How to Tell If You or Someone Is Racist - Do the Racist Questionnaire

Updated on December 4, 2017

Smash Racism
Smash Racism

So here we go again, another article about racism. But how can we ignore racism when it is dished out daily to many minority groups such as Hispanics, Asians and most of the times America's own gifted black people. When you talk to many people about racism you will get the very same answers, "Racism is mean and ignorant and should be stomped out of our society." Then you say something like "lets sign a petition to help or lets go march peacefully together all race holding hands as a signal that racism should never be tolerated," then you see those same people who talk tough against racism push their heads in the ground like an ostrich trying to hide its body.

Then there are those who act ignorant simple because they are too ashamed of racism or they don't care about racism and want it to seem like racism does not exist when it does. Racism exist in the past and it is alive and well today. As a matter of fact, racism has evolved like an alien species. There is not just the physical abuse of black people across America, but the mental, financial and psychological racism which exist today.

Physical Racism

  • Black people know this too well. Walking down the street with a hoodie on with a pack of chocolate in your pocket listening to rap music is warrant enough to get you cornered by a zillion police cars that are calling for a zillion backup to frisk and search this chocolate carrying music loving black teenage boy. While at the same time the white chief of police son is busy distributing large amounts of drugs all over the country. Physical racism is simply being harassed because you are black, Asian or of some Hispanic origin.

Physiological Racism

  • You go for a job interview with your two degrees, one in engineering and the other in arts. You are successful and land gets hired by the company. You think that you are well paid as you are in one of the top post at the organization only to find out that the white guy you supervise is actually getting the same pay or even more than you. You begin to wonder what is going on and when you ask about it everyone seems to be mum about it. You have just been dished a heavy dose of Physiological Racism. How? Well you are fully qualified and you have landed a top post in your organization, doing a slave load of work while the white guy you supervise whistles along the way. Once you realize what is happening it will affect you mentally if you are not strong.

Financial Racism

  • Instead of putting in more funds to support many troubled intercity communities, the government funds military gear for police and builds and pumps funding into building more prisons. The lack of skill and education will only breed criminals and criminals only end up being killed or in jail. Without any proper education or skill, what you find is a cycle of poverty which continues in depressed communities and once the community stays depressed then the financial burden stays along with them.

So let’s do a little fun exercise. Let’s find out how racist you are. Don't be afraid to do the racist questionnaire. Let’s get started.

1. What Race Are You?

The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.

— Dr. Martin Luthor King

11.When you hear the word Watermelon, which race comes to mind?

12.When you hear the word noodles, which race comes to mind?

14. Do you laugh at race jokes?

See results

15. Are you apart of or supports the Neo Nazi or any supremacist racial groups?

See results

16. Do you believe white people should be paid more than any-other race for doing the same or less work?

How To Tally Your Racist Points

There are 16 questions being polled. For each answer you give which is deemed to be racist. One point will be added to your score. If an answer is not deemed racist nothing will be added to your score. If your tally has more points than half the questions asked you are the biggest racist and your soul will not rest in peace. See the non-racist answers below. A non-racist person will have a minimum score of 0. Question number one is omitted as that is not a racist question

2.no, 3.none, 4.none 5.yes, 6.yes, 7.yes, 8.no, 9.none, 10.none, 11.none, 12, none, 13.no, 14.no, 15.no, 16.no

score of 1-15=racist

score of 0 = none racist

"Equality' is a socialist buzzword, and no, there is no such thing. What we have here in the US is equal rights under the law.

We do not have equal outcome, nor should we because it would be a disaster. Why work hard to become an engineer or a professional athlete if your pay would be still the same as a fruit picker? Socialism always fails because self-interest is the main driver in a flourishing economy, not 'the good of the masses'.

Your circular and inaccurate logic here has made me dizzy.

It seems that your goal here is to stir up trouble.

It is hard to believe that anyone should believe in Equality

Thee is no evidence that there has been equality anywhere.

BradmasterOCcal, yu reasoning of equality is narrowed only to the laws of a few racist people. Amendments are created by people to give power to certain peopl or to correct certain situations to make it either lawful or ulawful. Now if you are going to measure equality by a piece of paper and ink you need some serious head checking, Those inequalities are based upon beleifes or OPINIONS of others. Lets look at what is an opinion. An OPINION is a view or judgement formed about something.

So as an example question: Would you marry a black person?

      Answer:No.

      Why?

      Answer:Blacks are scumbags.

That my friend is that person opinion and that answer does make them racist. By categorizing all race of people in a negative way.

      Clive

The 14th Amendment didn't give the right to vote to Black Men or Women

Why was the 15th Amendment necessary if the All Men are Created Equal existed under the 14th.

