for the Hillary investigation which was a faux investigation.

The idea that the FBI actually investigated Hillary Clinton is a sham that is verifiable by the information given by Comey in several interviews with congress.

I could list them all, and there are many, but that would take an article.

To suffice to say, the enemy of America is clothed in Blue, and professes righteousness and care for the constitution and the American people. Yet, they manipulate the constitution to prevent president Trump from making the country safe, while at the same time fast track the very people that will make the US unsafe.

Got to go, the bagels are disappearing fast.

The Roman empire met its demise by implosion from within so your comment "Strengthen our country from within and we will be unstoppable" is true I think.

If Hillary was president Comey would have been fired most likely immediately. I would have supported that perhaps for different reasons than her. I would and do support his firing because he is a weak, inconsistent leader, and as President Trump said in a news conference when asked why he fired Comey - he wasn't doing a good job.

There was no excuse for not having a repeal and replace bill the first week (after 6-7 years to prepare) and what's with Trump's legal advisers? They didn't know his executive orders would be stopped by the courts?

Why would the lawyers anticipate that the courts would intentionally misread the law. And what was his option, not put out an EO at all. The judges are Obamites, and they don't see the law, they see resistance to Trump.

Just like Comey misinterpreted the law of gross negligence, and Lorreta Lynch ignored her duty as AG by meeting with Bill Clinton.

You should be pointing at them, not Trump.

      I don't understand your point?

    • tsadjatko profile image

TSAD 6 weeks ago from maybe (the guy or girl) next door

Trump is not an ideologue. He really doesn't understand the left and how they operate and evidently neither do his lawyers. Anyone who understands the left would know his executive orders wouldn't fly with the 9th circuit and the fact they drafted a new "watered down" (Trump's own words) version shows they doubt the original would even pass the supreme court.

Trump stupidly said the new order was a "watered down version" and guess what, the court is using his own words to shoot it down. Not very smart.

"The ruling makes us look weak," is what Trump said during his Nashville speech. No duh? What did his lawyers expect? The liberal courts of the 9th circuit full of Democrat appointees want Trump to look strong?

If Trump's lawyers think the liberal activist judges are going to abide by the law then they need to listen to Rush Limbaugh and not give those judges raw meat on a silver platter for them to cook.

I like what Trump proposes to do on all counts but he is quite naive on how to go about getting it done. When a layman like me could see the liberal judges rulings on his orders coming it really makes me wonder what the hell he and his lawyers were thinking. That is what makes them all look really weak.

There were so many problems with Comey. I remember watching some of his testimony before congress and was dumbfounded by his answers. He mentioned how he gave immunity to two Clinton staffers but in the end he got nothing from them. In the end he still upheld the deal with them. I thought if you give immunity to someone and they give bogus info or none at all, don't they then lose said immunity? Either he was lying or he isn't too bright. Not to say the members of congress were also perplexed by his answers.

That's right BP. The ninth circuit (and all liberal activist judges) thwart the law at every oppotunity to assert their personal left wing agendas. This is no secret to anyone especially Republican lawyers and so begs the question why didn't Trump's lawyers anticipate the courts would block it. If they did advise Trump this would happen and Trump decided to go ahead anyway then Trump's the dodo. No matter how you look at it, Trump's in charge, it was his decision whether he went on bad advice of out of touch lawyers (maybe establishment lawyers who want to see him fail) or went against the advice of his lawyers and ran with an indefensible order in the sight of the 9th circuit, it is a major blunder and revelation that he and/or his lawyers are ill equipped to deal with the left wing judicial activism everybody knows runs rampant throughout the 9th circuit. To ask why would the lawyers anticipate that the courts would intentionally misread the law is extremely naive in the face of what is known by everybody paying attention to the left and their judicial activism. Like I said, I saw this coming and I'm nothing but a concerned citizen, not a seasoned lawyer working for the White House engulfed in, paid to anticipate the legal and political consequences of actions taken by the administration.

