All of us have at one time used a public toilet, whoever place you may have come from. Similar to a market place where different calibers of people are found, a public toilet is also a place where you will find interesting characters. Here are ten of these characters.

The eternity guy

After entering and closing the door from inside, this one stays in the toilet for eternity. The incessant knocks by hard pressed customers who are wondering what on earth the chap could be doing do not bother him or her. Only God knows what the hell this chap is doing inside there. It takes the intervention of the caretaker who compels him/her to respond through banging the door. “I will be through in a minute” he will claim before taking another 30 minutes.

The graffiti/obscenity guru

This one is notorious for scrupling obscenities on the toilet walls and doors, some of which are really weird. You should be surprised to find that the one behind the obscenity was some chap who was wearing an expensive suit. Interestingly, most of these dudes are very innocent before and after entering the toilet.

The Preacher

Ever wondered who writes that apocalypse messages and prophesies about end of the world? Well, these are characters that are usually keen on leaving God’s message wherever they have an opportunity to do. However, why they can only do it inside a toilet but cannot pass the message on a church or crusade is something to ponder.

The clogging customer

There is this customer who is always hell-bent on clogging the toilets each time he visits. He will either make sure that he does not flush the toilets after use or leave large junks of toilet papers on the pot. Nobody gets to understand why doesn’t want others to use the facilities.

The economist

The economist will make sure that the attendant gives him or her toilet paper even if his mission there is only for urinal purposes. You will always hear him says “please add me more” The real intention is to cut the home budget for tissues.

The Hygiene Seekers

Some dudes will visit a public toilet for the sole intention of seeking hygiene. They will be seen wiping their shoes with a tissue paper which they were issued by toilet attendants, or washing their faces, head and hands. Some men will be wiping dust, checking their collars and even washing their mouth in the toilet room. If it is a lady, she will be using the mirror to check if she is presentable before dashing out.

The cunning one

This one will always try to dodge the attendant on payment. He does not pay on arrival but insists that he will pay once through. This is irrespective of the fact that other customers are paying on arrival. Once through, he/she will again be heard asking the attendant do you have a change for one thousand? But when his antics fail to bear fruit, he will be seen dishing out his ten bob to the attendant.

The complainer

There are those who will always complain of everything. He will question why the toilets are always full, why people are taking long in the washrooms and not leaving for others, why the toilets are dirty, why the charges are high, among other issues. He will go on threatening attendants for a court suit for health mishaps and poor services

The stall checker

This one will check one toilet after another as he/she looks for an “ideal” one to use. He will claim that the other toilets are not in good condition and he is looking for a better one. However, he eventually settles on one which is even worse since the one he was trying to avoid get occupied in time.

The don’t care ones.

These are people who don’t care about the status of the toilet or stall they have visited. What they are after is to release themselves and get out. If they enter a stall and find remnants in it, they will simply flush it off for the previous occupant and continue with their mission. If the seat is wet, she will just rip some toilet paper, wipe it and continue with their business. These people are just never bothered by the health risks prevalent in the particular toilet. Despite this condition, you will still see them in the same facility again and again.