Also why did it take another Amendment and 55 years for women to get the right to vote? Equal Protection, the why are single people taxed differently than married people?

And once again, your polls were not valid to tell anything?

Even asking which is the superior race is asking for an opinion, and it lacks any criteria for making a decision, as on what basis are they superior?

All your questions are just getting opinions.

For example, does everyone have the same criteria for defining racism, detecting who is a racist? NO

This is reason enough, Clive, that we recognize "We" must strive to continue to change this by our words, actions and attitudes.

Just as everything begins & spreads, so too can the ignorance & bias become the obstacles we break down until they are buried far in the past.

One of the most important gifts we can give to our precious children & grandchildren is to ensure them that Universal Love, peace & harmony is the only true responsibility we have to one another and ourselves.

Man must only SEE the simplicity of this.

There will always be people who believe their race is superior.....still don't see how as no race can control their own life. Meaning, we were all born, made of the same flesh and bone, suffer from the same diseases, have similar emotions, have the same fluid under our skin, we all grow old and later someone digs up some hole and throws our corps in. Point is no man, can claim superiority and thus no race can. If we are just and fair, you would see that the world of science doesn't highlight the achievements of black scientist and inventors even when they have developed life changing inventions. There are groups of people who want a stereotype of race to remain the same and you will always see in the news police in the garrison chasing and arresting some black or hispanic gang banger but the news will never highlight the 1000 young black men who have graduated with the highest honors. smh

Absolutely. I give you Dr. Ben Carson, Condoleezza Rice, Clarence Thomas, Thomas Sowell, and Walter Williams, some of the best minds in the world.

    • fpherj48 profile image

Clive...When we discuss this issue and others similar, I believe it is a "given," that statements are offered with the knowledge that "IN GENERAL" is understood. Or, if you prefer, "in the majority of cases, most often, of higher percentages.....You get my gist.

However, having said this, I do not accept that any "superlative" can be attached to an ENTIRE race....as you have said, for instance: Asians are superior in terms of intelligence. Really? Any statement of this nature that has been allegedly "proven" can also be disproven.

Further, trying to find "proof" is futile. All findings are the result of different research, at different times, involving various focus, with and/or without multiple variables.

Correct. If 3 individuals were tested for Intelligence level, they would test to varying degrees, which is expected when 3 ethnic groups are tested, as well.

The reality is, when all of any tests on any groups are over and done....graded, averaged out & studied, I believe we would find that we are ALL pretty much the same, the world over.

Despite all this chit-chat. This actually has nothing to do with "All Men are Created Equal"...(if in reference to Biblical meaning) My translation of this would be that WE (His creation/children) are EQUAL in HIS eyes. Only humans divide and separate one another.

As for the words of our Founders and creators of our Constitution....that statement is directed at our EQUAL rights & opportunities, treatment & freedoms. Then again....I'm always open to debate.

I agree completely, Clive, but my remarks were based on an intelligence test (actually there were more than one) that outraged many, because it ranked Asians highest, then whites, then blacks. The spread wasn't that much at all, but it was labeled racist even though it was purely scientific.

The fact that whites tested lower than Asians was not labeled racist. That part was acceptable.

And as I pointed out, Asian nations, despite having the most intelligent population, are not nearly as successful as America with it's racial mix.

    • clivewilliams profile image

my friend willstar, you can test three men for intelligence and the asian comes out on top. Then you can test the same three men in fishing and the asian comes out at the bottom, then you can test the same three men for athletics and the black man comes out on top. So if the world was based on athletics, could we say that the black race is superior? If the world was based on strength, could we say the white man is a superior race. Every race has intelligence, and people with superior intelligence. You could test that same intelligent Asian next week along with someone from some unknown island and the Asian gets his ass kicked. Then again, how do we know that the smartest person we know is the smartest person in the world, suppose someone smarter than the smartest person just doesn't give a damn about intelligence and just wants to live a secluded life? There is absolutely no race on this planet who is superior to any other race as no race is complete.

    • WillStarr profile image

WillStarr 2 years ago from Phoenix, Arizona

      No, Brad is correct, Clive.

To answer your question, suppose we test three men for intelligence. Do you really believe that they will all three test exactly the same? Of course not, so why should all three races test exactly the same? In almost all such tests, Asians prove to have the superior intelligence. As white guy, I don't resent that, because it's obvious that one race must prevail.

But is any Asian country the most powerful and respected in the world? No! It's America, and its mix of races!

BTW, if Republicans are racists, and the deep South is racist, why is Dr. Ben Carson either leading the Republican party or a close second in states like South Carolina?

      Hmm?

