To The Millennials From The A Member Of Generation X
Gonna lay some truths on you Millennials.
Dear Millennials,
Hello from a Gen Xer.
I come to you today to lay some truths on you. All those things that Boomers accuse you of? Well, guess what? The same things were said to my generation. And you know what else? Those same things were said to the Boomers!
Considering that some of those Boomers you hate so much were Hippies, in fact, worse was said about them than you.
But wait! There's more.
Things said about the Boomers by the Silent Generation was said to the Silent Generation by The Greatest Generation and so on and so forth since the first humans had the first babies.
The fact of the matter is, there's never been a generation that didn't hear about how they were ruining family values, destroying the nation, lazy, immature, etc etc ad nauseum.
And you think you're so clever pointing out the environmental and economic damage you accuse the Boomers of? Guess what the Boomers did when they were your age. Go on, guess.
(BTW, take it from a unionized worker, unions aren't that great. They weren't great then and they're worse now.)
The fact of the matter is when it comes to the different generations history repeats itself over and over and over again. Heck, you have already started to become just like the Boomers. I see you out there, making fun of the next generation for playing Fortnight and doing the Floss. You're just as bad.
And frankly, you're just as entitled as you accuse the Boomers of being. Just in a different way than them, but entitlement is still entitlement no matter what the words used are.
You all could've been different, you could've broken the pattern. But it's already too late. You're just as bad as the Boomers. You didn't learn from the prior generations' mistakes. And this Gen Xer is so disappointed in you. Your generation needs to take off the blinders and grow up.

Well, I'm Generation X and I am not dissapointed in Millenials. And the following statement is not correct: "when it comes to the different generations history repeats itself over and over and over again".
The younger people are not so tribal like our parents. They do not see skin colour like our parents generation and they are certainly more optimistic than our parents. Actually, millenials are more like the parents of the baby-boomers who fought in the World Wars and were Internationalists.
Our grandparents started Unions and the baby-boomers (their kids) nearly wiped them out. Now, I have to fight for the well-being of Unions and somehow, You got lost in this fight.
Regarding "environmental and economic damage", it mostly happened in the last 50-60 years, not in the 1800s, or beginning of the 1900s LOL It was during the baby-bomers life-span that the environment began being destroyed at the rapid pace which is being destroyed now, through deforestation, polution of air, water, etc. Our grandparents rode in carriages with horses, not in 6 cylinder Mustangs LOL Man ... what are You talking about? You angry at Millenials for nada. Take a chill-pill, go blaze a spliff and relax. We're over the hump. With baby-boomers dying-off in the next decade much of the hatred, tribalism, racism and the like, will be gone from this world. For that I am happy.
