The Anonymous, the "Off with their heads" policy!

Updated on February 18, 2012

It's been four years now that a group of masked pacifists, "terrorists", "hackers" demarcated itself as the counter-power to omnipotence, riding their Trojan horse of democracy. Every lash from the authority is whipped by their "hacking". Those soldiers from this new age revolution shine with computers, genius and boldness. Their territory, their jurisprudence, their power are limitless and consequently they strike whoever, wherever, whenever. Weren't we subjugated to the law of the strongest? It is now reversed, isn't it? Their wind of revolution/resistance is viral! To omnipotence, they slash the arrogance of the authority with a skillful middle finger.

Their message is clear, FREEDOM. The U.S., France... the rest of the world are on the lookout, their legions will raid any unjustified actions against the people. Any of us is a potential Anonymous, we just need a little push from the economy such as to be kicked out from the solvability and the solvency of the market to soothe the corporations' greed, to step out of the norms and carry their flag!

Governments, corporations are their sole targets so far. They work for the common good. As pockets of resistance are forming in a subterranean guerrilla, they grow and gain support from the population. The U.S., French and lately the Syrian (denoted a lack of maturity on this move, the Middle-East affairs are complicated without insights) governments fell under their power...

A movement of rebellion gushed out from the debris of the implosion of capitalism, from a continual siphoning off of our freedom. Incomprehensively, we remain enigmatically vegetative. Every attack limiting drastically the margin of our freedom is sanctioned by a subtle visit to profligate and despotic websites. What the executive refuses to sever due to outside pressure, Justitia, embodied by the group, rectifies the shot. In an international concerted effort, they slid to the targeted webs, shut down their sites condemning them to silence. An eye for an eye could be their motto or ours! The infringement of our freedom has consequences as it should be! What other solution?

When we demonstrate, the militarized and armored police, on the battlefield, launch their tear gas, their water jets, their rubber bullets... What are our weapons in expressing our disagreement? Our voice. What is its weight while facing the police? It is crushed. When youngsters sit-in, "our" police, the mayor's personal guard, sprays them. Shall next time we be belted with a baseball bat or Molotov cocktails to prevent such brutal clash? Obviously not.

Then how will they hear our cry, or at least our message? The Wall Street Occupy Movement had the conference of Davos question the model of pure capitalism as if it had been applied, diverting from posing the real interrogation as for the viability of capitalism. The elite is pretending to feel concerned. How will they hear our grievance, then? They won't! They proved it! What other solution?

Why those rebels did become a voice? An action? Because we were not heard? Because nobody will defend the people in their pursue of justice? Who will throw at them the first stone if not the repressers? When the FBI took down Megaupload, they decided to cleanup the web from its undesirables. What is undesirable for many, for the rulers (less secrets, less benefits), is very desirable for others!

Those websites responded to a demand! Who could this demand be? A distinct segment of the population? Young, precarious economical status, resourceful, online users? Or people unassuaged with monopolies? Maybe this same demand has for motivation not to kill for drug, not to sell meth, not to rape, not to rob a bank (although...) but to punch a society to its weakness i.e. its corrupt face.

You may regard me as an outlaw and it would be to my honor but the circumstances are definitely favorable for such behavior. I've never sworn semper fidelis to any current of thought, belief or any cheating governments, only to a country! I don't march to the shouting of a military superior or to the reassuring voice of any politicians! Dissension is my answer when the veil of tyranny starts falling down over the people. Dissension is the rope that will hang all the English Charles the 1st of the world! Dissension is the opportunity for heroes to start to rise, to engage in a fight in the name of the people!

When the insurrection reached the doors of Versailles, Marie-Antoinette had both bread and cakes, the people none! In the turmoil, Danton appeared to be their savior, they rallied him and OFF WITH THEIR HEADS. When all of us eat bread, most of them eat cakes. When all of us eat bread, more and more of us dream of cakes! What will happen if we have none? I learned that the end justifies the means.

It is hard for me not to be political since politicians influence our lives. And given the contempt with which we are ignored I need to vent anger. Thanks for your compliments.

This took me back to that old Mark Twain quote, "whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority it is time to pause and reflect." I am not overly political but I believe too many people become so wrapped up in their day to day life that they lose track of the larger issues of freedoms lost and won. Anonymous is a reminder of how much we have lost and the potential we have to change. Beautifully written, almost liquid poetry, I look forward to reading more of your work.

Update as for their actions. Early this week they hacked a pedophile website sharing pornographic pictures divulging identities. What is the FBI doing? Now, we can count on a real police!

If capitalism was simply the freedom to do business why would Greenspan condemn it? Nowadays capitalism is turning its back to the American people to the benefit of the Chinese (employment speaking). Capitalism has for sole objective the prosperity of Marx's K (Capital) to do so American companies outsource for lower cost productions, for lower taxes...

There is more to it than that. Capitalism is simply the freedom to do business as an individual, not what you are focusing on. You would have us slaves of the state if we followed you.

Society teaches you that in order to be happy capitalism is our solution, that we have to make a lot of money (the winner type as you well underlined it), that we have to take loans (to be indebted), that we have to be a consumerist (show the whole neighborhood our economical status)... I disagree it is their model to enslave us.

