The main theme of the speech was a positive American agenda and a reafirmation of our values and what America stands for. It was a speech that no American should disagree with or be critical of. And yet, we see a whole party taking politics above all else and acting disrespectful of the office and of the setting. This is the hall of Congress and it is the people’s house. What a disgraceful showing.

The Contents...

Economy is making a come back. The stock market is breaking new highs, and jobs are coming back along with manufacturing plants. Unemployment is at all time low for blacks and minorities. Wages are rising and companies are investing again in the US and giving out bonuses to their employees.

Our flag, our motto, In God We Trust, our anthem and our pledge and our Constitution are at the center of our heritage. Who can be against that?

Our military and our border agents and our police officers and EMS are to be revered and we owe our gratitude for their service and sacrifice.

ISIS is being decimated around the world.

MS13 gangs are being rounded up and deported or incarcerated.

Law and order is in vogue again.

Infrastructure are going to be fixed and approval time reduced.

Vocational training put in place to train workers for jobs that are in demand.

Dreamers are offered a path to citizenship in 12 years. The wall is needed to stop future illegal crossing and creating more dreamers...

Illegal drugs are going to be stopped at the borders.

North Korea are going to be sanctioned for developing nuclear missiles that could reach our shores.

Jerusalem was accepted as the capitol of Israel.

Trade deals will be re-negotiated to be fair the same goes for the Paris climate accord.

Our veterans are given choice in their healthcare providers.

1500 VA employees were fired, government accountability is needed to insure proper operations of all agencies.

America first.

An Experiment...

Here is my conjecture regarding those who may dislike this speech because they just don’t like anything Trump.

Suppose you take the text of the speech and make one small change. Instead of Trump as the speaker, put Reagan as the author or any other President.

My guess is the speech will be well received and praised.

Talking about fake news, here is a video of some student’s reaction to the STOU speech. It is hillarious and sad at the same time.

An Observation...

Here is a personal observation on the state of affairs in our country. It is just two data points. In 2016, I did not vote for Trump or Hillary. A close relative voted for Trump. Now a year later, I have shifted my views on Trump and think he is doing a great job upholding his promises and fighting the entrenched Washington insiders of both party. He has had limited success in draining the swamp.

In my relative’s case, she has moved completely opposite to my views. She has bought into the narrative that the main street media has been pushing for the past year. She is now anti-Trump all the way. She thinks Trump is a racist and a liar and an embarassment and that our country‘s standing in the world stage has been diminished by Trump. She can’t wait to get him out.

Who is right?

My word of caution to all those people who have exhibited TDS, Trump Derangement Syndrome. What if you are wrong? Somethings cannot be walked back.

President Trump had a good year and a good start. He will make America great again as he promised. We the citizens are the beneficiaries. We are better off financially, and more respected as a nation. Our military is being rebuild and our government is being downsized. We are a net producer of energy. All good to follow.

Sorry to say, I was unable to see the SOU speech at the time it aired. Since then, I have read about and heard via news outlets of it's contents as well as some reactions and comments. All information I've been able to glean, has been quite positive from both sides (which sort of shocked me!)

I've also heard the same old nasty remarks from the same old haters/whiners/losers. They really REALLY don't intend to ever stop the stupidity, under any circumstances whatsoever. The bitter, angry libs are a classic example of biting off one's nose to spite one's face.

Honestly, can't these selfish, immature babies at least quiet down and behave even though they refuse to face the reality of the good that's been done for America?

Wait, I can answer that. "Obviously not." Too bad, so sad.

In the meantime, I did hear some of the news reports today that sound very dire for the poor baby Dems. Well THEY asked for it!...and they're about to get it.

Suhail, what does your race have anything to do with his speech. The items he mentioned are for all Americans. They are easily verified. You are caught up in the Hate Trump phenonmenon. If you read his speech and didn’t know who the author was, most people would be cheering...

The speech was fantastic, the Dems were disgraceful, and most of the media was vengeful and vindictive.

I don't agree with an over-whelming majority of his claims, especially on economy, but then I am not white and I have a college degree from the USA :-)

The liberal left is so filled with hate, that they can't acknowledge any of Trump's accomplishments. Even to the point that they claim we should be thanking Obama for the current state of the economy. Okay, I get it. It has only been one year - and there may be some "lingering" effects of the Obama era. My question is this: in 2 or 3 more years, when the economy continues to heat up, what will liberals say then? Can't wait to hear their excuses. Or maybe they will ignore the whole issue, and go back to just attacking Trump on a personal level. Time will tell.