    • tsadjatko profile image

TSAD 6 weeks ago from maybe (the guy or girl) next door

Obviously I do get it Brad. The fact that the left (and republican establishment never Trumpers) opposes everything he does is why he doesn't need to play right into their hands, which you don't seem to get.

So you think he had no choice but to apply his executive order to ban travel? If it couldn't be successfully done with an executive order, the order shouldn't have been executed at all.

Now it's rejected twice and he is worse off, he himself said it made him look weak. He'd have been better off if he couldn't construct an order that would pass the courts (knowing it won't pass the judicial activists) not to have done anything like he did. He did it and it isn't working, no different than if he did nothing except they made him look weak and there is no one who can say without a doubt the supreme court would rule in his favor, though I believe they should. But I believed the lower courts should have too. I knew they wouldn't.

I don't understand why you want to argue this point further, are you related to Trump or do you think he walks on water? I don't care much for the guy personally but I'm all for what he says he wants to do, that is make America great again, and I hope he does. I'm just calling a spade a spade. He has done some very good things already, he is a shrewd businessman and that is why it troubles me to see mistakes made where I guess he is relying on advise from people who obviously aren't advising him in his best interests.

Sure the left has always looked pathetic to people of our political persuasion but you seem to forget the country elected Obama twice and almost elected Hilliary, a known felon in my opinion. It's an electorate that is susceptible to the media's constant drum beat of fake news and anti Trump propaganda. Any step he takes forward they and the Democrats portray as two steps backward because they know their endless onslaught has worked in the past on this electorate. Trump needs to wise up to this and make better decisions or get better advise. There are reports he didn't even do the normal legal vetting of his ban order and there is no denying it was handled poorly.

If you think honest criticism of Trump's behavior or advisers is Trump bashing then you are as unreasonably partisan as the Obama operatives saying any criticism of Obama's policies was racist.

Pop, your Hub wonderfully summarizes this dog and pony show called "federal investigations" which are really political posturing having nothing to do with statutory law and everything to do with impeding President Trump's agenda for reform and draining the swamp...

Both sides have a mutual interest in retaining the status quo...these so-called elites are nothing more than self-serving bureaucrats more interested in maintaining their power and control than they are with the welfare of Americans...Nobody is held accountable or they hide behind the 5th Amendment when they are singled out...

The only solution, as I see it, is a benevolent dictator that can temporarily circumvent the Constitution, clean out the swamp, and return common sense to the federal government where there is equality under the law and justice is returned to all Americans...The hate and vitriol against President Trump, encouraged by the MSM, academia, and radical liberals is dividing this nation in half, socially, culturally, and politically...

The Russians don't have to do anything...just sit back and watch us destroy ourselves from within....

Maven, over 50 years ago Khrushchev said we would destroy ourselves from within but actually it is the commies who are destroying us from within.

Of course we can't cross the line to "benevolent" dictatorship (that's an oxymoron?) and even if we could to drain the swamp what do you do about a dishonest malevolent media?

The only solution in this never before seen "democratic" republic is to take back the education system from the left, educate, educate, educate (not indoctrinate) the electorate and teach truth, reason and decency to the extent the left has biased the education system with liberal brainwashing in public schools, lies, rewritten history, left wing indoctrination. Yeah we may have the best high school education available in the world but you have to go college to get it.

Then give it half the time it took the commies to ruin our education system and the swamp will disappear.

      Good Morning maven,

I agree, and frankly I can't take one more minute of this sick business. When I see the likes of Maxine Waters screaming her idiotic head off about the president I just can't bear it. To think that actual human beings elected her is appalling. I think this insanity will continue for four long years. Somehow Trump has to tune a deaf ear to the fools and fulfill his promises to the American people. See you at the Inn, maven. I'll save you a seat. By the way, no Dems or MSM allowed. They can't be trusted.