Hmmm. I heard this once in a Star Trek TNG show called the High Ground: The difference between generals and terrorists is only the difference between winners and losers. If you win you are called a general, if you lose - a terrorist.

I have to agree on what you said about Capitalism. It shouldn't be the 'only' idea out there. Triumph should bring about more change and stay within the realm of the idea. It shouldn't cement itself as the ultimate authority, like a savior. That to me is the basis or all fear, and hatred. It's the internalization of our 'need' for a something to take away our troubles, instead of live each day triumph after triumph. When you have more than enough, you've won. If you don't have much you are poor and a loser.

Who doesn't see the lottery and think? Wow, if I had all that money, all my troubles would be gone. I'd be a winner! If I could just pay off these bills. If I could just have someone to love, I wouldn't be a loser. etc. etc. etc.

It is not a necessary evil, it means that we don't have other solutions. Australia is leading a new path in economical solutions. It applied Keynes's theory consisting in encouraging the demand and, it is working!

The Anonymous are a voice fostering people to react, to see the reality as it is, governments obey to the elite exclusively. It is time to change the tendency, the trend!

Capitalism, to me, is a necessary evil. I agree with many things that Anonymous does, but the world governments only listen to money. Anonymous sent them a message about Greece, what do they do, the opposite of what Anonymous told them to do

You definitely made your point there! However if capitalism is not dead and according to you is shifting, it at least means, that its former model is sinking therefore dying! Now, will the new model adapt to the people's need or will they once again pretend to a change?

In another hub, I proposed to try a model developed by Keynes accentuated on the demand postulate. Australia is experimenting it successfully!

If you lived through the sixties you experienced a radical shift of the American people as a conscience. Many made their points through violence (weather underground, black panthers...) and also through peace as you referred to it, the hippies!

If we don't watch out constantly, they will step over us!

Artists and musicians bring their ideas, "hackers" (I don't like this word since it is overcharged with negative connotations) are the action.

To say that communism never existed is a fallacy, it existed and it failed. Capitalism is falling because it is based upon an idea that it is the only solution for any society!

I came back when I realized I had forgotten to vote up on this hub. It is really well written and your points are clear and accurate. I don't have to agree with someone to appreciate their point of view, especially if it is from a reasonable point of view.

You never answered “what country?” I live in Florida, where the rank and file have no use for Wall Street or even the federal government. They lost evryone’s money buying swampland in the dry season like always. Then they robbed our banks and gave the assets to the "too big to fails". Northern transplants who bring their ideas of cutting education, offshore drilling, excessive tax systems, and rampant over development should just stay home. I can make an argument that the housing industry collapse was an answer to prayer. Its tough here, but boom and bust is a weather pattern like hurricanes. It doesn't mean capitalism is dead, it is just shifting like beach sand and it always does.

I lived through the sixties, so occupy wall street is just the same ol’ same ol’. Who is sponsoring all of those folks? Who sponsored the hippies? What are you for? Being against something is meaningless without viable solutions. Watch, after awhile, this movement will do just like the hippies. In twenty years, all but two will sell out to the establishment. Those two will be sleeping in the park forever and get their meals from daily bread.

Sorry, but I am more impressed with artists and musicians than hackers. I live on the Space Coast, and know quite a few people who are capable of hacking. I know the guy who busted those guys in Estonia. Not everyone can do it, but who wants to? It is like being a locksmith. We cannot move forward by harm, we can only shift like the sand. Communism has never and will never exist. People are too greedy and the elite never let go.

I feel for a man who only has reason in this unreasonable world. Good luck with that.

Hacking whatever website without being caught is not at everybody's reach!

I don't see in what way spirituality will conquer the world! I'm a man of reason, live without spirituality, and like to think to be wise!

You just did not notice it but it did happen and the Wall Street movement is its result. People understand that capitalism is only beneficial to the owners of capital (I'm not going there anymore)!

Since the eighties, politicians, economists are telling us that capitalism is the model to follow for a thriving economy, for a happy life.

Today, we know that they are WRONG!

"I've never sworn semper fidelis to any current of thought, belief or any cheating governments, only to a country!" What country would that be?

The internet is nothing more than a man-made astral plane. It is no great feat to hack it. The players of which you speak are delusional. They are no more an annoyance. If you want freedom on this planet, it must be spiritual. The flesh in always in bondage to one thing or another.

Capitalism has not imploded or anything like that. The communist are capitalists, too. Capitalism has been around forever (Babylon), and won't go away until the Lord comes back.

Propaganda has variable faces. Propaganda are the lies of our governments boasting fallacious perceptions. Its objective is primarily to perceive the "other" as the enemy and to gather the people behind the patriotic sentiment. The critical thinker will spot his/her government as the vector of propaganda. Propaganda is as much Russian as American!

The 'elites' are running scared by the power of the internet hence all these statutes being promoted left, right and center attempting to stifle speech and the dissemination of the truth.

Human consciousness is shifting away from being controlled through fear to actually understanding WE are in control.

Best thing people can do to open their minds is switch off the TV and research, look, read, listen...just do whatever to liberate their minds and ultimately humanity as a whole will benefit.