    • clivewilliams profile image

Clive Williams 2 years ago from Jamaica

bradmasterOCcal, not because you are a racist you try to devalue the simple survey. The questions asked can prove if someone is racist. So tell me now, which race is made superior....the phrase all men are created equal is factual my friend. Tell me which man past or present is superior than any man now and i will prove you wrong.

    • bradmasterOCcal profile image

bradmasterOCcal 2 years ago from Orange County California

Your survey is meaningless, as you can't make the assertion of racism in each question when you are trying to define racism.

Your hub is trying to apply string theory to the word Racist.

I take words literally, and that means that Racist is defined by Race, and not any other attributes, such as wealth.

Every human being is a product of human nature, and human nature is a myriad of prejudices that know no boundaries. It happens at the family level which is a blood level. And if it can happen at that level, it must go to every existing level of human socialism.

In America, the most discriminated class and the one with little to no protection or solutions is the WHITE male, as it is not a protected class.

No we are Not All Equal, and even the phrase, ALL Men are Created Equal didn't include Blacks and Women. Men didn't mean Mankind.

How can someone move on when they are more qualified and denied a job because they are black? How can someone move on when police continue to kill unarmed black men, while teens open carry assault rifles and are spoken to decently by police officers who shake their hands. My friend, no one anywhere in this world likes to be fed injustice and wrong, and until those wrongs are right.....well lets just say "as you were"

      Hi Clive!

I understand your point, but whites were also kept as slaves at times (and still are in the Middle East), and sometimes their masters were black men. In addition, white men who came to America met both friendly Indians and Indians who wiped them out without mercy.

None of us today were ever slaves or slave owners, and none of us today ever even knew a slave or a slave owner.

No one is without historic guilt, so perhaps the best approach is to move on. After all, what is to be gained by living in the past?

@Willstar, i do not agree with racism of any sort, But you must remember why black people have developed racism, it is a resentment for slavery. That is the same reason why the native Americans do resent the white man and hate their blood mixed with them. Its not because they just simply hate the white man, it is a developed hatred because of all the atrocities that were bestowed upon them when the Europeans invaded America and stole the Native Indians lands by killing them and driving them off prosperous grounds. Until the white nation addresses many overwhelming issues and try to right what have been wrong for centuries. You will find a bred hatred towards the white man that they themselves have created. That hatred many see as racism.

Will....I have no problem believing you. While I am not a racist, I have been the victim of the racism of others. More specifically, I was married for 12 years to a Native American. We had 2 sons.

While his immediate family "liked" me and treated me well, it is a known fact that Natives seriously do not want their people "to mix," so to speak with "the white man."

While one may think this is an ages-old attitude that has since vanished, I'm here to tell you it is alive and well for most, if not all Native People of the Reservations in the U.S & Canada.

It especially disturbs the ELDERS that their "Race" seems doomed to become less than PURE. Being a Matriarch, our sons are not able to be counted among enrolled "Senecas".....They attended school with numerous Natives, played in Sports together and became quite close as classmates will do. BUT...believe me my sons were continually reminded that they are "Mutts"...as they were called (endearingly?) in a semi-joking manner. Even when my kids were very young & went to Summer Recreation on the "Rez," they were referred to as "White Boys." Not that this is a bad thing....I'm just saying, Natives enjoy REMINDING you that you're NOT one of them.

Here in Western NY, the reservations that literally surround us are extremely WEALTHY, unlike so many tribes elsewhere.

Suffice it to say, I know the backlash of racism. Peace, Paula

A fairly recent professional poll by Rasmussen surprisingly revealed that most Americans now view blacks as the most racist segment:

      http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/lif...

The real racism of the past (and I saw it up close and personal) makes today's supposed 'racism' pale in comparison.

I did not have to respond to this questionaire to know that I am in no way racist. My family, extended family and circle of friends is a mix of every ethnic origin, color, and/or race imaginable. We all love one another.

I was not raised with bigotry, but raised by free thinking parents, in an atmosphere of acceptance & appreciation toward diversity.

Racism is alive all over the world, not just in America. All Germans do not support Nazism. All Muslims do not support terror. All Americans are not racist. One race is not superior. The color of your skin is the race you were born in. Some groups are considered more intelligent, but only because they were fortunate enough to obtain a good education, which was denied the Black race in times past. Education makes every race equal. We all have the same amount of brain cells and when educated excel equally. Great article. Bravo!

Interesting survey/poll. I wonder how many people will answer truthfully? The questions are a bit misleading....which race do I think of with noodles? Is it really racist to say Asian, or is that just simple word-association based on history? But watermelon most definitely...and you left out Muslim. :) Not that my answers would have been any different.