      Good Morning sad,

I'm jumping in here. I agree with you. We need to start raising kids into adulthood who can think. The babies we have now will not be able to contribute a thing to our nation. I love your line about our high school education. It's true and it is a sad state of affairs. See you at the Inn.

Hey pop..Feel free to jump in here! This IS your hub and your thread, after all! I have to watch myself here. I'm chomping at the bit to spew my opinion of Curly, Larry & Moe....and my description of them is totally accurate & obvious, however crude & rude. Let's face it, it's what they deserve....they've screwed up badly enough and often enough to earn their Title of Supreme Morons......

Yeah! That's right, I'm referring to YOU, Nancy, Elizabeth and Maxine!! If you 3 were not so outrageously STUPID, you'd be funny! But you ARE stupid and you're NOT funny! Just seriously Pathetic! Jesus, Help us !!

      Dear fp,

Actually, I like it when people start talking to each other. I don't necessarily have to weigh in. As for The Gruesome three, I am utterly speechless. The fact that they exist is one thing, the fact that others had to vote for them is another. It scares the hell out of me. I am at the Inn awaiting your arrival.

pop....click on the link from Tony......the sound of the top moron.....you may take your pick.....All 3 are equally goofy and idiotic, but sometimes, one can outdo the other. As of late, it's a toss up....Maxine made an official statement that she's certain we will soon learn that the mantra "Lock her up...lock her up" came directly from the Kremlin....I heard that one, I couldn't laugh, scream or cry. The degree of utter ignorance, caused me to freeze where I was sitting.........then there was Elizabeth....DT calls her "Pochahontus" (LOL!) but I call her Bambi because she has a perpetual look on her face like a deer in headlights! HUH? DUH?.....

and Nancy...well she is Sticky-Face, because her plastic surgeon must have stuck her with more botox on one side of her face than the other.......she can only smile on one side of her face.....the other side is stuck in neutral. Those poor poor bimbos.

      Dear fp,

I never feel like laughing when I have the complete misfortune of seeing any single one of these idiots on television. I can't believe they were elected to serve. They aren't fit to serve slop to pigs!

Tsad...Plato has described the five forms of human government as aristocracy, timocracy, oligarchy, democracy and tyranny. The last, tyranny, is described as either malevolent or benevolent...My reference to this being a solution to removing the morass of self-serving bureaucrats is satirical...We would have a civil war before that occurred...

I disagree with your position that President Trump is naive...that qualification is reserved for the likes of Carter and Obama...Words mean nothing until put into action, and President Trump, if anything, is a man of action....Even with the roadblocks thrown at him by the liberal courts, the extremely bias MSM, and the hateful, scheming, disrespectful, and corrupt democratic party, he remains focused and continues to move forward...

Most critics said he had little experience in foreign relations....I think that myth was put to rest today with a speech that could have gone wrong by one misstatement, yet was hailed as Churchillian, if not in delivery, then in content....Get used to a new American diplomacy, one that offers a helping hand and commitment to our friends, and an unflinching pragmatism to our enemies...

I agree with you that education should be foremost in changing the progressive dialogue that has so enmeshed our culture, law, and politics in a glue of political correctness, identity politics, and a shameful MSM that no longer reports the news, they make it (up)...

Maven, I know you were being satirical and no disrespect to Plato but I would have to say benevolence is in the eye of the beholder. There has long been a strand in the classical liberal tradition that dreams a temporary dictatorship could be a stepping stone, even a shortcut, to reform.

To a liberal a benevolent dictator would be someone who would throw conservatives in jail or at least outlaw their speech (which we know it's no secret they already want to legislate that), would want government control of the whole economy and destruction of capitalism, basically institute a communist state. That would be their idea of benevolence and utopia on earth. NOT a good price to pay for expedited reform (cleaning the swamp).

There is no system possible better than what we have as long as we have an educated and morally responsible electorate. That is what we have to fix. Without that there can't even be a benevolent dictator and with it we won't need one.
